This is my go to beauty supply store. They have a very large and diverse selection of goods. If this store doesn't sell it then you probably don't need it. Lol. The store has a large selection of wigs, human and synthetic hair extensions, makeup, hair care products, and accessories. I generally receive good customer service. I was super impressed with the size of the store and equally disappointed with the racial profiling of the Asian woman. I went to the store on Saturday, March 14, to purchase some jewelry for my hair because I was getting my hair twisted a few doors down at this hair salon. After I got my hair twisted, I went back to purchase a few additional items. As I stood near the front of the store looking at the selection, I opened the little container to smell the product. The Asian woman started yelling at me telling me not to put my finger in the jar. I was startled because I know better and would not dip my finger in any product not labeled tester! I told her that I had not put my finger in the jar and asked her what was her problem. She told me she saw me do it. I was embarrassed. All she had to do was come over and check the jar and she would have seen there was no finger print. Instead, she chose to humiliate me in front of everyone. I really should have walked out and not given them any business, but I was so startled that I purchased my supplies and walked out. I'd never go back. It was a horrible experience and given all the racial profiling the Asian community is experiencing with COVID-19, this Asian lady should do better. If you don't like to be discriminated against, don't do it to other minorities. read more

Sadly one of the most racist experiences I've had at a beauty supply, or a shopping experience period. I was shopping with my mom and they were following and staring at us the whole time. Immediately, my mom and I were so uncomfortable because it was obvious they were assuming we were stealing. I had to basically announce we were stealing and that we won't shop here any longer. What a mess, they're so racist it hurts. To be in a predominately Black county, it's truly dissapointing that they have such a negative opinion on the people that give them business at all. Why open a beauty supply, which is frequented by mainly Black women, just to racially profile them at any chance? read more

I think this is one of the best beauty supply store in PG county. It is well organized and has a great selection of items. They also have hard to find items that's I haven't been able to find at other stores in town. Mike helped me and he was friendly and helped me find the items i came to get. The prices are in line with other beauty supply stores and their Design Essentials section is a little cheaper and is the biggest selection I've see. read more

This beauty supply store is HUGE! The prices are fair. Customer service is great! They seem to be very knowledgable about all kinds of hair. I only wish they had more hair choices to choose from. Now don't get me wrong I think they have a huge selection of hair but there are a few other beauty supply stores that aren't too far from this one that has a more diverse selection of hair. They have tons of hair products, jewelry etc. I'll be going back soon. read more

This place is nice and I've been MANY times. They greet u when u walk in. I'm there so often they recognize me when I come in. HOWEVER, in one day I experienced two issues. First, I purchased two hair curling halos. I sent one to my mother in California. Hers was missing a snap. I told the lady about it and she said to bring it back with the receipt. Of course I no longer had the receipt or the product bc I sent it to California. Nor was I planning to pay to have it sent back to me, which would cost more than the product. She told me to speak to the owner. He basically said the same thing. I asked them both if they would simply give me a discount on an item now like $20% and I'd be fine with that. They both said no. I also said u can look me up in your system to know I did purchase these items bc I'm a member of their discount club. They said no. I reminded them of how often I come and would they be willing to lose my business over this and not willing to provide me with something to cover my loss on the halo. They continued to tell me to get it from California, which essentially meant yes we are willing to lose your business. So I refunded the items I purchased just before speaking with them about my issue and haven't been back since. Issue #2: The same day, as I was purchasing my products (before above issue occurred) the lady at the register (same lady) rang me up but as I stood there with my credit card in my hand to give to her, she had no idea because the entire time she was watching three young ladies in the make up section like a hawk! She kept turning around and staring at them while I just stood there then she'd scan another item then look over her shoulder and stare at them. Clearly monitoring them to catch them stealing something. She wasn't alone in the store so I'm not sure why she was so focused on them. There were easily 4 or 5 other employees there yet she HAD to be the one on alert all while I stood at the register. They want our black dollars but don't want to give us respect while we are there. No one should be watched like that when they're in a business unless you've already experienced them shoplifting or causing trouble. It was a major turn off for me!! And unfortunate because I can walk there from my house. I want to support the businesses in WTC but can't when this is what I get from them. read more

Low prices compared to other beauty supply stores in the area. Let's face it PG county has a ton of beauty supply stores that are the size of grocery stores. Yet Beauty Mart is a nice size and has everything that I need for my hair for a good price. The two older ladies I think they might be the owners were very helpful and didn't follow me around the store and ask me every 2 minutes if I needed help. I guess in the bougie town center that the store is located in they expect everyone to have money. Which is good because it gets annoying going into beauty supply stores and getting followed or watched from the moment that you walk in. read more

They have a pretty good selection of hair, cosmetics, and hair care. I was able to find a particular crochet hair here that I couldn't find at 3 other stores. The store is a decent size and has a good layout. There are associates readily available to help you. I wish they put prices on all of the hair. I had to walk to the register to ask for prices. This beauty supply store is my favorite in my area because of their selection, but I discovered a few things that were of putting and wanted to share. This store is located in a majority African-American neighborhood/shopping center where many people of color shop. I know people who come out their way to come to this store. It was brought to my attention that the managers/owners don't care about this community or us at all, they just want our money and a good reputation. I've seen myself and heard from other friends and family members that the managers dump their trash front the store on the curb or out front for someone else to get or leave it there until trash day. When I saw this I told them that wasn't right and the male manager said he didn't care. I drove by a few days later going to Wegman's and the trash was still there and spilling out onto the sidewalk. This past weekend, I went because I really needed a mini edge control for my purse and couldn't find the brand anywhere else. I opened the jar today for the first time and a SPIDER crawled out. I called and a female manager told me to come in now to get a new one, even though their policy is no returns/exchanges on those types of merchandise. I guess she doesn't want a bad rep for the store. Overall as I said I love the variety of different products and the selection they have. I just wish the managers did what they were supposed to do as part of the community. read more

Had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE here when I finally bought some hair from them. The hair I was looking for was on sale coincidentally. I guess now I know why. Beware. I spent $150 on hair that lasted 1 week until it completely broke down into a matted mess. When I reached out to the store to explain the situation the man on the phone told me to call the hair company and then proceeded to tell me how his hair was straight and that maybe it was my own hair that was the problem. I guess he was insinuating that I have nappy hair or something. Basically I will never use this place again and recommend any black woman to avoid it as this is how any customer service situation is handled. Today I went into the store the one in Woodmore with my MCM backpack which is my purse on my back. The young African-American said welcome and can I help you find something I pull up the picture of the hair product that I wanted and she showed me where it was. I then asked her where the hair bows where and she told me where they were. As I was on the phone with my friend looking at the hair bows the same young lady can by and said excuse me, they want me to tell uou that you have to leave backpack up front. I told her for what, this is my purse. She said I'm sorry. I told her that I will not leave my purse up front and handed her the item that I had in my hand and walked out. That qas my first time there and will be my last. The manager/ owner should've came to talk with me. I'm not leaving my $800 purse up front while I shop in your store. You have cameras so uou would know if I was stealing or trying to steal something. If I was not African-American would uou have asked me to leave my backpack /purse up front. The business doesn't deserve one star but I'll give it because the young lady qas pleasant to me. read more
