About me: I just moved back to Hilo after 10 years, of course I need new furniture in my my apartment. I have been looking at what's online (cause that's how we show now days), but furniture is so hard to purchase online, especially in Hawaii because shipping and returns are a nightmare for large/heavy products. I was close to taking a gamble on some couches or recliners, but I was very hesitant. I passed by BedMart on my way to work a few times and saw they had a "furniture sale" banner hung up recently. I decided to call my girlfriend and take a stroll through as she too is looking for new furniture to fill her new apartment. Our experience: We went in at around 6:15pm on a Monday evening, not expecting much cause we've gone to other furniture stores when we were back on O'ahu. Nothing negative to say about other stores, but prices are very high, not to mention I have a Toyota Corolla. Not much will fit in my car so delivery costs were another added expense. BUT, as soon as we get into BedMart here in Hilo, it was a surprise to get a very different experience that we have been used to. CHRIS, welcomed us with nothing but positive vibes and great stories to share about his experience with both the beds and other furniture in the store. He was very straight forward about each item we were interested in and he wasn't trying to necessarily "make a sale," he was just talking stories with us about the different items we looked at and tested out. I love this approach as I didn't feel pressured or rushed to try anything or buy anything. He was a great resource of information and very friendly to talk to about our furniture needs and questions. Needless to say, after lots of furniture sampling and friendly chat, my girlfriend found a recliner she absolutely loved and I found a couch I couldn't leave the store without. There are so many things CHRIS/BedMart does to make purchasing large pieces of furniture, SO EASY! I won't spoil it for you! If you are looking for a piece of furniture, new bed, home decor, etc. I PROMISE YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED, go see CHRIS at BedMart in Hilo. I walked in with low expectations, I walked out with a great couch and only positive, low pressure experience dealing with CHRIS. I have been sleeping on the same mattress for 20+yrs because every time I have tried out new mattresses I have not found one that I find comfortable. do not shop here we got a beautyrest silver with pillowtop and in two months the mattress started to have big raised areas we called the store and they said oh yes we know that happens and tberes nothing we can do about it passing us off to a warranty website which is horrible to deal with. Bedmart Hilo absolutely scammed me so buyers beware they will not back their product- i was a cash buyer and i cant believe their attitude. As a bed-in-a-box veteran, I was looking for my first quality mattress purchase. After trips to a few other furniture places in Hilo, my husband and I ended up at BedMart. Philip greeted us promptly but let us peruse around ourselves. He waited until we had some time before coming to check in. He patiently answered all of our questions and gave his honest opinions on the quality and pricing of various mattresses. Philip provided the cost breakdown of our top three choices and helped us make the final decision. He was courteous, helpful, and not pushy at all, which is all we could really ask for! Overall good experience with BedMart from Sales team to distribution team to courteous and professional delivery team. I will name Ging, Gram, And Chris for your sales and customer service team and Jacob and Edgar for your delivery team. Starting from your sales floor, Ging and Gram displayed a lot of patience with my family in our search for the perfect bed for my grandparents and aunty. Both handled themselves in a professional and courteous manner. Ging did a wonderful job in explaining the differences between beds and displayed a lot of patience with my grandparents. Gram also handled himself in a courteous manner as my grandma asked him questions and tried out other beds while we weren't looking. LOL. We were so pleased by the services being offered and the deal given to us, we decided to go with BedMart for our choice in new bedding. However, there were a couple mishaps (human error but probably innocently done). Ging didn't check the numbers correctly when making his sale. He was short when quoting us on the disposal fee of old bedding (2 twin beds are actually 4 pieces to be removed (2 mattresses + 2 box springs)(they can't dump metal bed frames FYI) so we had to pay an extra $60 ($30/box spring) because Ging only quoted for 2 mattresses. Another mishap on Ging's part was he didn't check the delivery schedule correctly and promised us a Saturday delivery. We were then followed up with a call on Thursday by Chris informing us delivery for Friday is necessary for the Pahoa area and that Saturday isn't available. This was not going to work for us as my grandparents are elderly and sickly and such a last minute didn't sit right with my grandmother and she wanted to cancel the sale completely. This is when I called on behalf of my grandparents and Chris was able to assist when I asked if there was any way possible to squeeze us in on Saturday morning before they make their way to the other parts of the island. After speaking with his warehouse manager, They apologized for their company's mistake, and said they would honor Saturday. This was extremely helpful when it came to helping my grandparents set up the house for the removal of the old beds and install of the new ones. We very much appreciated the customer service and the accommodations the company took when owning up to their mistake. Now for delivery, both Jacob and Edgar handled themselves professionally and were extremely careful and courteous while moving the