I discovered the salon randomly when I used to work in the area. I no longer work nearby, but I still make the drive from Fort Lauderdale because Lorena is that good. This is a Spanish-speaking establishment; however it's never been an issue for me as, Google Translate is a great tool, and the receptionist I wish I knew her name is amazing. She always answers my texts promptly to book appointments, speaks English, and is great at translating if needed. She is typically there, which is helpful in this appointment-only salon. The salon is small but always clean, and they are constantly busy, so be sure to book ahead. Prices are very fair for the quality of service you receive. I get a gel manicure and regular pedicure, and my nails typically last three, sometimes even four weeks, which is crazy. My nails have never been so long and healthy. As an extra touch, they serve Cuban coffee, which I absolutely love. If you are looking for an affordable, clean salon with great customer service, this is your place.

Since I was anxiously looking for a mobile service , I didn't hesitate to book the appointment when I received a text from Karol. When the day of the appointment came I received a picture from the owner indicating what door I should utilize to access her studio. At that moment I realized the mistake and explained the misunderstanding and offered to pay a cancellation fee. At which point the owner proceeded the charge me for the full service. $130. She argued that she had sent me the address (which is untrue), and that she doesn't offer mobile services although her square profile clearly states 'they'll come to you' under location (see attached picture). Against my wishes, and after a lot of back and forth with the owner, I drove to the salon, which is very far from my house. She sent me a screenshot of what she received from Yelp, and although it didn't specify that I was looking for a mobile service, it clearly showed that I was looking for services in my area, which is very far from her salon. Nonetheless, I decided to make the best of it. I chatted with other customers, the owner, and my nail tech. My nails took a long time, but I didn't mind too much because I was very happy with the result. By the time I was done with my nails, I wasn't feeling my best and wanted to get home, so I informed the owner that I wouldn't be doing my pedicure. I was told that I would be charged for it. I couldn't believe it! Logically, I got the pedicure - I was already there. As an entrepreneur myself I pride myself in providing the very best customer service. Sadly that is not what I experienced today. While I understand that the misunderstanding wasn't entirely the salon's fault, it wasn't mine either. Meeting me halfway would've been a more appropriate response. And forcing me to pay for a pedicure as well was unnecessary. I was so pleased with my nails that I was actually considering going back and recommending the salon to my daughter who works in the area. However, after having experienced the inflexibility of the owner, lack of accountability and poor customer service, I won't be returning and my daughter refuses to go, as well. If anyone is looking for a mobile service beware that this person doesn't offer this service although her square profile states that she does. I called to book my appointment and acknowledged my Dealtificate up front (not always a wise maneuver, but alas, I'm a sucker for honesty). They were happy to accomodate me on the date I was available. I arrived at the small-ish, yet serenely pristine salon across from the Mayfair. It's a vision of clean lines and stark whites. My nail tech took me in right away (note: there's only one nail station) and offered to bring me something to drink (what...I don't have to desalinate ocean water?? Even though I came with a Dealtificate? Seriously??). I was situated in one of those vibrating Sharper Image massage chairs (mhmm) as she set to work on my pedi. Efficient, clean and quick, I was incredibly happy with the service. Same goes for the mani. There's not an incredibly huge selection of nail colors, so you may be best served bringing in your favorite candy-colored polish. The salon manager was there as well, and he was incredibly polite and professional -- even helping me take my keys and wallet in and out of my purse so I wouldn't smudge my polish. And when I invariably did (It NEVER fails), the nail tech gladly touched up the damaged polish on my nail and I was sent on my way. So, when my questionable cuticles start beggin' for some lovin', you can betcha' bottom dollar that I'll be back, Dealtificate or not.

When you consistently use the same stick to wax an area and then dip it back into the wax pot, you can transfer bacteria & disease into the wax that will continue to live as it is a warm environment. This it is possible to transfer herpes from someone getting a bikini wax onto someone's lip from using the same contaminated wax pot. The solution: use a new wax stick each time you dip into the wax pot! No cross contamination!! (And yes, I got off the table with only half a lip wax). #2: Cutting open skin while getting a pedicure. Ok, it can happen, but clean it & disinfect it when it does. Don't continue to pour chemicals (callous remover, exfoliating scrub, lotion) into the open wound! It burns & hurts & again, can lead to infection! All of this is assuming the instruments used during the pedicure were sanitary to begin with. In hindsight, I would have happily paid double the price, somewhere else (and I will next time), to avoid the discomfort, pain, and exposure to bacteria & infection due to sloppy practices. The thing that caught me the most off guard - they all seemed like it was no big deal or concern. Scary!! Someone could get very sick or worse because of their practices and conduct. If you don't know how to properly protect your clients from infection, bacteria, or unsanitary conditions, you need to further educate your team. Beware if you come here - keep your eyes open and stop services before you end up sick or hurt!
