A farm shop selling local produce, sandwiches, salads, pastas and baked goods in a rural location on the edge of Birmingham.....its just lovely really. I have been coming here since I was a child wit the family for food and stuff for the kitchen.....however yesterday's visit was for a quick takeaway lunch in the shape of a salad bowl. You can have anything you like from the sandwich board as a pasta salad or salad bowl giving you any number of healthy options here. I went for the cajun chicken and smoked cheese salad bowl with beetroot.....it was delicious. I went for the honey and mustard dressing which was also lovely but sadly not homemade. If you are not watching your waistline this place would be a day out....fresh and homemade cakes, sausage rolls, pastries, pork pies and so many other things pack the units and fridges......I have to admit I was SO tempted but after a 45 minute spin class where you can barely stand up when you get off the bike you do think twice. If you want some good locally sourse veg/produce check this palce out. its only a short drive from Maypole in south Birmingham and well worth a look.

Came here after doing our shopping w/the mister and dad-in-law. Since I've come to England, we're getting used to not having a Whole Foods Market and/or Sprouts around (as was the case in SD), and farm shops here are quite plentiful. I wasn't expecting very much food, because we were only after a snack (the pasties had just run out in the market - note - Saturdays are pretty busy here). I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my steak sandwich with melted cheese and caramelized onions (salad on the side) and ate it pretty quickly. The rooibos tea was great for washing everything down as well. All in all, everything was great aside from the 15-minute wait - but the food more than made up for it. FYI - there's also a little cafe tucked in between the flower shop and the restaurant.

Very convenient with beautiful countryside setting, good service, reasonably priced with fresh cooked food from the farm.

Excellent breakfast, absolutely huge portion. Had the full Irish. Best advice - starve first.

The Big Comfy Bookshop - Folk music at the bookshop

Cute, quaint, quirky, cosy and homely little bookstore-come-cafe (:…read more It's average opening hours are 11-6 during which time you can grab a slice of cake, tea, coffee etc, have a peruse through some books, and chill on their big comfy sofa! I find a lot of coffee places just don't really want you stay and they have hard, uncomfy furniture to reflect that. But not here! This place often has events that extend its opening hours, too. My favourite is the 'big comfy folk club' which are folk and acoustic sessions hosted on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Next one is on 4th March and tickets are only a fiver! Brilliant intimate venue, and the performers usually stick around for a while afterwards which is nice (: OH ALSO, WINE! The big comfy book shop serves alcohol! Live music + book shop + cake + red wine = total winner. See you on the 4th!

I really like The Big Comfy Bookshop!…read more It is a quant used book shop that is family owned. The owner spent over a year compiling books to open his shop, and ever since has kept a good variety of books that are unique to customers, or a popular search result of a used book. There is always fresh coffee, tea options, beer and wine, and some sort of snacks like crisps or cake for sale. Seating is available to hang out with friends for a little while or to start tucking into your future purchase. Also I noticed that live folk music nights and game nights regularly occur here too! Great place!

Situated on an A426 between Rugby and Lutterworth, the calm within is amazing and the wealth of gift ideas and quality goods for home and garden. Visit their website and read about the history of the farm and, in particular the barn itself? It's an education. An absolute must, and my main reason for visiting regularly, is the refreshment area. It really is sublime. There is a small seating area right opposite the counter which, in the colder months, has a log burning fire. There is a larger and very comfortable seating area in an upstairs lounge with mixed seating.sofas, armchairs, tables.another log burning fire which is regularly attended to. Sink into one of the cozy chairs and watch the traffic pass yet at the same time feeling, as if perhaps, you are somewhere else? An impressive array of homemade cakes etc., awaits your attention when you place your order which, even if you choose to take a seat in the upstairs lounge, will be brought to you by a member of the pleasant staff. For a light lunch you may try their delcious homemade soup with a roll? I would be happy to recommend this establishment to my female contacts as a place for the unaccompanied traveller to stop and rest a while in a spotlessly clean and safe environment. Worth a detour!!

Located right opposite the swimming baths and gym, I always end up having a brew before a gym session. Being this side of Harborne, works to Boo Boo's advantage as you don't have to take a walk down the High Street which can seem like a mammoth task on a Sunday morning! Every time I have been in, it has been very busy. With a couple of outside tables and a massive window, it's great when the sun is shining on us. The Coffee is most excellent because they use Allpress espresso beans from London which gives their drinks a massive edge over most places some places in Birmingham. Single origin is offered though a Chemex, another brew method not often seen in the second city. If Coffee and Tea isn't your bag then I can recommend one of the many smothies they offer, which can have protein added to them. Boo Boo coffee is very family friendly and you can pop your little ones in the play area they provide. This place has been come a favourite place of mine to have some alone time or catch up with friends. Sure you will love it!

I couldn't see anywhere advertising the sort of beans or specifics used. The coffee does stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best in Birmingham though. The store also serves typical brunch which is available all day long. If your looking for a quick coffee or some brunch in harborne I would highly recommend it here!
