He was speaking to the football team about techniques for improving the mental game. He was spot on and had a direct and positive impact on our team. I decided to try going to him for help with my life long "eating" disorder. I tried multiple therapists and in-network Kaiser sponsored people and it was one dismal failure after another. I was not hopeful that anyone could give me the tools needed to aid me in the battle I had with myself for control. He gave me an amazing tool set and it was simple! It is also incredibly effective at helping me stay on top of my behaviors. It is no lie when I tell you that he changed my life. He is thoughtful, calm, and speaks clearly. His office is clean and light, and conducive to you absorbing the information he is giving. His process requires some interaction from both of you but if you continue to use the best practices he recommends and teaches you, you will be better in 3 or 4 sessions. I now wish I would have never let this person "help" me and my family because Silver Pathways is not in business for the right reasons. The only real positive that I can say about this business is that the owner and her assistant are responsive and communicative. Now, for the rest. I was connected with a board and care in Auburn called College Way Residential and they were a dumpster fire and a half. This place had zero business acumen, and the owner, Delia, is a passionate and religious nut job. I was also connected to a now defunct business called Pacific Home Medical whom refused to take a return of two, brand new and unopened pole grabber things, even less than a month after I purchased them and had the receipt to show my proof of purchase. After thousands of dollars of business had been done with them in a week's time, I felt they were trivial in not accepting the return of maybe $30.00 and I felt that they were really kicking me when I was down. Months after I met with Silver Pathways, I got connected to Senior Care Solutions in Sacramento, but they also work with Placer County services. Senior Care Solutions is a legitimate business who connected me with many good folks along the way. Save your time, don't work with Silver Pathways, and go straight to Senior Care Solutions. And if Silver Pathways reads this, don't bother reaching out to me. The damage has been done to your reputation and I hope you are on the receiving end of such horrible care in your old age. Joy does NOT have the ability to do your work for you and lastly Joy does NOT by any means sell herself short on the services that she provides. Joy, you are an absolute god send. Seriously.... I have been thru various counseling all of my life but that didn't resolve my issues nor did it really give me the tools needed to actually resolve them. So since I had tried that previously and pretty much got the same result, I knew I had to try something different. So, what did I do? I went to my trusty yelp and reached out and received several responses. I had a few phone interviews because I needed to find the right person to help me thru some heavy stuff. I liked Joy right off the bat. You can simply tell by the tone in her voice that she is an angel. I signed up for 6 sessions with Joy...and after my 6th session, I signed up for 6 more. And I threw Joy some crazy challenges (nothing in my life has EVER been easy)....there were issues that she flat out told me she couldn't do anything about (I appreciate the honestly more than you know) and there were some issues where I really feel like I challenged her but guess what? SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME. SHE NEVER TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION (again she doesn't have a magic wand). Instead what I received was far far greater than any gift...Joy gave me the tools I needed to see where my deficiencies came from and also gave me some positive insight as to how to fix the behaviors and this is something I now work on EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's made me a better person.
