This was my 2nd place I have tried on wedding dresses and since it was only a few blocks from my new job, I figured lets give it a try. I made an appt to meet with someone there, since when you call they say you should..... I came in with my best friend who was also my MOH and the dresses came flying on me. lol... After choosing and agreeing and sweating and not being able to breathe cause some dresses were too small or too big I left there with nothing. I did try on several dresses that were amazing but I told the lady there that I was having a destination wedding and a dress that is so elaborate wasnt necessary. I purchased my gown and all the bridesmaids gowns here in 2009 for my own wedding. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. When it was my sister's turn to get married (wedding was set for June 2011) She purchased her gown here as well. Unfortunately (but really Fortunately!) the wedding was cancelled and she forfeited her deposit and the dress. So here we are in 2013. My sister in engaged to someone else (thank God) but was hesitant on returning to the store fearing the uncomfortable encounter. However, we did go in and the owner and saleswoman actually remembered us and were extremely gracious and helpful. They also remembered our previous dealings and were nothing but sweet and understanding about the entire ordeal. They are true professionals here and will never hesitate in recommending them in the future. read more

I let my sister-in-law and her two daughters (my twin flower girls) as well as my mother-in-law get their dresses for my wedding here because my sis-in-law & nieces live in Long Island. BIG MISTAKE. We left more than ample time to order their dresses for them to come in and be altered in time for the wedding. About 8 weeks before the wedding "I," not the dress buyers got the call that they were in. When we all went there to see them., The flower girls dresses came in the wrong colors. (They were supposed to be inverses and they were the same.) My sister-in-law's dress was supposed to be full length and it was tea-length. The owner did not even apologize for the mistake. She put it all on the designer when her staff should have made sure everything was ordered correctly when it arrived. So they reordered the dresses which arrived 2 weeks before the wedding. (Can you say panicking bride here??) Good news is they did alterations for free on the dresses that came in wrong. F.Y.I. Just as the owner was going to put clamps on the dress for my niece she stopped herself and I QUOTE ,"Wait, I cant touch her, I have the flu." First when I arrived they were the most nicest people and they were very helpful even though I thought the saleslady didn't have any idea what she was talking about. But whatever, I didn't care, they were still nice. I had 7 bridesmaids and they all purchased dresses from them totaling almost $300 each. After my girls were measured, we all knew what sizes needed to be ordered. But the owner Nancy insisted we order a size bigger because she said the girls need to be comfortable. So being that you go to these places and expect them to know what they're talking about and take their advice because they are "supposedly professional", we listened to them except for 2 girls. So 5 ordered a size bigger. Now when the dresses came in, they were huge!!! You could literally lift them off with out unzipping them!!! Now this is where they get you! Each girl that ordered the bigger size had to pay for major alterations!! They are SLICK!! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! The 2 girls who didn't listen to them and orderd the right size only had to fix the hem which was only $40. Everyone else got screwed! Me as the bride, I felt sooooo bad for my girls and kind of guilty because each had already spent a lot of money on the dress, shoes and new undergarments. Don't trust this place at all!!! I purchased a Victor Harper dress from a shop in Virginia and brought the dress to NY (where my wedding was held) for alterations. After leaving my dress with another tailor, I was horrified when I picked my dress up and it had stains, the front hem was uneven, and the bustle left a lot to be desired. Having nothing to lose, I called this shop about 2 weeks before my wedding (september 2014) mostly because it was just a few minutes drive from my mother's house. I was told over the phone that I could bring the dress in the following saturday to be steamed. I brought the dress in as planned and waited for at least 30 minutes to talk to someone (which is why I am giving 4 stars...but they were busy with other customers). However, the woman (Patty?) took one look at my dress and offered to fix the hem and bustle and to clean and steam the dress and she also offered to steam my veil. We agreed on an extremely reasonable price and the dress was ready in time for my wedding and looked great! (Note that this is a mom and pop type of shop and although they did not appear to carry dresses in the price range as the dress that I bought, they clearly have the experience and resources to handle gowns of all qualities) read more