beds. They took care not to bang walls, or doors or corners and their install was extremely quick and took the time to explain everything they were doing to my grandparents and were very patient with them as they wanted to watch their every move because their home is old. Overall great job in how this company handled everything from start to finish and handled the minor mishaps as well. Had a wonderful experience at BedMart, initially I had made a deposit on a Tempur-Pedic box spring/ foundation from Mattress Firm. Unfortunately they were going to make me wait over 2 weeks to deliver it!! Fortunately I called Graham at BedMart and he had the exact same box spring for the exact same price and was able to deliver it the very next day!!!! Plus he was so friendly and the store was so well lit and comfortable to be in, whereas Mattress Firm felt dark and unwelcoming. We just left BedMart and said to each other, "DAMN - that was THE best experience we have ever had at a mattress store!" Or any similar store for that matter. Alejandro approached us when we walked in, listened to our needs (which were fairly specific), made some great suggestions, then left us alone to try out the mattresses on our own time. When he came back to check in with us he had pricing and in-stock details about each mattress - and was not pushy or high pressure in the least. We had planned on visiting another store nearby but decided we weren't going to find better service, selection (they have a LOT of mattresses!), or prices. My husband and I bought Ratana Chairs for our lanai/deck from Bedmart Furniture in Kahului, Maui. Recliner chairs and coffee table are beautiful and convenient. The coffee table which we placed between the two chairs also serves as storage for the occasional cushions. Sales people were polite and responsive. Delivery on time. I recommend everything about this business except its name. I was recommended to BedMart Furniture by a friend. Don't look any further, BedMart is the place to go. I spent a lot of time going from one bed store to another. Not one of the stores in Kona on the Big Island can compete with the fantastic low prices and customer service that could not be any better. They delivered my King & Queen mattresses in a very timely fashion along with hauling away the old mattresses and box springs. Went in to look for a bed at bedmart Hilo location at around 12:30pm. Shawn was the guy who helped me and he was very helpful. He even went over regarding their payment options. I had my mind set on getting me a new bed and I was ready to purchase with or without financing. Shawn mentioned their great financing option so I've decided why not try it. We went over the paper work and was set on the terms that he was promoting earlier on. Everything was set and I was approved and just needed to sign some papers, but I had to leave at 2pm to pick up my kids from school. So we agreed that I will go back at 3pm. When I went back, I thought i just needed to sign some papers and set the delivery and then it's done. Shawn said he will check with his partner if everything was good. They both came back and said that the promotion has ended two days ago and that he must have over looked it in his email. I was very disappointed not at the fact that they changed the terms but how they waited at the very end to tell me about it. They both were there the first time I was there and if the promotion did end as they said, they should have been more upfront about it. I believe that something like that can't be overlooked since they will be misinforming their customers! I still wanted to purchase the bed but after all of that, I decided not to give my business to them. After leaving the store at around 4pm, I felt like half of my day was wasted! Being in retail, I value my customers time and will not misinform them and I will be upfront with them. I am still set in getting me a new bed, but I am unsure if I will be going back to bed mart after my experience. read more

We initially saw the bed we wanted at Sears (of which we have never had a bad experience with their products or services), but we saw the same bed at Bedmart a few days later. We decided to give this new-to-Hilo company our business instead of Sears. So we made our purchase on Monday, and our bed was delivered the very next day, for FREE! Unfortunately I wasn't 100% sure I needed the box springs for my bed but purchased them anyway. We did not realize that sales were final at the time of our purchase. Because we didn't put it all together until I got home from work yesterday, by the time we unwrapped the bed and put it on our platform frame, Bedmart was just about closing for the day, so we didn't get a chance to discuss our issues with the box springs we purchased. So I will update you all on the outcome of my situation after we speak to them today. Stay tuned..... UPDATE: My husband was able to return the boxes we didn't need without a problem. It was a misunderstanding of our needs as well as their return policy and Bedmart staff was very understanding and courteous. Their delivery people were also awesome (did I mention their delivery is FREE!? You have to pay for delivery at Sears, Slumberworld, and not sure where else). We had one mattress replacement because it broke down with lumps on my side and my husbands. They replaced it and the new mattress is doing the same thing. Now they will not replace it even though we upgraded with more money so this would not happen again. They had us come in and pick a new mattress, brought it out to deliver and found we had put an egg crate to help with the deep holes in the mattress and would not replace the mattress that is less than one year old. DO NOT BUY from them. I think they are just redoing old mattresses and selling them as new. There is no reason why this new mattress would sink on both sides unless it is poorly made. read more
