Adriana is the absolute best hairdresser around. She always gets the color exactly right. I used to see Adriana at Timeless Harmony but I really didn't like the vibe there at all. I tolerated it bc Adriana is so great but it always felt like the movie mean girls with the owner hiding behind corners and gossiping. Highly recommend Vanguard and Adriana!

It's probably the nicest job I've ever had done (which includes the high end stylists I used to go see when I lived downtown 6 months ago) Also very easy and convenient to book online, they send you a reminder text and automatically book it in your calendar which is awesome. Furthermore, their website has the estimated time and amount for each type of job which is amazing. The owner is particularly interesting, valuing her workforce team as the top priority. She ensures it is a no-drama salon and wants to keep it that way. As a single mom of 2 and business owner she even taught herself how to do accounting for the business on the side, which shows nothing but dedication. Long and short of it from what I found is that they are amazing people that do an amazing job for an amazing price. I have no doubt that this place will fill up fast, now that salons have been allowed to reopen. (They are also SUPER safe and hygienic, everything is sanitized, everyone wears dual masks)

I bought my mom to Designer's edge for a hair cut and she loved it!…read more My mom hasn't had a "hair style" for decades. She always opted for the cheap $10 hair cut that simply trims your hair without any creatively or style. Since my mom didn't know what kind of style she wanted, Lalin was very patient in explaining what type of hair styles will suit my mom's age and face shape. When she suggested a bob, I was a bit apprehensive about a bob on a 67 year old Asian women but when she was done, my mom looked like she was 57! The salon is conveniently located at the intersection of Wellington and Yonge just behind the TD Bank. It was clean and spacious. Lalin is super friendly to talk to and above all, a truly talented hair stylist.

She even stated that all her other clients were not complicated and they were all easy and that's why she's always had good results. I went here after doing immense research when my normal hair stylist went on medical leave. So I thought this place would be a great match. Boy was I wrong I'm still devastated and it's been one month later. She turned my chocolate cherry brown hair into some strawberry weird mess and couldn't follow a simple. I said layered, she took that as cut it all off until I can't even put it into a pony tail. I warn you. She can only process pure 100% Virgin hair and I wouldn't trust her with a pair of scissors near my head ever again. Well I wouldn't ever let her go near my hair regardless. And to top it off. She was rude as I was crying in the chair and said I was never allowed back. Not like I would ever go back but who says that after they've butchered my hair?!?? Pics attached are of the bleach she dumped on my head (she didn't even use a toner after or anything. She has no idea about the colour wheel and has no idea how to get rid of certain tones in your hair) then I've also attached a pic of the "finished product" Before this my hair was to below my shoulders....

He charges $30 for a cut, and it's well worth it. The salon itself is pretty hype, very nicely designed and spacious. Chairs are comfortable too. The parking situation is a little limited (there's street parking and a small parking lot at the back...can easily park in a nearby parking lot if you can't find). I'll definitely be back soon for a haircut from Houman!

I got…read moremy hair RUINED by one of the "master" stylist to the point where it was so over processed I went somewhere else and they had to cut off over 6 inches. I could literally see and feel my hair breaking off, don't think I've ever cried that much in my life. My hair was long, healthy and soft and ever since coming here it's been dead. Not only did I have to pay for the balayage (which was expensive on its own) but I've also now had to spend $100's of dollars on Olaplex products to TRY to fix my hair. All I want is to get my hair to how it was before. Every time I look in the mirror all I can think about is how short and damaged my hair is now and regret ever coming to this place. If I can give you one piece of advice it would be DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! I've never posted a review but once I figure out how to post photos I'll post the before and after and you'll see the damage they did to my hair, it's bad!! :( Adding the pictures, the left was my hair right after my appointment and the right is a couple weeks after. (ps. my hair wasn't actually that orange, it is the light) but you can see how much shorter my hair is and that my hair is now super thin, breaking and falling out. I'll be honest tho, This picture doesn't even do it justice of how bad it really was, parts of my hair weren't even reaching my shoulders from the breakage and the parts that were were breaking with every touch. My hair now it just past my shoulders with how much they had to cut,, YEARS of growing my hair out RUINED. Never been to a place as bad as this! :( If I can save even one person from having the same terrible experience I'll be happy cuz this was honestly THE WORST experience I have ever had. :(
