I took parenting classes and maybe it was just my group but we all found a common ground. It was like making friends in a life changing situation. Knowing we aren't the only ones dealing with issues, or just going through it alone. Being able to hear others out and see things from different perspectives while being taught different ways to approach and handle situations from our children to our children's parent was highly beneficial to me. I'd go back for any continuity courses held and recommend this program to anyone seeking help! read more

I finished classes in Jan but everyday I remember what I learned and how much I actually want to go back and resume since things were better when I was in class. Ruth was the best counselor/coach I can ask for. When I started I was a complete mess and mad at the world but progressively with just hearing all the positive lectures it all stuck in my head and I saw things differently. We all tell her "when we get mad or want to react in a bad way her face appears" lol. keeps my anger to a limit. Shes the best around and would highly recommend Ruth to everyone. read more

I called this agency for a friend to ask some questions regarding a form this agency had filled for a client of theirs. My phone number was not blocked. Ruth was the one to answer the phone, which was a public phone number I obtained online. She asked for my name and the person's name who's form she filled out. I was not comfortable giving my name or anyone else's name so I presented my question in a manner that would eliminate providing names. My question was does their agency provide individual and group domestic violence classes and Ruth said yes. Later that day her client called my friend and said that I had called this agency asking questions and he made other comments. Because I did not give my name or anyone else's name, the only way this client would have known that I had called this agency, would be if Ruth or someone else at this agency had retrieved my phone number and or name from the agencies call i d and provided this information to the client. I am confused and concerned as to why Ruth or possibly someone else at this agency would provide my phone number and or name to their client, especially since this agency addresses violence issues. read more

Words cannot begin to express the Director Ruth Shepersky and the services she offers at her welcoming office located right near Old Town Trolley Station. She does Parenting Classes and is a court approved Domestic Violence Counselor for men and women. I was in 16 year relationship. My now ex was something else altogether and I learned a lot but it also cost me a lot being in that relationship that I didn't even know was toxic until my ex came clean after 14 years.The next 2 years spent trying to heal and move on but it didn't work no matter how hard I tried. I'm a good person and never want to fight with anyone. Ruth see's the good in all her students and expands from that. Truly a unique and wonderful experience. I've had to do these classes a couple of times and out of all the classes in San Diego Ruth and her services are by far THE BEST. Some people come all the way from Oceanside just because she's that good. She has the biggest heart and is the most sincere, understanding, educationally inspiring counselor I've come across. I used to dread going to these classes because they're usually so mundane and just really lame. Ruth Shepersky makes all the difference. If you need or want any parenting classes or have to or want to learn about having healthy relationships or court ordered DV classes from a Court Certified Counselor, this is the place to be. The people there have such great energy and Ruth just adds and attracts that much more positive vibes. She is warm and welcoming, genuine, and has a heart of Gold.
