I phoned into the dealership to report that the new Ram 1500 that they very recently delivered to me had a rat's nest under the dashboard. They left the truck outside for a very long period of time at their dealership and a rat must have made a home inside of the truck. This was confirmed by my local dealership whom I love but did not have the truck I was seeking so I bought from Beck. We wanted this truck so badly that we paid sticker price for it. There is plenty of money in Beck's hands to play with in this situation. My local dealership is Firkins Chrysler in Bradenton, Florida. I highly recommend them. Beck wanted me to deliver the truck back to them but would not assure me that the chewed-up wiring harness and any other damaged parts would be replaced with factory parts. Without assurances that they would replace the damaged wiring with factory wiring, I could not send the truck to them for repair. This is a new truck. We have had it for less than two weeks. The rat's nest was an old nest. This happened at Beck's yard, not my yard. They even said that they did not trust Firkin's diagnoses. They said they had to diagnose because Firkins Chrysler could be lying and cheating. All I wanted is for replacement parts to come from the Chrysler factory, but they would not guarantee that would happen. It is easy to give 5 stars when everything goes well but a real 5-star company comes through when times are tough. I will pay Firkins Chrysler about $2,000. to have the damaged parts replaced with Chrysler parts. A new truck should be repaired with only new Chrysler parts and the Beck dealership should be honest and foot the bill, but they won't. read more

I took my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Beck Jeep in Palatka to diagnose a warning light problem that came up on the vehicle. The warning light said "SERV 4WD". The service department supposedly hooked the vehicle to their diagnostic equipment and came up with what the representative said was 3 possible issues. Either a transfer case range sensor, transfer case motor or the transfer case needed total replacement. The representative said that the range sensor should be replaced and said that was the main cause of the warning light issue. So I told him to replace the range sensor. The next day, they called and said the vehicle repair had been done and I could pick up the vehicle. I picked up my Jeep, paid them over $700.00 and drove home. Not long after I got home which was over 40 miles away, the warning light came on again. I contacted the service department by email about this problem and they refused to even get back in touch with me must less take care of the problem. So I took the vehicle to another repair shop who diagnosed the problem as a faulty transfer case control module. Obviously not one of the 3 possibilities identified by Beck in their "diagnosis " of the problem. So the control module was ordered and installed at a cost of less than $300. However, after that was done, the warning light was still on. So I took the vehicle to another larger Jeep dealership service department to figure out the problem. They discovered that the new range sensor ( obviously unneeded in the first place) installed by Beck Jeep had been improperly installed. Beck had neglected to set the timing on the sensor which made it inoperable. Once that was corrected, the warning light went out and the vehicle runs properly now. The larger dealership charged me less than $100 to properly diagnose the problem and fix it. Beck's failure to properly diagnose the problem and install the correct part caused me a lot of problems for a couple of weeks. I would not recommend anyone taking their vehicle there for repair. I do intend to get a refund of my money from Beck. read more

I truly would like to take my Dodge to Beck for service but, Here is the quote from a service writer " we charge $150 for diagnostic fee then we charge $225 per hour to repair...plus parts of course. $thats $375 for the first hour, folks go to another dodge dealer for repair. Atlantic Dodge in St. Aug is only $140 per hour, heck my BMW dealer in Jax only charges $199 and hour. PLUS Beck charges 3% to use a credit card, no wonder people on Palatka are broke, sorry pronounced Beck...good grief read more

I ordered a new steel bumper for my Ram back in 2018. $500 for the bumper and to have it primed and painted. Don't think you could find that kind of deal now. They presented it to me and I noticed a scratch in the fresh paint. Upon bringing this to their attention, they went back to work on it and told me to come back in a few days. The second time I went to pick it up, they offered to install it onto my truck for no charge. I was very satisfied with this courteous act due to the delay. read more

I decided I needed new car after months of not really liking mine for work. The next day, PJ, the sales manager, called me about my inquiry. It just so happened that I was driving someone else's car and was stuck on the side of the road. PJ stopped what he was saying and offered to pick me up or help in any way, so right off the bat it was great customer service! I got to go to the dealership after work and PJ and Alex helped find what I wanted and needed and showed me some cars that fit the criteria. The first car was great but they showed me other cars to compare. I ended up choosing the first one because of all it offered and for such a great price! They were really enjoyable to work with and I am in love with my car! PJ also offered to help at any point after we bought the car, even if it's being stuck on the road again! I'm not from Palatka but this was the best dealership I've dealt with in such a long time! read more

