All Decked Out - project at dusk

All Decked Out

(12 reviews)

If you're looking for a company to build your deck, pavilion, screened-in room, gazebo...I strongly…read morerecommend All Decked Out. All Decked Out (ADO) replaced our old deck with a beautiful new deck and screened-in room in less than a month, and we're delighted with the results. As advertised, they used high-quality, low-maintenance materials (e.g., Deckorators decking and Woodtone®Tongue & Groove ceiling panels), and the workmanship was excellent. Other things we liked about ADO: * Their photo gallery shows actual photos from projects they completed, instead of a gallery full of stock photos [GOOGLE image search is your friend]. They also have photos of projects they're working on and videos on their Instagram pages (AllDeckedOut513 and AllDeckedOut513.Day2Day). * ADO's website clearly explained their process and what clients can expect after contacting them [See "Start Here"https://alldeckedout513.com/our-process/] * We liked the fact that ADO handles both design and construction. * ADO uses the Builder Trend app, which made communicating with the office and project leaders, invoicing and payments super easy and convenient. The project builder keeps a daily log on the app. If we have any questions post-completion, we can message them via the app. * They have a 3yr builder's warranty. * Everyone was so nice and so patient...Jennifer(admin), Joe & Jessica (the owners), Jeff (project leader), and John & Taylor (our builder and his helper). A big thanks to All Decked Out for bringing our vision to life.

All Decked Out was the only one that required front end homework (beyond what was already available in a web form) -and- charged a "consultation fee" of $100. I hate these fees in every capacity working with contractors, but I can't recall this ever being present outside of plumbers and electricians. I didn't proceed to set-up the consultation because their reviews online and competitive estimate should provide enough knowledge to their potential customer vs. instead of pinning them into working with them because of the thought of, "Well, we've already paid $100 towards working with this company..."

We hired the Fence Company to install a picket fence in our Ft. Thomas backyard that was to replace…read morean old wire fence that had been there since the beginning of time. This was one of several renovation projects that we were undertaking before the birth of our second child. We were also having problems with our dogs getting over the existing fence and running through the neighborhood. Unlike several other contractors that we had used for the other projects, the Fence Company was always punctual and professional. They also had good advice on what type of fence would look best on our terrain, which was a rough downward slope to a patch of woods at the back of the lot. They told us that installation would begin on a Monday morning and last two days. They sent a crew of six people out on Monday morning and were finished by the end of the day. The new fence looks great, and the local animal control officer no longer has us on speed dial. Out next door neighbors had just built their house, and were so impressed that they will also be using the Fence Company to put their fence in later this year. A couple of other details: 1. The job was done at the cost estimated, with the exception of additional charges or obstructions to the post holes (see below). Half was due up front, and half on completion of the work. The estimate and the payment schedule were entirely reasonable. 2. Any posts that had to be dug through roots or rocks incurred an additional $15 charge per post. Whoever had installed the previous fence had cemented the entire length of the fence into some brick and concrete trough that ran the entire length of the fence and was worthy of a WWII bunker. We removed most of it with a sledge hammer and two picks (we broke the first one). We also had a number of large honeysuckle plants that had to be removed. After that experience, we were happy to pay the the additional charges for the obstructed posts. 3. My only negative comment is that the Fence Company only offers installation services. We had to clear the old fence line out ourselves, and we would have been happy to get a higher bid for the complete job. Of course, after tearing out the concrete and brick mess, perhaps I understand why they're not interested in that type of work.

In my opinion, the company is very difficult to work with, and the poor quality of their wooden…read moreboards and their competence and quality assurance is sadly lacking. If you use this company, be aware that they do NOT cover boards that split. We had this happen within the first year, even though we had weather-proofed the boards just after installation.
