If you're visiting Beaufort or Atlantic Beach area, do yourself a favor and rent from Beaufort Paddle. I guarantee you'll have a 10/10 day. We had the opportunity to take a couple of Debbie's single kayaks out to the Carrot Island area and had a fantastic experience. Her service is unmatched and the value is incredible. We were out exploring for about 5 hours and towards the end of the day, Debbie called to check in (and make sure we were ok) which shows just how much she goes above and beyond for her customers. If youve wondered about paddle boards: go, now. We got some extra guidance when a member of our party was shaky getting started. They were the most sure footed by the end. If the two with the least skill in the group could get it (and gush about it) you can too. Previous experience helped who had it and the rest caught up. Safety is #1, you're going to feel safe before you go. They'll make sure of it. Great staff, easy booking - logistics (blah blah). Do recommend getting the el cheapo water shoes at Wings or Eagles or Styx or (insert band name pun here). Picked this one bc of the location and options available scenic and water traffic wise: wanted to see boats and such. It's a win and it's priced right. Buy some it's okay if you lose them sunglasses when at the cheapo store and take sunscreen! (They hook you up with some water in a cooler to take along ). It's a winner - you're still reading. Beaufort Paddle was professional, taking the proper COVID-19 precautions and then the kayaking... it was beautiful, got us away from crowds and was simply wonderful. Had a great time. If you are looking for a place to rent paddleboards or kayaks this is the place to go. They are really knowledgeable about the area and provide great info on where to go. They gave us a cooler with ice to put our lunch in. They also have a safety boat to check on their clients to make sure there are no problems. We tried other rentals in the area, but this is the one we will come back to. read more

My teenaged daughter and I had a stand up paddle board lesson and tour. We were complete novices to paddle boarding and had never kayaked at the coast before, so exploring the open water felt a little daunting. Karen, our tour guide, was fantastic! She provided water, water shoes, a map and life jackets, and required a lesson (which we wanted!) before we went exploring. She made sure we were comfortable and took us on a guide to a beautiful nearby island, and ensured we stayed safe but also offered us some challenges that suited our comfort levels. We could have stayed out longer and done some additional exploring on our own but since we don't really know much about tides and currents we stayed with Karen. We had a blast on our 2-hour trip (which was topped off with an ice pop!) and the price was incredibly reasonable. It was a perfect experience for our first time and when we are in the area again we will definitely come back. read more

We had a great time kayaking with Charlie out to Rachel Carson reserve. The paddle was fairly easy and the tour talk was full of fun facts and interesting. After doing this with a tour guide we see how easy it is to paddle over to the islands so we may just go on our own next time. read more

We braved paddling with 5 kids and a good deal of trepidation. Beaufort Paddle was absolutely lovely. They had dry bags for us to borrow and loaned the kids appropriate water shoes. Our guide tailored the trip for a large group of children . When we had to come back early because of a storm, the staff gave the kids popsicles while they waited for the storm to pass. The owners, Rod & Debbie, greeted us immediately. Even though the place was very busy, they made us feel like we were the only people standing in their shop. We rented 2 kayaks for two days to paddle/explore Long Creek by our campsite (Long Creek Family Campground). Ed, the young gentleman that helped load up our kayaks was more than helpful. Since he had LOTS of experience loading kayaks into all types of vehicles, he showed us the best way to tie them in. Then he borrowed us the straps so we did not have to worry about straps! When we returned the kayaks, Aimee (the beautiful lady that does Kayak Tours) greeted us and helped us get unloaded. She was genuinely interested in how our exploration of the Long Creek went. After several minutes of stories, we were off. I just cannot say enough kind words about our experience with all the people at Beaufort Paddle! We had such a great time on our guided kayak tour! Tessa was friendly and knowledgeable and took us to some really cool spots in the area. She tailored the tour to what we were looking for and we had the best time exploring the different islands. I'm sure all the tour guides are great but I can definitely vouch that Tessa is awesome! The company itself has clearly thought about how to make their customers have a great experience from start to finish. They provided all the equipment, had a super easy check-in process, and brought water bottles for us during our tour. On the safety side, they wore face masks when we we're getting ready to leave and sanitized equipment between tours which made us feel comfortable given all the COVID-19 craziness. This was the perfect Sunday morning activity for us beginner kayakers and I'd highly recommend them!! read more

I had an absolutely great time paddling around Beaufort. I showed up and Rod went above and beyond to make sure I had a good time. He let me borrow water shoes, a dry bag for my phone and even offered a cooler of water. After getting everything organized I realized that I left my shorts back at Camp Lejeune. I told Rod and asked him where I could go buy some cheap shorts. Rod told me not to waste my money and let me borrow shorts. I couldn't believe it. I got some great paddling in, saw some beautiful areas, and experienced incredible customer service. Rod also offers a military discount to boot. This place is amazing! They give you a map of the area and really watch out for you. The owner looks out for his paddlers and he checked on us throughout our mini adventure. If you need anything, just ask! The day my husband and I went kayaking we saw a bottlenose dolphin maybe 20 yards from us. We paddled to the Rachel reserve area and walked the trail. We were able to see a beautiful wild mare grazing on tree leaves! I highly recommend this business and we will be back! read more
