I ran out of propane on New Years Day...definitely my oversight. I called Beaudry Propane in Elk River for an emergency propane delivery. I was told it would cost $175 for the delivery plus another $40 for a propane leak test...$215 total (lucky I prepay for my propane annually...no telling how much that would have cost!). I am upset because I think this is predatory pricing. I have been a customer for years and have never run out of propane. Unfortunately, with the extreme cold temps the propane usage caught me off guard. Beaudry also charges a $79 delivery charge if you don't meet the minimum delivery amount. If this wasn't bad enough, the delivery could take up to two hours! Temp in our home is under 60 degrees and dropping. Why am I paying for the "emergency" delivery price? Over the years, I have also had the propane driver run over my mailbox and leave my gate to my back yard open for my dogs to get out! A few years ago, when I was out of work, I needed some propane and was charged $5 a gallon! I did not have the money so I had to draw out some retirement savings just to be able to heat my house! I know life is never perfect, and sometimes I am my own worst enemy for my problems, but there have been too many instances of "bad luck" with Beaudry's service (or lack thereof). I am going to research removing their propane tank from my yard and seek out another propane company for my heating needs. Not a happy camper! read more
