I Have a small cat and she is not very sweet when she is left alone or in a cage. I had an…read moreappointment scheduled for 2:30 and it was Confirmed by me and the Vets office. Then they text me at 4pm ish the day before to say that the Vet has an appointment with her Children the next afternoon and will not be able to make our appointment. I had already been told about the appointment with her children the next day that is why we scheduled the appointment for 2:30 before the appointment. So I guess the Vet decided that we were the last appointment so she should cancel it and then get off early. Meanwhile, My cat has a swollen paw and needs to bee seen. Oh we can drop her off and they put her in a cage until they get a minute to see to her. Doesn't matter if this is upsetting to her only if it is convenient for them and they get to leave early,,, So I guess caring about the patient doesnt count or how she will feel being stuck in a cage for however long it takes to finally get around to her. I thought that VET EMILY cared about her patients,, I guess I was wrong.. WE will find a new vet one that will actually care about their patients and not mind to keep their appointments once their confirmed unless its an EMERGENCY,,

So far I have brought a bald rat with and eye infection and a dwarf goat for a check up and tetanus…read moreshot and I could not be happier. The entire staff treated my pets like they were there own. They keep a very clean facility and the staff are professionals through and through. I appreciate that Dr. Emily will take the time to respond personally to questions/concerns and even at later hours. I will be taking my goat for a procedure in the next week and update my experience then. I don't suspect it will change. They do take Care Credit so that is helpful for the more expensive trips. They offer an early drop off which is convenient for my schedule. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic. It is a hidden East Texas gem.

I wish I could give this place more stars. It doesn't get better than this…read more Considering my dog needed emergency surgery and the state of mind I was in, I have to say that this entire experience was the best. Dr Wood is very knowledgeable yet speaks in an easy to understand manner. He and his staff are kind, compassionate and very professional. *applauds* He made sure that I understood what had happened to my dog, the procedure that was needed, the possible complications and asked if I had any questions. He wasn't rushed and answered all my questions thoroughly. The quote was accurate. The follow up appointments went just as smoothly. It really doesn't get any better than this. The staff is always pleasant and professional, not only in their behavior, but in their appearance as well. Genuine smiles and clean/pressed scrubs. The office is immaculate, the furniture and fixtures are in good repair, the fish tank was perfectly clean. I was actually LOOKING for something wrong with this place and couldn't find anything. If there were awards to be given, Lone Star Veterinary Clinic, Dr Wood and the staff would get the highest one available. I have several other dogs and will gladly be bringing all my dogs to Dr Wood. I have FINALLY found a vet I can trust for my fur babies. Do I recommend this place? Absolutely. I'm local to the community, however, if you're not in the immediate area, it's well worth the drive. Bravo! *high five* Well done and thank you for everything.

I never write reviews, but I do not want anyone to experience the heartache that Lone Star Vet…read moreveterinarian clinic has caused me and my fur babies. Firstly, I am from a small beach town in Southern California called San Clemente where the medium home cost over $1 million. This veterinarian at Lone Star charges more than the vets in California. Here in East Texas people don't have that kind of money and there are dogs running all over that aren't being taken care of because vets like Lone Star has gotten so extremely expensive. They have absolutely no Shame!!! It is no longer about taking care of the animals for this veterinarian clinic, but it's all about the money! Worse than the cost of money is the pain and suffering that they cause my pets and I at the end of their lives when it should've been peaceful, turned into a complete nightmare not once but twice! My first bad experience was putting my little King Charles Brody down. The doctor gave him the euthanasia and Brody laid down quietly, and I thought he had passed. All of a sudden he woke up and he was gasping for air like a fish out of water. Dr. Wood told me that Brody didn't know what was going on, but how can he tell me that when there were three people standing there and the dog was only looking at me for help. I should've left at that point, but I hate change and they admitted to their mistake so I continue to take my beloved pets to them. My second dog just happened five weeks ago. He was a 16-year-old Chihuahua with lots of problems. I had decided to put him down, but I just wanted the vet Dr. Warren to confirm that I was right. I should be able to ask my vet, her opinion and expect for her to tell me the truth. She started taking a lot of tests which were very expensive, but the biggest problem was that the tech had manipulated him to take an x-ray of his heart. When I got him home, he couldn't walk at all and he was in terrible pain. I had to take him again the next day to put him down after a very long night of pain and suffering for the little guy. That Vet knew that I was right and should've put him down. It totally got away from me because of course I didn't want to put my little dog down. He was 16 years old with trachea problems, kidney problems, heart problems, back problems, and prostate problems and she convinced me not to put him down. I told her several times that all I cared about was his quality of life and that he did not have to suffer. She knew he should've been put down. She just wanted more money. I will never forgive myself for letting her talk me into doing that to my little buddy. It makes it so much harder to get over my loss when you have to experience such a bad thing before it finally happens. To have to take him two days in a row to be put down was horrible. I don't have children. These dogs are my children. After five years, I am changing Vets. I can't even bring myself to walk into that clinic ever again.