I bought a used jeep from Beck on a Friday. I left it for them over the weekend to prep it for delivery-pick up on Monday. During pickup, we were told that the salesperson, who was not working that day, had taken the spare key home with them. Instead of him bringing it in, they opted to mail it to us. We live about an hour away. About a week later, we get an empty, torn, paper envelope in the mail; no key. We called the salesperson, Allen, and he said that management would not pay for a key. We would have to $500 to replace the key that THEY lost. I argued that they were responsible for secure delivery of our spare key and they should have at least sent it Fed Ex with insurance. Now they will not return my calls. Worse yet, now someone out there has a key to my jeep and they have my name and address from the envelope. I hold Beck responsible if someone steals our jeep or harms my family. They obviously do not care for their customers after then close the sale. read more

I was in Palatka for business and decided to get my oil changed in my jeep. I ordinarily use Saint Augustine Jeep. Upon arriving at dealership I sat in my jeep as instructed for almost 15 minutes before the service advisor came to the jeep. Advisor (Dustin) seemed pleasant, but in a hurry and obviously needed some help. I waited for my jeep which was uneventful for the most part. Waiting room is available and is adequate in terms of waiting rooms. After a couple of hours I saw my vehicle in parking lot and proceeded to cashier to get my keys. The next day or so my fiance and myself took the jeep to the mountains 6 hours from are house. The last 15-20 miles of the trip the jeep started to run very hot and when we turned off the highway to go up the mountain to our cabin the jeep completely shut off twice on 2 different turns we made. By the time we pulled into the parking lot of cabin the jeep had plumes of smoke coming from engine bay. after lifting hood oil had covered the engine bay and the entire undercarriage of the car. After checking the oil the dipstick showed almost none on the entire stick. This explained the jeep shutting off... No oil pressure engine will shut off. looking more into it I found the oil filler cap completely missing. Obviously the dealership did not replace the cap after oil change or did replace correctly. Consequently, I had to find a cap immediately and replace 4 quarts of oil!!!! 1 that I always carry and 3 from a local store. I immediately called Beck with no answer. I did not get a call back until later that evening. I was then told by the service advisor He was sorry and would take care of everything. Suffice it to say "taking care of everything" tuned out to be proverbial BULL S*%T! Taking care of everything amounted to paying me for all the oil and cap I had to get emergently. However, It took 7 weeks to get reimbursed. And, being offered a free oil change which I did not need because I had already done it and my jeep has an maintenance package for oil changes for the life of the vehicle. I explained many times any and everything that needed to be done to the vehicle was already done, and frankly not at their dealership because I had ZERO faith in BECK and their empty platitudes. At one point I was asked by the service advisor what I would like and I answered that Beck could pay to have my care washed at my local care wash. You guessed it NOPE.... NO CAN DO.. The biggest foul in all of this the was I was never offered any diagnostic or inspection on my jeep even though it probably had less 2 quarts of oil in it by the time we found out of BECKS incompetence. I have always avoided the dealerships because I had a previous bad experience that made me scared that I would be stuck with a bill I couldn't pay. I had no choice but to take it to the dealership this time because I had an electrical issue we just couldn't figure out on my Chrysler 300. I have to say that this has to be my most awesome experience with a dealership ever and I can't recommend them enough. Now, I am back on the road in less than a day. I saw a Jeep Gladiator online and the pricing seemed off. The MSRP, the price of the truck, and the discounted price were all wildly different. I called the dealership to get some numbers and to see how much the vehicle was. The first salesman I spoke with started to explain the different prices and went off on a typical car salesman tangent about trades when I told him I wasn't trading anything. After a few minutes of asking why the MSRP is $38,705 but the price of the truck is $42,xxx, he finally says that because of demand, they are selling them for $3,000 over MSRP and that every dealership is doing the same. Dumbfounded by that statement I said, "just so I am understanding you correctly, you are selling Gladiators and Wranglers $3,000 over MSRP?" He replied with "yes, everyone is" I then said "well not everyone is. I have been in contact with multiple dealerships in the area and you are the only dealership so far that is doing that" to which he replied "good luck finding one then" and then hung up on me. I was shocked and confused as I was just looking for clarification as to all the different pricing because it's confusing. After that interaction, the confusion in pricing, makes sense. They want you to be confused. I called back and asked to speak with someone different because the first salesman was rude. They connected me to someone else. I explained what happened and said I was just trying to understand the different prices. He also went on a car salesman tangent about trade ins after I told him I didn't have a trade. He finally gets to the point as to the different prices and also tells he they are selling at $5000 over MSRP. The first guy told me 3K over and the second guy told me 5K over. So which one is it? The second guy also told me "he doesn't know what other dealers are doing and doesn't care what they are doing" I don't know if he has ever heard of a thing called the internet. You can find out pretty much anything, including real time info and prices of what dealers are selling vehicles at. Saying what he said is such an "old school" tactic and so unbelievably outdated. The most expensive Gladiator I have found in the past week, not including from them, was $500 over MSRP. So he should want to know what everyone else is doing because then they would be more competitive. Unbelievably bad customer service. read more

