My husband ended up fixing it himself because no one followed up. Then I received a completely false message from management saying the police had been to my apartment -- something that never happened -- and they threatened eviction based on that. I asked for proof, and of course, none was provided. Add to that ongoing overcharges with no explanation, and it's been a stressful experience overall. I just want safe, respectful, and fair treatment -- but I haven't gotten that here

While many like to live a bare bones lifestyle, I don't and that is why I chose Willow Lakes. My top two candidates were The Avenue and Willow Lakes. What set Willow Lakes apart from the rest was is its reasonable prices, big rooms and great community. Located right off of Highway 69, south of Nederland Ave, it is very close to everything. While Willow Lakes does have a gym, I am glad I'm close to an Exygon. Another nice amenity Willow Lakes has is a great big pool. Although, Port Arthur is no Houston, Willow Lakes will make it a very comfortable stay.

The grounds are always filled with trash, landscaping is horrible as half of it is died. Gates community in which the gates seem to always be broken and not a single person gate is ever locked. Some don't even have handles. They add fees that are not disclosed or not normal for apartments to charge . Such as cleaning after moved out ( it was cleaned and moped ). There is to many brand new apts with same lease prices.

Friendship Baptist church (down the street from the apartment) hosts a bible study that meets every Tuesday in the main lobby. The Pastor delivers the word with empathy, understanding, and wisdom. Everyone is welcoming. They bring snacks and Legos for children to play with and teach them lessons with fun activities while parents are being encouraged with the word of the Most High Elohim, The Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob HalleluYah! Our Creator delivered our household from our enemy and placed us here. Having community and a safe place to heal was the blessing our family needed for a very long time. We have that here. When I first came to this are for a local refinery project we stayed at a couple different hotels…read more then when the project got extended we moved to these fairly new apartments. We all have the 1 bedroom apartments and everyone that's on our crew enjoys them. They have newer washer and dryers in each apartment (saves lots of $$ on washeteria's and time). Ours came fully furnished, which was nice, but you need to go to wallymart, etc to upgrade the bedding. The airconditioning worked well, even in the 100+deg days this past summer. Havent tried out the heater yet, but assume it'll work just as well. The pool and rec areas seem to be maintained very well also. The outside gazebo and 3 pit bbque area is also nice, but can get a little crowed on holiday weekends. If and when I ever return to this area for more then a couple weeks I will stay here again.
