The first time I…read morestayed in a room on the ground floor and the second time I was upstairs, and I must say the quality sure was different! The shower in the ground floor room didn't work too well and the dial on the radiator was broken. The room upstairs was nicer and had a larger desk area with a better layout and was close to the kitchen so it was much nicer. There is 5 rooms in total, each with 2 beds (either 2 single or 1 single plus 1 double) and a common kitchen with basic cooking utensils, a fridge, microwave, small tv and washing up liquid. There is no breakfast or food provided here, but there is a Dunnes only 5 minutes away, and there are a few bars and cafes in the area as well as Spar and Londis. The heating is the storage kind so it's quite cold in winter and takes a while to heat up, but for the low rate of €30 per night I'd say this accommodation is pretty nice albeit basic. There is also free wifi! By the way, there are no toiletries, hair dryers, toaster, can opener etc. so it's best to bring anything you might need, although there is a clothes iron. The walk to the hospital is 20 minutes.

The coffee was a nice tasting Espresso which I enjoyed, and the service was pretty quick too, but then again it was 8 am with not many customers yet. The prices very reasonable especially for the amount you get, and everything is around €4-7. They have a good few basic options like eggs (poached/ fried/ scrambled), porridge, full irish, a la carte extra options like roast tomatoes and mushrooms. The restaurant itself is like a dining hall, not too big but still spacious. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the food and service here.

Situated not to far away from, what seems to be, the happening town of Coothill, the location boosts both entertainment and beauty. An information booklet provided in the room shows all the activities and sites of interest in the area. The room was lovely. It was en-suite, had a massive bed and was beautifully decorated. It also had a TV with lots of channels and DVDs to keep you entertained, a nice touch. The lady who owned it delivered epic hospitality along with a breakfast to match. Sleeping in and missing it just wasn't an option. All who stayed loved it and felt the price represented great value. Self catering apartments also seem to be available.

Very walkable to the city shopping strip and waterfront 5 minutes away. Breakfast was great from what I ate. Drank wayyyyyyy too much the night before with a local dude named Mouse and his posse.
