They showed no care or empathy to me while I was screaming in pain during my labour and despite asking multiple times, they REFUSED to provide me any pain medication. One of the staff members was Venus and others I do not remember. I was by myself, I kept ringing the bell and asking to assist with pain assistance but they did not budge. Venus would stand there to observe me and then just move out without any compassion or assistance. At the end I was fully dilated and they had to rush me to the labour ward for delivery. My water broke in the corridor in front of waiting patients!! As soon I reached the labour ward my daughter was born within couple of minutes. I had severe pelvic pain and diabetes in pregnancy which was not taken into consideration during my care. My pelvic pain got worse after delivery and it tooks me months to recover. I was so upset and it has taken me months to recover from the trauma of being treated horribly at Lewis Ward. I will not recommend this hospital to anyone!! Absolutely pathetic.

It is also were I had my first sonogram and was able to see her for the first time inside of me. (welling up) Through out my entire pregnancy this hospital was like my second home (along with my local GP) I felt comfortable and in knowing hands. Even during my routine blood tests, were I fainted, they were always very helpful and by the third time they had some sweets handy, just in case. However, I will recommend to those mums to be, that care in the birth centre is so much more specialized and nurturing than in the ward. Of course, that is if you have decided for a natural birth. The midwives are gentle and understand how scary it can be, and they are there from beginning to end, you feel special. They don't let you give up. They are trying to incorporate yoga and visualisation classes as part of the ante natal clinic, which I was a test for, I hope they manage to, I believe it really helps.

England doesn't exactly have the best reputation for teeth or dentistry. But the time came and we had the insurance so off we went. I was holding off on writing this review until I had some real work done by Dr. Dickson. So yesterday I went on line to his handy dandy appointment website and booked myself in to have a cracked filling replaced. I think he is the best dentist I have ever had. My cleaning was actually pleasurable. No blood. My filling replacement well, it was dental work so I can't say it was pleasurable. What I can say is that apart from the Novocaine shot I didn't feel any pain. Even now that the numbness has worn off I feel totally fine. My filling feels very natural and like the old one when I bite on it. You know how sometimes you can just tell that someone is good at what they do? I get that feeling here. I think he is not only good at being a dentist but he really likes it and wants to make you as comfortable as possible. I also like that he really explains what is going on so you know what treatment you need, what treatments can wait and what is really important. Plus I can say that he is the first dentist ever to not mention my tongue piercing. Usually I get a lecture. Nope, nothing. Thanks again Dr. Dickson!!

Additionally once an appointment is made with the doctor, one is usually able to list his concerns with the doctor, who then gives the medical advice, perscription, or a referral to a specialist. oh, not the case with NHS. I understand that there is way too many people to a GP ratio, however i feel it is unacceptable for GPs to treat patients like they're cattle!!! Dr Silva who is one of the partners at the GP, can show complete disregard for what you are feeling, symptoms, or what treatment you have gone through, or ARE going through. In his book, you will probably start from "A" which is absolute nonsense. He is very rude, and inept with very little respect for his patients. Unfortunately the GPs that actually can be semi-helpful only work at this surgery once a week. Need to move on.

Our experience has been disastrous with doctors and nurses so incompetent that it is, sadly, sometimes comical. Recently a nurse recommended to cure a quite serious infection by drinking cranberry juice... we ignored the advice, went to see a private doctor who immediately gave antibiotics as it was so bad! It is really frustrating as with the GP system in the UK you have to go through the local medical centre first before being able to see a real one if you have the chance of having a medical cover. Complete waste of time (and public money) for most of our visits. If you live (or move) in the area there are other options available worth looking at. PS: Just to to them again (June08) about my daughter having an eye infection - Sorry we are full today, call back tomorrow at 8am, we cant give you an appointment for tomorrow nor garantee that there will be a doctor or nurse available.. helpful he?

