For a small restaurant a fair way out of town Beaver Meadows provides really good food, artfully presented and at a reasonable price. The vegetables are fresh, the beef burrito was topped with green chili sauce and sour cream. The rice is cooked in chicken broth giving it a nice flavor. My wife loves the bison meatloaf served with a haystack of fried onions, a delicious mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Very good service ( she even remembered the lime on my refill of Diet Coke. Quant ski lodge decorations and a beautiful view of the ponds, geese and horseback riders. If you have a dog they have picnic tables outside and they are dog friendly if you're dining with your pet. read more

Had dinner and breakfast here. The food and service are fine, but it's the only option, so you take what you can get.

After an excruciatingly long day on the road, the Hubs and I were famished. Unfortunately, we were considerably late for dinner, but the later time didn't hinder Isaiah from making us some amazing Manhattans for us. The cool and super educational conversation surrounding local spirits, bourbon, and craft syrups was a lot of fun. I should say, however, much like my two last reviews, Isaiah's "Tip Me Well" face could use some work. read more

I don't know what's gone wrong, but that was without a doubt the worst service I've ever had. The waiter didn't seem to know the menu, he didn't bring us all the sides, didn't ever come back to ask how the meal was. The food came quickly enough but the fries were ice cold and the cups with coleslaw were barely half filled...which was probably OK because the coleslaw was tasteless. I think we got the last of the pork ribs because my portion was about half the size of my husband's and both were full of gristle. Unfortunately, we came because it was a special occasion. read more

Came for a late lunch after horseback riding and we were so pleasantly surprised with how tasty everything was! The margaritas were 10/10, tasted so fresh and perfectly balanced. The chef came by to talk us through the menu and we went with the chili, tortilla soup, and birria tacos and it was all delicious. They make everything from scratch. Definitely recommend! read more

surprise - good pizza in the middle of the mountains The Pizza was very good service was great The Service - I wanted a traditional old school pizza with pepperoni, mushroom, onion and black olives. It was not on the menu(a few cool pizzas but no traditional on the menu) so we asked for it. The response was No problem, we can make that for you. The waitress worked with all of our needs and was great. She also remembered that when I ordered earlier, I identified my allergy and issues with some foods including cheese. My buddy commented, what are you doing ordering cheese. I explained I wanted to get pizza to go for my friends that could not come tonight in Crystal Lakes. The Food - Wow, The pizza was thick, hot, loads of cheese. I stopped by friends homes on the way back. One was home and I offered a hot piece of pizza. They really liked the pizza and commented that there was a good balance of toppings and that we have just not had good pizza up here for decades. They plan to get some pizza in the future. My friend traveling with me also grabbed a piece of pizza and he loved it. Location - My friend has not been to Beaver Meadow for 12+ years and said it is a slice of heaven like a living postcard. I agree, I am a local and I enjoyed sitting for a bit and walking the dog around the wonderful grounds while they made the pizza. Having good pizza to dine in or to go is an amazing new addition to the mountain dining options. I will be back and so will the people that I took pizza to. read more

Visiting from out of town. After a long afternoon of fishing, went there for dinner. Got there at closing time. We offered to leave but they were willing to serve us. We had the steak special which was well cooked. The kids had usual fare and loved every minute. Friendly folks seem to be trying hard and willing to go the extra mile. I don't need fancy, just good food and good service. And they succeeded on both accounts. Not sure why they close at 7:00 during the summer. read more

Shouting loudly about the amazing Beaver Meadows Restaurant! A large group of us ate at the restaurant on Saturday February 13. We devoured the 48 oz steak special (read that again, 48 oz) and the meat was cooked to perfection and served with piping hot mushroom au jus, creamed spinach and roasted potatoes. The kids enjoyed plentiful appetizers including deep fried mushrooms, truffle fries and crunchy lightly battered onion rings. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and fun. The restaurant was full and despite that he provided prompt service. Our meal was the talk of the weekend and we are looking forward to our next trip to this restaurant. We decided to try it for Lunch after tubing and was pretty disappointed. Food was bar fair at best and the service was even worse. I had to walk around to find napkins and silverware after we were served our lunch and had to take our drinks up to the bar to get refills. I guess there doesnt have to be standards when you are serving a captive audience but if you have a choice, you will find much better food and service elsewhere. read more

We were here about 2 years ago and had a great experience, so were looking forward to lunch after horseback riding this time. It seems like the restaurant is under different management since everything was so different this time around. It was a whole lot of things that added up to a poor experience for everyone in our party of four. First, we had to ask for every single thing - menus, napkins, a plate (only 3 were brought out when we had 4 people with 4 different orders), utensils, catsup. I could go on but won't. The food took forever to come out and was disappointing to say the least - salty and greasy. Ok, so it's not on Michelin's Restaurant Guide so not totally unexpected. The worst for me was getting a horrible "strawberry margarita" I could barely choke down when I ordered a regular one and then being charged an outrageous $10 for it. No prices on many menu items. The cherry on top was getting the bill which was just one total figure. Forget getting an itemized receipt - they don't do that. Some 3rd party billing company will text or email you one, however, the itemization amounted to "current amount" for every charge. No way to tell what was what. Won't be back to the restaurant. On the positive side, our horseback riding experience was a polar opposite to the restaurant experience. The women who run the stables and trail rides were fantastic. Very efficient, professional, and knowledgeable about the individual horses, the area, and the trail. I'm not a horseback rider but this experience made me want to do it again, and soon! Great food, huge portions! We enjoyed eating on the restaurant patio each night (it's dog friendly) and taking a pizza back to the cabin with us. Very nice staff, beautiful community grounds, nicely manicured and maintained. Dozens of hummingbirds will join you on the patio. We were able to let our dogs off leash to play with the pack of resident dogs while we ate. It was a good time. Locals visited to eat and were welcomed by resident staff with hugs. Overall 10 out of 10. We will be back again! read more

We walked in on a Saturday night to a not busy restaurant excited to try a local place! The restaurant was not busy and had two servers working, and after waiting 10 minutes with not 1 person acknowledging us we got up and left. Didn't feel welcome here and would not recommend. read more
