Went for the jet ski "Lighthouse Tour" with my girlfriend and her 14 yr old son. Safety and operating instructions were ok, and I remember hearing about going single-file through the marshes, but then I don't recall being told that it was an all-out, balls-to-the-wall race to get out to the lighthouse! But before we reached full speed the girlfriend's jet ski got stuck on a sand bar. I looked back to notice that she wasn't moving, so I turned around to help her. Our guide? It took him 5 minutes before he came back to help! At the lighthouse, it was, "You have 30/40 minutes here, then we head back." Not any mention of the nice lady at the property who can give you a little history of the place, or other cool things you can do on the island. We did stop briefly to see a few dolphins frolicking about, but then it was back to full speed ahead. This time I was getting the hang of it, but now there was more boat activity on the water and the girlfriend was unsure how to navigate the boats and buoys to not get run over. Guide? Yep, 300 yards ahead(just about out of sight). He finally did loop back and guide us back to the dock. We were both a bit in shock as we scurried away from the place. read more

We did the 2.5 hour jet ski tour out to the Cape Lookout lighthouse. We saw wild horses, lots of sea and marsh birds, and had a chance to visit the lighthouse museum. Jackson, our tour guide, was great at leading our group of 4 skis and happily accommodated the novice riders (us). I highly recommend them if you want see the sights from the water. read more

Our family had a wonderful time on our full-day pontoon boat excursion. We took our time and traveled through many points along the Sound, stopping in Beaufort for ice cream and going to Shackleford Banks to swim where we spotted horses and dolphin. Kids of all ages (1 to 70) had a fantastic day! The AB Watersport staff was so helpful and the boat was clean and comfortable. Me and my family had the most unacceptable experience ever. We went in with full intention of renting a Jet Ski, and as it was our first time, we obviously had questions. The questions we asked were whether or not we could switch out the passengers on the Jet Ski during our rental period, which by the way is a completely acceptable question considering a customer pays 135 dollars for the hour. Then, since our close friends owned Jet Skis and had been operating them since they were 15-16, and many of my friends have operated them since they were young, I asked why their policy was eighteen year olds were allowed to operate. (NC law allows fourteen year old to operate). I was so ply wondering the reason behind this, I am sure there must have been a good one. Keep in mind we had full intention of following their rules, and we assured them of that MULTIPLE times, however they would not allow us to rent since we were "questioning their policy". What is the point of a person being there if not to answer questions? We again, assured them multiple times we were going to follow policy, yet the owner was rude, hostile, i considerate, unaccepting, and belittling. Not only did he look down upon us as if we were uneducated, he was rude. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone, and I am part of the Cary council, and I will let everyone know of this horrible place and their horrible ownership. I doubt you will have much business coming from the Cary area now. Do not rent from here, there are other places with the same exact prices and better policies. I repeat, do not give this place your business. read more

Went jet skiing for the first time ever & I'm mad at myself for not doing this sooner!!! Simply put, it was amazing! The employees answer any questions you may have but overall operating a jet ski is pretty simple. Mike the man in charge greeted us with a huge smile & joked around with myself & the family. We didn't know we had to make reservations (which I highly suggest you do and call as soon as you know what time/day you wanna jet ski because time slots fill up fast!!) with that, Mike was able to squeeze us into a time slot that day which worked out perfectly because the following two days wouldn't have worked for my group of 4. Cost to rent a jet ski is pretty typical for the area, $65 for 1/2 hour or $100 for a full hour (would recommend the hour). Had a blast & 10/10 would definitely recommend this to anyone and when I visit NC again I will definitely be coming back to jet ski! read more

Found this place via Yelp. We came on a slow Friday after a rain. It was perfect! The folks running it were extremely nice and hospitable, and also had an adorable young dog they had rescued. My daughter and I shared a jetski for an hour. We had such a good time and cruises through the area where all the restaurants are. We jumped the wakes from passing boats. There was a lot of boat traffic, so I felt the need to be very cautious of crazy drivers. It was a great experience and I hope to make it an annual thing. read more

Our family was excited to get to ride jet skis on our family trip but when we got there we were met with rushed and hostile service. We made reservations online, where it stated that 3 people could ride as long as it was under 375lbs, which we had because we had children waiting to ride. Either way, we decided to compromise and figure out who will be riding, since he wasn't allowing us to rent another jet ski. The owner, Mike G, kept rushing and yelling for us to hurry, mind you we got there before our reserved time. It's a joke. They charge $500 to rent a boat that is missing lights and has loose paneling (very sharp and rusty, perfect time for a tetanus booster shot) and has issues with the motor raising and lowering (good luck navigating in shallow water). When you become inevitably stuck you and your elderly in-laws will have to push the boat out to deeper water. Once out there you will realize that the ladder is also broken and you can't get in the boat. After that you will inevitably get stuck again and take on water on water from the front, motor up at least 5 feet in the air. When you call AB Motorsports to help they will tell you to keep on driving, it'll be fine! My wife demanded the guy come help and he acted like we're inconveniencing him (We have over 85 years of boating experience on the boat as I type this). They also said they couldn't find us because they don't keep any trackers on the boat (huge liability risk).After rocking back and forth for 20 minutes you will get unstuck and the guy will show up and will get an attitude when you tell him that you're taking the boat back. The whole time we were able to actually ride the boat the motor made a very disturbing sound, like gravel in a blender. All in all a horrible near death experience with people that have the customer service skills of AT&T and Comcast rejects read more

Bad experience. My girlfriend and I were riding (her first time driving) and got too close to each other one time due to her being unable to turn. We didn't collide with each other, she just didn't know how to turn the jetski yet it being her first time. We continued and I reminded her we couldn't be close and maneuvered around her. The manger saw us and waited till 10 mins after the incident to send an employee out demanding us to return the skis. We had 15 mins left, but were not allowed to finish with a warning or receive a refund. The owner was very rude about the incident and seemed to not want us there from the beginning. When we docked there was another family there (group of 5, non-black) waiting for jetskis. There was only 3 skis available plus our two, insuinuating they just needed more jetskis So I wouldn't recommend if your a minority. Also be careful the owner released that families keys to us. We drove off not knowing till my girlfriend asked who's keys are those, we returned the items. read more

Other jet skiing companies don't allow you to travel so far out with their equipment so it's definitely worth the adventure for the price.