3 months and still no Jeep nor reimbursement as promised. Bought a used Jeep that belonged to the General Manager from Beck early Jan with less than 10k miles, basically new. Popped a check engine light a day after purchase. Ok, not all vehicles are perfect so I'll keep it and hope its an easy fix. The GM did offer to reverse the sale. In hindsight it was a flag that there was something sketchy. It took a couple of months troubleshooting and the GM promised loan payments for my troubles(still no payment after multiple inquiries and lies of mailings). After back and forth from Beck I waited long enough for them to never repair the CEL. During the whole process I was not allowed to speak to the service manager or anybody other than the GM. He later admitted that he knew about the light from his purchase and recommended I take the vehicle to a more experienced mechanic. It took the next dealership a couple of weeks to get the first problem fixed only to uncover a bigger problem that was due to poor maintenance practices. Early on I asked the salesperson and the GM to provide me the maintenance records so I could understand all the tool marks and obvious maintenance done on the engine. All I got was lip service from both of them. The Chrysler representative informed me Beck was responsible for the maintenance that I was inquiring about. Currently my engine is being almost completely rebuilt due to the poor maintenance performed by Beck's technicians. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone to buy a vehicle nor have maintenance done. Worst purchase and experience I've been through buying a vehicle. read more

This might be their best day but today's experience with Beck has been disappointing. Brought my truck in for an oil/fuel filter change. Easy enough, right? The tires were due for rotation so that was done as well. After some time passed I was notified that I could pick up my vehicle. When I check the vehicle information system, the oil and filter life readouts have not been reset. Oops. A technician fixes the oversight and we drive off. Half a mile later the low tire pressure warning comes on telling me that the front tires are overinflated and the rear tires are under inflated. Oops again. Back to the dealer--again. On this truck the front and rear tires are not inflated to the same pressure and the tire pressures were not adjusted after the tire rotation was done. As I have had generally good experiences here before I will try to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves but one cannot help but wonder what else might have been neglected. The service manager apologized profusely and I do hope that a serious improvement in quality control will result. For now, I will consider this facility to be on a well deserved probation. read more

After speaking to the internet sales manager, I was given a black and white, documented response to my 15' SRT's trade-in value and overall increase to my current loan ($3,180.53 to be exact). I mentioned $3,000 over my current loan, numerous times to the sales manager over our multiple methods of discussions, and he readily assured me each and every time of that financial figure. So, I took off work and drove well over 50 miles yesterday to Beck Dodge to purchase a beautiful 14' Ram Power Wagon; as I was under the impression like most they were an upstanding dealership and the sales department was honest. When it came down to the final numbers however, I was then given an out the door price.. With an additional $5,000 added (now nearly $8,000 over my current loan), with no competent explanation how they provided the previous out the door price 'down to the penny' (other than 'hook-line-sinker' sales tactics to get me into the dealer with false information). When I declined, he then stated how they have quite a few other Rams on the lot for sale. He was speaking as if I had lost $250 in salary and driven 50 miles, to trade-in my 15' SRT for simply 'any' Ram truck; but anything to make a sale, right?! I can picture multitudes of buyers falling for this horrifically deceptive sales tactic, as it's difficult for most to say 'no' and simply walk away; it was even difficult for me at that time. You just don't treat people like that and expect a positive review, especially to a fellow Veteran with his spouse sitting in her military uniform beside him (Yes, she also had taken off work to meet me there, as well as my father, a retired Veteran with 33 years of service). There was a time when a mans word and firm handshake meant something, obviously those times are long past at Beck Dodge. Hopefully this helps someone else before they make the same mistake I did, trusting Beck Dodge of Palatka. read more
