The reason I…read moredecided to spend money by going here was I had gone elsewhere for a light chestnut brown balayage and it ended up being botched. My hair was left with streaky highlights for a $150 job. After crying for a few days and researching the next move, I found Mystique and decided that healthy hair is an investment. I go 1-2 times a year and don't even tell her what I want anymore. They're all so knowledgable and take into account what looks best for you while also hearing what you want. I've never seen anyone walk out disappointed. I've had 3 other friends go there for haircuts and would recommend anyone who's able to afford it. I'm a student and budget my trips to here and never feel like I'm pressured into buying other services. Riva has been so kind, gentle, and supportive. The location: It's so beautifully decorated. The girls always offer coffee, tea, water. There's chocolates everywhere for you to snack on. It's such a "girlfriend hangout" vibe Service: 10/10, truly worth the money. Budget for it and you won't need to return for another year. I ask to stay "natural looking" and Riva ALWAYS delivers. Best place to see their results are checking out their instagram page!

Might be the most unprofessional establishment there is. No respect for the customers' time. Kept…read moremy girlfriend waiting for an appointment not once but twice. Did not say anything like "hey be right back" or "thanks for being so patient, be with you soon". Nothing. Setting appointments is fruitless if you are kept waiting four hours past the appointment. Gone are the days when customers were treated like guests, with respect, with appreciation that you were spending a hard earned dollar in their establishment. That's not how you treat people. Don't take the customer for granted if you want to stay in business. Nothing big, just the little things. Like saying thank you, and if you are going to be late for an appointment apologizing and reassuring the guest that they are important and will be attended too shortly. Not sure if all who work their carry this type of attitude, I hope not. But a business goes a lot farther if you simply show appreciation for those keeping you in business.

Amazing -- she has made me love my hair again…read more I've honestly been in box braids almost nonstop because I was just over my hair. It had no shape. Just long and overpowering. I would do my wash and go's and just feel like a wet mop. I came in and asked for shape and a short bang. The bang was really the only direction I gave her since I knew I wanted some better framing around my face and to change up my look within my comfort zone. Honestly, I would have been really annoyed if I were her about how vague my instructions were (lol). However, Joy wasn't annoyed all. She gave me suggestions and Ideas of how it could look and then went to work. The end result has made me so happy. This is the happiest I've been about my hair in a while. And I've been able to keep up the style for ~week without a wash/completely wetting my hair -- even doing hot Pilates and sweating every day. I think the haircut has a lot to do with that. She was really professional, pleasant and helpful. Her whole team had a great vibe and, of course I love the look of the shop. It was great experience all around.

If I could give 10 stars I would. This place is amazing! I have donated my hair, and my 8 year old…read moredaughter has donated her hair twice to this place. The salon really takes their time when cutting our hair. They made my daughter feel so special, her cut was cute and accurate, everyone compliment her. The stylists was so nice she even put alittle glitter on her hair. We have had many different stylists cut our hair and they were all great! Mine cost $40, $20 goes to the stylists and &20 goes to set the off cost of making the wig, if you ask me that's a fraction of the cost a different place would charge you. I still come here even when I don't donate my hair. And the money is going to a good cause, I'd much rather spend my money on know this than some snoody girl who spends 15 mins on my hair and charges me $100 bucks. I got a shampoo, cut , and style for that. She spent an hour and a half on my hair, well worth the price. My daughter cut was only $20 and she got the same treatment. This place is non profit and all money's goes into making the wigs. The owners husband even went as far as buying my daughter a book while we waiting for our cuts! We will always come bAck to this place just as long as their open! Hope that this review will someone to decide to come here regardless of the price. While again is not bad at all. Thankyou!

This review is for the salon not the Wig4Kids program…read more Take your children to a KID FRIENDLY SALON and send their hair to Wigs4Kids or another place like Locks of Love. We had a terrible experience at the salon with my 3 year old. My three year old ended up donating over 11 inches. We were told she could donated 7-8 inches if she didn't want to have her hair cut super short, but 10 is ideal. The stylist said 10 inches would bring it 1/2 inch above her shoulders. I said that is fine, but no shorter that's the shortest I want to go. She literally HACKED her hair off. It is now to her chin, completely uneven and it looks like my 5 year old cut it! I am heartbroken that this exciting experience turned out so sad. We drove from Plymouth to donate. I would NEVER recommend this salon! Pictures don't lie. I wish I could upload a photo you would be horrified. My friend who is a stylist said "this is a job of a lazy stylist!" and "if she can't work with kids she shouldn't have taken on a 3 year old!"

Not only that, but she was so thorough with explaining everything she did and why, right down to the shape of the cut she gave me. She gave me advice on how best to blow out my hair, and she recommended what kind of products I needed for my particular hair texture. It was clear to me that she is really knowledgeable about her craft, and that she wants her clients to walk out with an amazing head of hair. I am so happy I found this place, and I can't wait to go back. I've already made my next appointment!

I've been here 3 times, and have gotten highlights and a cut all 3 times. The first 2 experiences…read morewere great - I had the same stylist and was charged $250 both times. However, the 3rd time I came in, I had a different stylist because my original stylist was unavailable. I was charged $378 for the same services, and when I questioned their charges, I was told prices had increased since the last time I came in, and all stylists charge separately. Manager also noted the stylist spent 4 hours on my hair, but the past 2 appointments the stylist also spent 4 hours on my hair so this doesn't justify anything for me. I should have been notified before my appointment about a $128 increase in services. I had no idea I needed to ask beforehand, since I was charged the same price the previous 2 times. I also didn't receive any consultation with new stylist which would've solved many issues. I came here 3.5 months after my prev appt, but was charged significantly more than coming in after 5 months? I was even more upset after I was charged $68 for a "dusting" (cutting split ends) which was then reduced to $48, because I had come in not wanting a haircut but was pressured to by the stylist. The salon did nothing to rectify the issue - which was not notifying me of a $128 increase in prices - and instead threw me a $50 bonus to use for the NEXT time I come in. Why would I come in again, when prices might be even higher and the $50 wouldn't do anything. Nothing was done for this current appointment. Don't expect much to be done if you have complaints, and be aware of the pricing BEFORE your appointment begins, so they can't charge you extra/more after it's all done. The stylists are extremely talented, but the way the salon handled my complaints was disappointing.