For Just one unit of blood they made me wait more than 24 hours! I had to spend the night there, without any information, except.."you have to wait". Night doctors never came to see me, morning doctors on Sunday came to see me after 10;30 am. A procedure that normally takes 6pr 8 hours it took more than 1 day! There are no communication between that team!!! I had to return on (13/02/2025),10 days late to the ED department at Charing Cross Hospital. After my horrific experience 2 weeks ago, and this time it was just as horrendous as the first time. I arrived at 9:30 am. to get my second blood transfusion that my doctor sent me 2 days ago. After having waited for 6 hours, a doctor came to told me, in the middle of the hallway, that they didn't think I was needed another transfusion, so he was very sorry but I had to go home. And I told him, "after having me waiting 6 hours, that I am here because my doctor told me two days ago that I needed another transfusion, because my anemic. You don't even ask me routinary questions about how I feel. and you tell me, you just think that I do not need it? And He answered me, very calmly, yes I'm sorry, we can't do anything! I have been treated in public hospitals my whole life. I have even been treated in this hospital many times, and always was fine. But the ED service in Emergency department, is the worst I have seen in my life, those people do not communicate with each other, they make you wait for hours for everything, they have almost no communication with the patient, and the only two times I was there I felt that they gave me very careless treatment.

And my doctor coming back to see me even after he took off for the day. I have to reserve the fifth star. I want to blame one person, but at the end of the day this is a hospital and it should be systematic and no one should have to wait from 10:40 to 5:30am to get to sleep after a major surgery. None of the amazing nurses on my floor could help me. All they could do was call an Asian gentleman which I believe is a nurse so that he could he took a very very long time coming up and when he did he gave me 1/2 of what appeared to be a Valium. (Took him hours to deliver). I explained to him that I just had major surgery was woken up by my neighbor in a very loud voice and that I have insomnia since I was brought home from the hospital at three days old. At home where it is legal I smoke marijuana and go right to sleep like a baby. However, When I am in places where it is illegal I require temporary meds to sleep. Function. I'm OK with that once in a while but I did tell him that my tolerance was very high my weight is not 103 pounds like some ladies and I told him the dosage that I used to go to sleep when I'm on a plane or in a foreign city with jet lag. (2mg Xanax) they don't have that here so he gave me a half Valium. Zero efficacy. Took other half 45 min later when he allowed. Nothing. 5am still awake. Terrible. This all began at 10:40 PM it's nearly 5PM I still haven't slept. last night I slept 1 1/2 hours. My blood pressure is extremely dangerously low right now and lack of sleep does not help this. This is literally a 99.9% hospital and staff but this is a major problem and it hurt me. now I'm getting fluid for my extreme low blood pressure. Still no sleep in sight. Insanity.told me that regardless of the need for a patient - only one Valium per persoN can be given for sleep. The problem is how we metabolize drugs is completely different from body to body size to size and even physiology comparing a 90lb woman or a 165lb woman or a 250lb man. Or someone that takes international flights And has to pop something to get past the jet lag and work. I'm posting this review Because im exhausted ands I was just moved from the hall (where I don't have to be in dead silence) back to my room - wired from the lack of sleep medication afTer a major surgery. The lady on my floor told mE no one gets more than one Valium to sleep. If my plastic surgeon did that to me diiring our inpatient work - I would never be able to fet through our surgeRies. Abuse is one thing, but taking a surgery patient with less than 3 HHS's of sleep. In 48 hours - and telling thEm one size fits all And then dumping them in their room is not how I've e bbeen treated in ssimilar situations. In the ER part, I had to scream and scream at the top of my lungs writhing in pain for hours. I didn't need to be drugged out of my mind, but not administering enough morphine for 8 and 10mm stones, should be a crimee. Finally, later someone, I think my doctor, gave me an ACtUAL effective dose that took awAy my pain and aallowed me to sleep for two hours. people with major surgery require SLEEP to HEAL. One size does not fit all. 1040pm to 5:00am was a very ugly, jittery painful nnight of no sleep afteR major surgery. Other than this experience all else is great. (had I know I would be treated like a drug seeker) I would have gOne somewhere else that can help with pain and healing sleep modalities quicker and more effectively. These were the largest stones stuck in my kidneys in 30 years of pushing out a total of 38 sTones. I feel Bad for hyper people liKe me. Healing is near impossible without sleep. Less than 4 hours since admitted 48 hours+ but I feel worse for the people who have came before me and experienced this and for alL the others that will if someone with compassion and a greater understanding of physiology and absorption. no body is created the Same. He didn't even interview me. It wouldn't have matteered either, he has one half rabbit in his arsenal. And for me it might as well have been a placebo. Game me no eye contact or acknowledgement. Even while I was speaking with him. This went from THHC best experience to a deeply disturbing one.
