Gas here is priced at $6 a gallon currently. The next gas station approximately two miles down the road is selling gas for $3.40 which is already expensive but on par for the area. I don't know how they've been doing this for years, apparently; but no signage on street for prices, and full service to lull you into a false sense of security, and then $45 later for HALF a tank of gas. Do not stop at this station for fuel if you can help it. They are full service and are not upfront about pricing. I got out of my truck to go to the restroom and when I got back, the attendant was done. I looked at the pump before getting into my vehicle. I needed a little more than 13 gallons of gas and it cost over $80 to fill my tank. Bedford Shell is literally committing highway robbery. Either fill up in NJ or wait until Connecticut. I needed gas while traveling on I-684, the light came on. I went to the Shell station in Bedford and a man was standing by the pump to pump it for me. I needed to use the bathroom so I headed that way. I know that in NJ they pump for you, wasn't sure about NY. I was shocked to find that I paid over $100 to fill the tank. I write what is for me a very rare review to praise the service garage at the Shell station in Bedford, NY. I have learned that the gas station and the service garage are separate (hopefully it is acceptable to note this) and you may notice that the service garage gets stellar reviews while the gas station does not. I have had my car repaired at the service garage and have found it to be one of the few gems in this world: pleasant, talented, responsive and reasonable on price. We got low on gas and stopped here because it was the closest gas station to the highway. We couldn't believe the price! We paid $6.159 per gallon for 87 octane unleaded gas and didn't even bother with more than five gallons because that cost almost as much as a full tank at every other gas station we stopped at on a trip through Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Mind you, this was the price they were charging in April. I can only imagine how much more they're billing people for now! read more

I stopped for gas on my way out of town on Tuesday this week and got gas. Regular, about 16 gallons. Not sure what the price was (as it's full service and they pump for you, so no receipt), but I'm sure it's not $5.80/gallon. My card was charged $95.58. They charge the highest gas prices I have ever seen, and I drive up and down the east coast bi-monthly. This is by far the most per gallon anywhere ever. As you'll note, a common theme across a number of reviews of this Bedford (NY) Shell gas station and service center is how crazy much it (the person behind it) charges for gas: NEARLY DOUBLE THE COST of surrounding-area stations. Like others who've left reviews, I was traveling north on 684 when my gaslight went on. Stopped here. Got out. Stretched my legs. Inserted my credit card. And then noticed that regular unleaded was nearly $7 per gallon. Pumped two gallons. Put the nozzle back. And stopped near Waterbury CT to fill up the tank. read more

I got off the 684 because my gas light came on and the next exit was 5/7 miles away. I could not believe the price of gas at this Shell station! 5.49per gallon for unleaded using a cc and 5.39 per gallon for cash. In my opinion this is price gouging. I know this is Bedford but wow! Visited 2-1-22 for a Carco Inspection- was promised a 15-20 minute aptmt (I was on a bit of a time crunch). Showed up had to flag someone down to get any attn, although there were several staff members congregated in the back of the shop seemingly not-busy when I arrived...took my insurance ppwk, told me to wait outside in my car, which I did for about 12 minutes. At that point I called into the shop to see if they were coming out to start the inspection or at least get my car in the shop. the one person who answered the phone didn't seem to want to help, told me he was 'just one of the mechanics' there and to 'hold on', then I proceeded to hear him mock me at tell the other gentleman that 'this lady is upset and blah, blah, blah' literally mocking me without even putting me on hold. Then another person picked up the phone, when I asked how ,uch longer bc I had another apptmt on the backside of this one, he didn't answer other than to say aggressively ' what did I tell you? What did I tell you how long it was going to take?' then hung up on me- I called back and was hung up on again. At that point I stormed into the office and demanded my insurance papers back and asked for that person's name which he didn't give and instead ran to the back. If you want professional or courteous service DON'T patronize this establishment. The staff is apathetic and rude. Conversely I drove 10 mins away to Ethos Car svc and had an amazing experience- quote white glove by way of comparison! read more

Hands down the worst gas station I have ever encountered. First, the prices are absolutely outrageous (notice they do not post them). This is a free country and they can charge anything they want -- and I can choose to go elsewhere. But the people there are incredible rude and dismissive, the place is grimy and gross, and the overall feel is toxic. I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

Apparently this is not news, but this station is 1. three miles from the exit where it is advertised, 2. only full service, and 3. cost me $81 to full up my tank (plus a tip to attendant). Their prices were about $2 above average NY state prices. read more

I stopped in this morning on my way to work to ask about fixing my flat tire. I've been resigned to driving in my donut all day after first stopping at the Mobil on Pound Ridge Road and being told by that angry little man that this is an "all day job" (???). Jose stopped what he was doing, took a look a my tire,asked me if I had 10 minutes to wait (I did), and then fixed and replaced my flat tire!!!!
