Beats and Burrito was a nice little gem in Lagos! My travel partner is a HUGE fan of Mexican food. Although burritos aren't typical Portuguese fare, it was a delicious lunch and added a little variety to our diet. The menus were simple and straightforward. There were papers at each table where diners could fill out what they wanted on their food in terms of meat, toppings, sides ETC. Both the chicken quesadilla and beef burrito were good! The medium salsa added some spice to the burrito. The service was quick and friendly. Our server explained everything well and with a smile. Overall, we had a good experience here! read more

This is *NOT* authentic Mexican food - this can't be considered Mexican food at all! Not Mexican food in Mexico, not Mexican food in California, not it even in Texas. I've lived in both Mexico and California (secondary to Mexico in terms of authenticity). Putting avocado and pico de gallo in a tortilla shell doesn't make it Mexican. Now that I got that out of the way, the food here is ok. It's just random ingredients thrown together but it's nothing special. It is super overpriced for what it is. It's also cash only. A must have when in Lagos. The smell alone will drive you in and you won't regret it. The burrito is delicious and balanced. Not too much of any ingredient and just right. The margarita is slightly tart but not bad. The restaurant is full of art made by customers and gives the place a fun/inviting feeling. The employees are very friendly. read more

This is a little bit of a hipster place. You go in and they give you a sheet of paper and you check off what you want: burrito, 3 soft tacos or a bowl. You check off what toppings you want and they make it for you. We got a beef burrito and 3 chicken tacos. Both were fairly good with fresh ingredients. Amazing hidden gem in Lagos!! We wanted to find something to eat rather than traditional Portuguese food for lunch during our visit. This place did not steer us wrong. Causal place with a young hip vibe. We had the chicken quesadilla and chicken soft tacos. So so delicious and flavorful. Not to mention a HUGE portion for what we paid! Our group of eight all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We stopped by the night before and it was packed and they said it would be 45 minutes for a table so we came back a couple days later at 3:00 and were able to sit down right away. Wait staff was very nice and we ordered a variety of burritos, bowls and tacos. Everyone was very satisfied. Definitely would recommend this place. read more

This place is upsetting. First of all they got all of our orders completely wrong, and got a couple other tables orders wrong around us. The service was pretty pitiful and they ran out of some of the most basic items on the list like rice... finally, there quesadillas don't come with cheese in them... you have to specifically request cheese. Which makes absolutely no sense, because a quesadilla is literally tortilla with cheese. I was lucky enough to find this place. Rode my motorcycle through the small little streets and happened to park just a few feet away. I love burritos and eat them all the time in the US. But this place has probably the best burrito I have eaten. Especially that the whole burrito is warm with melted cheese and a slightly crisp yet still soft outside... mmh... not sure when I will be back in the area but one can be certain that I will be back if I am. read more

This place is bad, real bad. Firstly, the tables are so awkwardly set up in this restaurant that it's awkward for groups because you sit in a line instead of facing each other. You will also have to wait about 45 minutes to get your food which is confusing because they make such basic food. The starters are nachos or quesadillas. The nachos are literally chips from a bag with a dish of salsa and sour cream on the side. The quesadilla is literally just cheese inside. Very creative. The main dishes include again the same quesadilla just bigger or burritos. The burritos are okay, extremely basic flavours though. Not a burrito you will ever remember. Also the staff seemed so incredibly useless. There was one girl who was literally busting her ass doing everything while everyone else was on a smoke break, on their phone, or just hanging out. The other girl working was washing dishes or mopping the floor while everyone sat in the restaurant without drinks or food. It's also really awkward to be mopping while patrons are still in your restaurant, it makes people feel like they need to leave soon. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of one is because the one server really was working so hard and was very friendly. Overall poorly managed, bad food, and clearly only care about getting money from tourists. read more
