i went to catch up with a friend on a saturday afternoon, and it was blaring hot outside. sadly, the temperature inside was also blaring. it is tucked away on bedford street, so you can easily miss it. but it is a cute spot to catch up and people watch, especially if you are sitting by the window. however, it got pretty loud at times, to the point where we could not hear each other even though we were sitting just a few inches apart. i got an iced latte, and it was just okay. it did not wow me at all. my friend also got a blondie, but she only had a few bites, so i am guessing she either did not like it or it was not that good. and there is no wifi on weekends if you are looking to do work or study here. read more

Super zen and chill coffee shop that is also a workspace. You can pay a certain amount to be a member here monthly or yearly. They have a couch and some tables and chairs to work at as well. It can also be a grab and go place. I got the salted Honey cappuccino that was pretty tasty. I told barista about my nut allergy as I am sure there are nut milks used here. She took every precaution and cleaned the spout for the milk and all. She was very nice. I wish the drink came in a bigger size... it was that good. If I am in the area again and need a caffeine pick me up I will be back. read more

A friend recommended this spot to me and I'm so glad she did. I was in town visiting and just wanted a cozy place to sit and read my book for a bit, and this was perfect!! They have this giant green couch that is very comfortable. I sat there with my coffee and completely got lost in my book. Exactly the vibe I was looking for. The coffee was really good, and I also love their membership concept where you have to be a member if you want to use a laptop there. Honestly I appreciate that a lot. It keeps the space from turning into a full coworking spot and keeps the vibe more relaxed. It is a pretty small space. There is one big couch and maybe six tables, so it can be a little hard to find seating if you come at a busy time. But if you get lucky it's amazing! Overall such a great little coffee shop. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in NYC. read more

Small cafe with limited drink menu. Drinks are good . Staff friendly. Seats are cozy and they have outlets for charging devices. Bathroom too. They seem to host private events regularly, so sometimes you will a sign saying closed for private events, luckily there are many other coffee shops nearby. read more

Ordered: Iced Passionfruit Matcha (~$7) Aya's take: I found myself at Bedford Studio when looking for an afternoon pick me up. The Iced Passionfruit Matcha immediately caught my eye. I love passionfruit flavor and I'm a regular matcha drinker. Unfortunately, this one missed the mark. The flavor profiles clashed way too much and the layer of passionfruit was too thick. Even when I thoroughly mixed it in, it would settle to the bottom soon after. I haven't experienced this with other drinks like this. It's a cute spot and they have a lot of unique drinks to try. I would skip the passionfruit and maybe get a classic latte here instead. read more

I had this place bookmarked for some reason so when I decided to have a break, I popped on by. This place often has pop ups it seems because it was not only decked out for the holidays but it was in partnership with another brand (piecework puzzles). The place is relatively tight. There is a retail portion where they sell aesthetic items (cookbooks, puzzles, accessories for gifts). There are a couple of tables and chairs but they were already occupied. They have a laptop policy (weekdays and certain times on the weekend). Plus a membership whose benefits were unclear to me. They had a special menu for the pop up and a general one. I bought an iced mango matcha from the General and a hazelnut chai (warm). I greatly appreciated the hazelnut and the flavors complemented each other. The mango matcha was decent. Overall, it is a good choice if you are in the area. Nothing I would go out of my way for but a chance to see something interesting. read more

An adorable cafe in the heart of the West Village. They do frequent brand pop-ups but to me that's part of its charm. There's always something going on and the pop-ups are really fun. They post them on their Instagram to announce them. Compared to other shops in the area, I think the drinks are very well priced and are quite good! But what stands out here is the staff, everyone is so kind and so sweet. You can tell they really love what they do. read more

I'm not familiar with a laptop policy for such a small space where I am using my own hot spot, and I have only just entered and purchased coffee. I think a 30 minute grace period is acceptable or a policy based on how full the space is when you enter. I ordered a hazelnut chai which was tasty but I was instantly bombarded on a Friday after 4pm that I need to pay to open my laptop on their table. I could easily sit there with my phone and not be charged. There were many coffee spots in the area, this one wasn't using there space well to charge for sitting with your laptop. read more

Poshmark take over. The only reason I even give it this rating is because it was a Poshmark takeover. The space is cramped and truly unorganized I saw a lot of there stuff laying out. The seating is a little limited and not very good and drink friendly or comfortable. The drink was good but if I would have had to pay the retail price versus the pop up it would be expensive in my opinion. read more

Horrible scammy place. They charge you $10 to use your computer because it's a "community workspace", which is a rip-off in itself. But then they blast music at nightclub volume. So which is it? How can they expect people to pay to work at their computers, then create a totally disruptive environment that is anything but work-friendly? On top of that, the two women behind the counter kept going on and on and on about random nonsense about their lives so loudly. I suppose they have to speak loudly to hear each other over the blasting music. Lastly, the coffee was meh. I stop by here every time I come into the city and it's a cute place, but I won't be coming back again. Came here at 8:30am and pull out my computer to send a quick email before heading to my appointment. Nearly every single table in the shop was open. There is one other customer in the place. I was asked if I was a member (of a coffee shop???), and when I said no, I was informed that I'd have to pay $10 for a day pass to use the Internet. I asked if I could just send one quick email and the girl replied that I could send it from my phone. If I could send it from my phone, I would've done it while I was walking. 10 dollars to take 5 mins to send one email in their empty shop. Right... no. And the Americano was way too watered down. Was in the area and it was freezing and I needed some caffeine so I checked this place out. Very milky latte, which was tasty but not nearly enough espresso for my needs. Also very pricey for what it is. I paid almost $10 including tip (tip your baristas!) which is a little ridiculous. Bedford Studio is an interesting concept where you can get a day pass to work in the space. The place also serves coffee and matcha and small treats. I got their iced latte and seasonal mango matcha. I found out about this place because they started following me on IG and I saw that they offer a workspace option for $10, which is super affordable, but you can only sign up onsite. When I got here, I realized that it can really only fit ~9 single parties, maybe 15 if you're a group of 2. The door is always slightly ajar, which keeps a draft coming in, where you only want to sit closer to the interior (I came in winter). They do have plugs for charging your devices, which is a plus. They have coffee and pastries but no lunch option, so you'd have to leave for that and can't bring in external food. The coffee drinks I had (so many specialized options) were delicious, but on the pricier-side. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's also very quiet, so you'd feel awk trying to take calls here (but people did!). Music is vibey, but also makes you want to lowkey fall asleep. They offer memberships, but I'm not sure how they work with such a limited space to work. The space is nice and bathroom is impeccable so it's good if you need. a place to hop into last minute to work, but probably not a place for an everyday occurrence. read more
