I cannot say enough about how much of a god-send Kristina has been in my life. From the beginning, she has been nothing but kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in helping me grow. Despite the many challenges I've complained, struggled, and cried about in the comfort of her presence, she has always been patient and understanding in a way that most therapists aren't. She goes above and beyond, not just offering consultation and advice but truly helping me process my emotions and thoughts. I cannot express the gratefulness I have for this woman! I told her…read moreat the first session that my insurance would pay for just six months, and I couldn't continue after that. And I explained that I was there for EMDR, for both childhood trauma and marital betrayal trauma. She refused to start EMDR until 3 or 4 months into treatment, then, she insisted on several talk sessions between each EMDR session. So by the end of my six-month window (which I reminded her of several times), we had only completed 5 EMDR sessions. A simple google search reveals that 7 EMDR sessions at the VERY LEAST are required to even begin to see positive results. She was fairly friendly until the last session, in which she suddenly turned on me with a very nasty temperament and a ridiculously inaccurate diagnosis, for which I would have to pay out of pocket for a $65,000 residential treatment (so she said). My husband of thirty-plus years was an MFT, and he knew full well that the diagnosis was ludicrous. Clearly, Hanlon had held back with EMDR, to leave me hanging in a constant, severe state of trauma at the end of six months. I can only assume that she was trying to manipulate me into spending more than six months with her, maybe paying off her lovely Rocklin house. To boot, her nasty little dog, which she "needed" at every session, growled at me constantly.

For example, if Silver Pathways connects you with a board and care home for a family member, once you sign the agreement and pay your admission fees, Silver Pathways gets a "cut" which is fair and understandable; they are a business after all. Just be aware that the businesses that Silver Pathways is in these types of structured commission agreements have been utter disappointments, hence my long overdue review: Silver Pathways was recommended to me from an out-of-town family member who did a Google search and really was trying to remotely help me during a tumultuous time. I now wish I would have never let this person "help" me and my family because Silver Pathways is not in business for the right reasons. The only real positive that I can say about this business is that the owner and her assistant are responsive and communicative. Now, for the rest. The folks who they will connect you with are complete and total garbage. There is a Lewis Carroll poem called 'The Walrus and the Carpenter' that comes to mind when I think of how I so trustingly followed the lead of Silver Pathways. I was connected with a board and care in Auburn called College Way Residential and they were a dumpster fire and a half. This place had zero business acumen, and the owner, Delia, is a passionate and religious nut job. I was also connected to a now defunct business called Pacific Home Medical whom refused to take a return of two, brand new and unopened pole grabber things, even less than a month after I purchased them and had the receipt to show my proof of purchase. After thousands of dollars of business had been done with them in a week's time, I felt they were trivial in not accepting the return of maybe $30.00 and I felt that they were really kicking me when I was down. Months after I met with Silver Pathways, I got connected to Senior Care Solutions in Sacramento, but they also work with Placer County services. Senior Care Solutions is a legitimate business who connected me with many good folks along the way. Save your time, don't work with Silver Pathways, and go straight to Senior Care Solutions. And if Silver Pathways reads this, don't bother reaching out to me. The damage has been done to your reputation and I hope you are on the receiving end of such horrible care in your old age. Karma is coming for you.

Joy does NOT have the ability to do your work for you and lastly Joy does NOT by any means sell herself short on the services that she provides. Joy, you are an absolute god send. Seriously.... I have been thru various counseling all of my life but that didn't resolve my issues nor did it really give me the tools needed to actually resolve them. So since I had tried that previously and pretty much got the same result, I knew I had to try something different. So, what did I do? I went to my trusty yelp and reached out and received several responses. I had a few phone interviews because I needed to find the right person to help me thru some heavy stuff. I liked Joy right off the bat. You can simply tell by the tone in her voice that she is an angel. I signed up for 6 sessions with Joy...and after my 6th session, I signed up for 6 more. And I threw Joy some crazy challenges (nothing in my life has EVER been easy)....there were issues that she flat out told me she couldn't do anything about (I appreciate the honestly more than you know) and there were some issues where I really feel like I challenged her but guess what? SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME. SHE NEVER TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION (again she doesn't have a magic wand). Instead what I received was far far greater than any gift...Joy gave me the tools I needed to see where my deficiencies came from and also gave me some positive insight as to how to fix the behaviors and this is something I now work on EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's made me a better person. So if you feel like you are stuck, and don't know where to go, and you have tried traditional methods (and they haven't really worked) I would seriously urge you to give Joy a call...set up and appointment and more importantly work on your (O&*%(Q*&)%(.
