My stylist dyed my roots too light then "fixed it", my appt was nearly three hours, and it suddenly became $90. She said because I asked her to dye all of my hair which I didn't, I just asked her to match the ends... and clearly she didn't, because my roots aren't fully covered and the color has already started fading in one week. She also got dye all over my face mask, inside my ears, and on my neck.

It was done by the dog Ivan lady (I forgot her name ) but she did exactly what I told her to do. Now I'm very picky with my hair , extremely actually so for her to get a review from me says a lot. I love my hair to feel big and volúmenes and she delivered just that ! When I'm having a good hair day , I'm having an even better day! So I will definitely be back to this place whenever I'm in Newark ! A blow is $30 but well worth it. The lack of reviews means nothing , she did an awesome job ! If you want a good blow out then the Dominican lady should be your go to girl when coming coming here. Overall I was satisfied with my experience here and absolutely adored my hair

My stylist was Tricia and her twin sister Lisa did my hair one time when Tricia got sick and they both are weave queens! They are among best and will have your weave looking like it's your own hair because they cut so low with the razor (which allows the weave to look as natural as possible). I would get so many compliments when I'd go here. I wouldn't suggest going here if your aren't trying to get a weave because it's pretty much just a weave bar. I was a customer there since 2006 and I never saw anyone getting anything other than a weave (and trust me the place is ALWAYS packed...especially on weekends). Their work is so amazing that I wanted to give 5 stars but I just couldn't because they need to do a little better with their customers/customer service. They need some type of sign in sheet or something because there were a couple times that I went there on a Saturday morning, arrived at around 6:30am (to guarantee I'd be first) and others would come soon after. By the time the female who braids your hair arrived people would try to act as if they don't know what place in line they are and lie that they were there before others. Then the stylist would come (finally) and would ask me who came after me! If I knew I'd tell her (and people would get mad) but if I didn't oh well. Also sometimes the female who does the braiding (Shelly) would have an attitude with me for no reason at all.

***Review from a lash extension First Timer!*** See Pictures ***…read more Wow! I absolutely LOVE the way I look with my new set of lashes. I've gotten so many compliments and I can leave my house with no makeup (maybe just a little under-eye concealer) and look put together. Definitely a confidence booster! I got mine done 4 days ago on a Wednesday and this is how it went: Thursday at work: Female co-worker #1: "wow, look at your eyes- did you do something different? Me: "mmm, no. I just used mascara. What? Does it not look natural? Is it too much?" (i normally don't wear a lot of makeup) Female co-worker #1: "no, no, no, It looks very nice, i love it -- it gives you a pop! You hardly ever wear makeup and i love this" Me: "Eye lash extensions ;)" Female co-worker #1: "Omg, i gotta try that, blah, blah, blah" Female co-worker #2: we are talking by the coffee machine for like 5 minutes and all of sudden: "OMG you got lash extensions didn't you!!" me: "huh?" Female co-worker #2: "Yeah I know because my sister gets them done and she's been trying to get me to do them. I love them! you look awesome - maybe i'll try it one of these days" Male co-worker: comes over to chat and all of sudden "What did you do different? Did you do your hair? it looks nice" Me: "LOL" Friday: I asked my boyfriend, do you notice anything different? and he says no. Saturday: I was wearing no makeup and cuddling with my boyfriend and he was like "you are so pretty" --- I batted my lashes at him but he still didn't notice lol. The funny thing is that we were watching Coco and Ice and then the Khloe and Lamar - and for the first time I noticed that all these females on tv, the kardashians and all of them wear lash extensions. there's no way they are natural. Today - Sunday: mom looks at me and says wow you lashes are nice and long. Me: "Yeah mom, I've been using these oils and they grew lol" Mom: looks at me stunned like she wants the secret Me: lol "ok mom lash extensions, you want to try them?" lol o that reminds me, let me write a review. Tanya was my tech and she was very communicative, walking me through the entire process. She told me it can take up to an hour or sometimes longer and that i can take a little nap or ask any questions to help time pass by quickly. The procedure is not painful at all and although it took about an hour, time pass by very quickly as we were chatting most of the time - I had a lot of questions. She told me how to take care of my lashes and gave me a tips sheet to take home. In our chat learned that she started her business on Facebook as a home business and it was so successful that she opened up this lovely lash studio in Union Square. That to me is always a good sign. I highly recommend this business whether this is your first time and you haven't quite dared to let a chinese or Korean salon do it or whether you've done them before and are looking to try a different place.

She's incredibly compassionate and professional, which was a great combination to get from someone after only having talked to them for a few minutes. What impressed me the most with Joanne is that she REALLY listens. I'm really lazy and indecisive about changing up and refreshing my look, and I really appreciated that she took my apprehensions about maintenance into account when she made her coloring recommendations, and even offered low-key maintenance suggestions that I could implement even after my appointment. Unfortunately, I waited 4 months before making my follow-up appointment, but again she did an amazing job and really listened to "my wants." I will definitely be back; hopefully this time, in a much more concise timeframe!
