I've know Lisa "in the mom circle" for years. I'm on her email list and I follow her on social media for all of her wonderful pearls. When my son was around 4 or 5 my first "class" was a month of Special Time ideas. It was amazing how helpful adding in these 10 minutes each day could be. Next, I purchased her recording "How to Talk to Your Children About Death." I didn't have anyone actively dying but knew it would come in handy sometime so I tucked it away. Sadly, a close friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few months later. The course was so helpful in how to talk to my son before and after my friend's death. I've attended her "5 Quiet Morning" many times. It's such a peaceful and thoughtful way to start your day. I recently attended her mini retreat. It was part (art) therapy, letting go and support. I look forward to attending another. Lastly, after all these years of following and knowing Lisa my husband and I recently signed up for coaching. We needed help with behavior issues surrounding our son at baseball. She was extremely helpful with multiple ideas on how to help us. Lisa helped guide our family through the process of peaceful parenting and continued to provide consultations as needed as we grow as parents and as our children grow older. We began by attending her peaceful parenting 101 class and walked away with some pretty useful tools to implement. We struggled being consistent as time went on and enlisted her as a coach; which was just as helpful. She is a very good listener and is thorough with her questions prior to the initial consultation. There is a great emphasis on self-care and modeling the behavior, in our case it was to model a lot of self-regulation with the hopes that the end result is the child mimicking the modeled behavior. We are happy to report that this last year, our now 7 yr old (and oldest of 3), has shown a huge amount of self-regulation and that is shown, by him using the tools we modeled and offered him. The hard work for us has been regulating our own emotions which comes back to the modeling part. This is the hard work, it's absolutely necessary, and we are willing to take on the challenge of undoing all we learned as kids. Lisa is an extremely empathetic coach and very flexible. Lisa at Becoming Peaceful is simply amazing. I've taken several classes with her including Peaceful Parenting 101, The Becoming Playful Workshop, and have attended the Peaceful Mama Support Group. I have walked away from each session with actual techniques that I can implement immediately - not theories and concepts I still need to work through in my head, but actual things I can do right away. I took Lisa's Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids Workbook class and my husband attended a Peaceful Parenting 101 course. We both attended different support groups - one for moms and one for dads.