I decided to try this store because it was not too far for my brides maids. When I went in, to try on the dresses, the customer service was great. My bridesmaid seemed okay with the knowledge they had. Everything was fine. We put in an order for the dresses. The lady helpijgn with trying on the dress said to get one size bigger than what we had tried on. She told us that alterations was goign to be up to $75 dollars. Whcih was resonable, I thought. WE went back when the actual dresses came in and they we all too big. I explained to the lady that she ordered the wrong dresses. But she kept saying that is the size you said to order. It was a nignrmare so now all the dress had to get major alterations. There was only was one dress that didnt need major alterations. All it needed was to be taking in 1/2in on each side so ti could fit snug. They charged me $75 flat. I expalined to the lady that when I first came in she sai minor alterations were up to $75 not a flat rate. They are very deceiving. Yopu take the advise of these people bwecaue you are under the impression that they know what they are talking about. Meanwhile they were scamming so you could spend more money. When looking for a gown for my son's wedding, and after shopping at six other bridal shops, I decided to stop in to Beautiful Bride. When I entered the store, I was welcomed by friendly courteous staff. They helped me find a gown that I loved and I ordered it in early December. A few weeks later, I received a call from the owner, Patty, saying the manufacturer of my gown had gone out of business. I was shocked and upset, as the wedding was in March and I wouldn't have much time to find and order another dress. She suggested I come into the store to discuss my options. She offered me a refund of my deposit or she said she could call the manufacturer to see if they had extra material so that her dressmaker could make the gown from scratch. The very next day, as promised, Patty called me to tell me she was able to order the material andcould make the gown! I was so relieved that I would still have the gown I loved for this very special occasion. Six weeks before the wedding, I went for weekly fittings to make sure that every detail of the gown was perfect. The service was incredible. It was personal and genuine. When I brought in my earrings to see how they looked with the dress, the dressmaker actually put the earrings on and off for me! I couldn't imagine any better service....But once the gown was complete, I made an appointment to pick it up. When I got to the store, there was a sign on the door "Closed early due an emergency. Sorry for the inconvenience". Naturally, I was disappointed, but I knew I still had time, so I left a message on the store's voicemail. That evening, I received a call from Patty, apologizing. She said that a bride was getting dressed for her wedding and had ripped her gown, so they ran to her aide to repair the dress, and therefore had to leave the store immediately. I couldn't believe that the owner and dressmaker actually made house calls!! Patty felt so bad that they weren't there for me, she offered to bring my gown to my house that night. It was a rainy Saturday night and I couldn't believe she wanted to travel 30 miles to bring me my gown! I didn't want her to travel in such bad weather, so we agreed on the next morning. Sure enough, at 10 a.m. she was at my door with my gown in hand. I thought to myself, "Now that's service"!! I have never before experienced such outstanding personal service from a retail store. I found my wedding gown here. It was one of the first one's I tried on. My affair was outside and because of the outer layer of toulle on the dress, bugs were sneaking their way in! It wasn't that big of a deal to me, but I can see other women being quite frustrated. My mother went back to explain to them the situation after the wedding, just so they knew, and it ended up they knew that bugs would get in and didn't say a word. They responded by saying "we just sell dresses" although I had a decent experience there, I was turned off by their attitude. read more

This place is so rediculous. I ordered my wedding dress, my flower girl dress and all my bridesmaids and my maid of honor ordered their dresses from here. My dress I got all alterations done here, the alterations weren't done correctly. My breasts were popping out of my dress. My bushel that I spent $250 for wasn't there. The loops for my dress broke when they put the buttons to it. My matre d had to sew the loop back the day of my wedding. She had to then safety pin my train to my dress. My flower girl her dress was a mess. It sewed on the sides of the dress lopsided. And when I went to pick it up it wasn't pressed. My brides maids dresses had problems with alterations and they never pressed their dresses I had to take them to the cleaners to get pressed the day before the wedding. I will never buy from this place ever! I do not recommend this place to anyone. I tell all my friends to stay far away from here. read more

I cannot thank Patty and the women of Beautiful Brides enough for their great service. I ordered 10 dresses from them. All 9 of my bridesmaids dresses were perfect. Unfortunately, the Jr. Bridesmaid's (my cousin) dress was not, but they took care of it right away and with the best service they could! My Jr. Bridesmaid lives out of state so did not have a chance to try on the dress until a few weeks after it had come in. When she tried it on, it did not zip and the dress was tea-length instead of full length as we had ordered. The mother of my Jr. & my maid of honor went down to the store immediately to see what could be done. Patty assured them that she would do her best to get the situation fixed ASAP. She also knew that my cousin was only going to be in town for 1 week. With in 5 days she called us back to tell us the correct dress had come in. We went and right there on the spot they took care of the alterations for us. The services was wonderful. I have to say I panicked when I saw that the dress didn't fit, but they were so good about everything, I knew it was going to be fine. Other than that, Patty's service had been wonderful the entire time I had worked with her. The dress we ordered was not available to try on when we first went shopping for it, but Patty called the manufacturer to get a sample so my bridesmaids could try it on. She get the dress twice, since not all my girls were in town at the same time. Also, when we went to pick up the dresses, she took the time to help my sister try on the dress - its a corset dress and takes about 15 minutes to lace up. Any time I called with a question or anything, the staff was friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend working with them! read more

