The Beaumont Botanical Gardens is located inside the Tyrrell Park. The gardens offers a Horticulture Center, Native Plant Center, Japanese garden, modern rose garden and 9/11 Memorial Garden. Even though the flowers are not blooming right now, it's still a very nice pretty place to walk around. You will see and smell bunch of different herbs plants at the garden. The Conservatory was closed so I didn't get to go inside the greenhouse. Hope I get to come back when the flowers and tree are green and blooming. It's a great place to get your picture taken.

We just left Tyrell Parks Botanical Gardens and it was Beautiful. We got to go inside the Conservatory which is a huge Greenhouse. The staff was very friendly and informative. There were so many beautiful plants and flowers to see. Huge varieties of Ivories, Orchids and lots of other beautiful plants. Then we walked in the gardens. Roses are budding beautifully. There's a Huge pond full of fish and turtles you can feed. This is the perfect place for fall or summer wedding. There's also a building you can reserve for parties or receptions. Ususlly this time year there are lots ofvgraduation and prom pictures being taken here because it is so beautiful. We also got to see the world Trade Center Memorial. They did a great job on it and it is absolutely amazing. This is definitely a place to visit if you're in the Beaumont Texas area.

My client chose this location for her bridal photos. There are many beautiful backdrops and a small fee for photos inside the atrium of $25. The atrium has a beautiful waterfall and number of photo ops so it's well worth the price of $25.

Park anywhere in the half moon parking lot and wander behind the building marked Beaumont Botanical Gardens. There are restrooms, a public changing area (many photography sessions take place in this park) and a water fountain at the main building. Lots of shaded, quiet areas to sit and relax and just contemplate being surrounded by flowers and bushes. Many of the plants are marked so you can learn more about their species. There are a few statues to examine and birdhouses to find - some hidden and some not so hidden. The paths are mostly flat and paved. There is a pond at the back with a waterfall - the pond could use a cleaning but the waterfall feature is impressive. I also noticed what appeared to be man made stream beds, complete with drains, but they were empty. I think the main reason for these issues is a lot of people don't know the gardens are here, and it's probably a cost saving thing. With that being said, you should absolutely check out the gardens if you are into nature or just need bird song to drown out your worries. Bring a camera, take a sketchbook. Also be sure to check out the September 11th memorial, set up complete with red, white and blue flowers. The gardens are open to the public during Tyrrell park hours, year round. There is no cost for admittance or parking.

I love this place! The gardens were very well maintained, and there are a lot of little side nooks to sit down and enjoy nature. A big plus to this garden is that it is free, open late, and very accessible. The only thing changes that I would make is increasing the size of the garden, and adding some kid friendly items (sandbox, swing set).

Yes it's so pretty, and there's wild grapes!

Upon walking into the garden, my friend and I were immediately greeted by one of the volunteers. She gladly gave us a map of the garden and asked if were interested in seeing a free movie to learn about the history of the garden and asked if we were wanting to go on the free boat tour as well. We gladly said, yes and was shocked that they so many payless amenities. I thought to myself out of all the botanical gardens I've visited over the years, this was by far the less expensive. The movie was fascinating. It was held in this big modernized auditorium. We were the only ones in there. Once the movie started, the room got really dark. Mr. Stark, a native and local of Orange, TX was inspired by the 1933 movie, The Lost Horizon (which can be found on Tubi), but Shangri La translates into utopia and paradise, so he sought out to make an impression in the small city by creating a place people can enjoy nature on 252 acres. The selection of plants are natives, annuals, perennials, some tropical plants (located in the greenhouses). The boat tour was a real treat! We were given instructions to remain safe on the water vehicle and put on life jackets. The tour was held on Adams Bayou where we saw ospreys, Christmas lichen on the trees, houses off the bayou, cypress trees with their huge roots, moss hanging from the branches, and even the bayou was filled with debris and trash. It definitely felt like we in a swamp. The boat ride was peaceful as the tour guides gave explanation of what we viewed. After the tour, my friend and I walked around the park observing all the beauties around. There wasn't a lot of plants in bloom yet, but nevertheless, the air was crisp and fresh. Great outing. They even have a restaurant/cafe on site. Shangri La exceeded my expectations!

April 18, 2024 [I forgot to check in]…read more But, we went to the sip & stroll tonight after the garden closed to release butterflies! Isn't that cool?! We paid $10 for a butterfly, fed it some oranges, and then released it. Wine from Free State Cellars was there, sandwichs and macarons were made by them, too. Fantastic! Now about this garden, it's beautiful. They have put a lot of work into it since Hurricane harvey... and are doing a great job in making it more lucious each year. LOVE this place