HORRIBLE! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS STORE!! I told my sister-in-law to find dresses someplace else when I read the reviews about this place online, but she insisted... So, she ordered her bridesmaid dresses here and told them the wedding was a month earlier than it actually was. EVEN THAT DID NOT WORK. She was told it will take them 4 months to get the dresses in to the store- The dresses arrived AFTER the wedding date that was given. Also, they totally scam you, saying they have to order the dress a full size larger and tell you alterations will cost no more than $85. They make you pay for the dress in full when you order it and the alterations (even though you may not need alterations) and they offer no refunds or returns. I tried to order the dress over the phone and they would not permit it. I told them I am a size 2 and would pay for everything over the phone and not hold them accountable, but they MADE me travel all the way to their store to make sure I was ordering the right size. I used to run a custom wedding dress store for 2 years and went to fashion school for 4 years- I think I am capable of measuring myself and ordering my correct size. But, noooooo... I had to come in. So, I did. I am a 34/26/35 FIT model that works in showrooms modeling formal dresses in size 2. The "seamstress" wrote down 38 Hip (Size 10 in the order book!). I pointed out this was totally wrong and showed her the right measurement on the tape when I measured myself correctly in front of her. She still wrote down her own measurements. Then, I had a full argument with the owner in the shop, explaining that I want to order my dress in a size 2 and again told her I would take full responsibility if the dress was too small. Afterall, I traveled all the way there (3+ hours) in a blizzard to be measured to prove to her that I know my size. The owner refused to order a size 2 and said she would order a size 4 and alter it for me. The bride was basically vomitting from the stress of the dresses when the dresses finally arrived a week AFTER the "Fake" wedding date they gave. I had to rush all the way back there to do the fitting. I made an appointment for a fitting. When I arrived, the owner handed me the dress in a wrapper. I told her I had a fitting appointment and she was not pleased. She told me the seamstress doesn't work on the weekends and that I should get the dress altered someplace closer to my house. Why the F did I make an appointment to come all the way here then?!? She said. "Well, I could have shipped it to you if you asked." Adding insult to injury! And after all that arguing that B WORD ordered a SIZE 6 (not size 4 as she insisted and NOT Size 2 as I requested)!! She said she should have ordered a size 10 and that she took a big risk, ordering such a small size because you can always make it smaller, but you can't make it bigger. After all the stress she put the bride through and all the bridesmaids (every one of them had problems too!), I was ALREADY ready to punch her when I walked in the door- Now, with a SIZE 6 and a trip to see a seamstress that didn't work on the day I booked, I was ready to kill her! My boyfriend asked me politely to just walk away. She then refused to iron the wrinkled dress. "Why should I press it? It's a waste of time since you are going to have to have it altered anyway and they will press it for you." I insisted that it was unacceptable after spending hundreds of dollars for a dress in a size that I did not order that arrived AFTER the wedding date- that she didn't even press the dress. She said, "I guess I could press it for you, but you'll have to come back to pick it up tomorrow." Is she nuts?!? Tomorrow! OK, sure... I'll take another 3 hour trip to pick up the dress after she has time to iron it. With my boyfriend's urging, I grabbed the dress and left the store without saying another word. Also, they will not be refunding the $85 alteration fee I paid and I can't dispute it on my credit card, since they only go back 3 months for credit card disputes. Do yourself a favor (and your bridesmaids too!) stay away from this nightmare at all costs!! read more

They ordered the flower girls dress In the wrong color, they were suppose to cut my dress for my 3 inch heel but now I need to wear 7 inch stripper heels in order to not step on my dress and the owner is rude. Wouldn't even considered helping with the cost to get the dress to a new tailor since they are incapable of doing anything right. It's one thing to make a mistake but it's another thing when the owner blames you! I'm sorry, I don't know anyone who will wear 7 inch stripper heels to their best friends wedding under their bridesmaid dress. Maybe they should use some sense instead of cutting a dress for a 5'5 girl like she is 6' tall. And when she asked why I didn't do my try on and I told her I did, she accused me of being liar. DON'T GO, DON'T BOTHER. They are useless!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I used this vendor for my bridesmaids and maid of honors dresses becuase it was about $40 cheaper and this store was recommended to me. Everything was OK until the dresses came in. One of my maid of honors is tall and she paid for extra length. When her dress came in it was not extra length at all. I had to go put on the sample dress in the store to prove to the store workers that my friends dress was a regular length dress. Then the owner proceeds to tell me that there is no way of knowing if a dress is extra length when its on a hanger. For real!!!! Extra length is a special order so I would assume that the tag would be marked as so. Also as a business owner it is her responsibility to make sure that dresses that come in exactly match what was ordered. She then nonchalantly says dont worry we can fix it. Well they didnt!! By trying to lengthen the dress they ended changing the style of the dress. The dress had ruching all over and even though Patty swore up and down that they would not be altered. In the end the dress had very little ruching. The dress was supposed to have a minitrain that dragged on the floor in the back and on my friend the dress barely touched the ground. The seamstress is horrible because it took us almost an hour to convinvce her that she did shotty work. Patty the owner ended up taking over with the alterations but she was only a slight improvement over the seamstress. I had two maid of honors that were supposed to be in the same mermaid ruched dress with a train. And unfortunately their dresses ended looking different. Only two girls did alterations with them out of 6 because they were all nervous about how she botched my maid of honors dress. Do not use her!!!!
