**2021/2022 UPDATE** I found myself needing updated headshot…read moreand upper body photos for a Woman's History Month national campaign with OUTFRONT media, and could think of no one better than Claudia Hoag to execute my vision. The warmth, kindness, and patience was what I remembered, just in a newer and larger studio - WOW OH WOW!! The new location is convenient, spacious, and easy to find. I was able to park and walk to the front door, in the rain, with no issue. My prior comments stand - Claudia is an amazing partner and she works to help you bring forth your best in photos (and in spirit while taking them!), and now she has a space where she can shine even brighter! ***** As a shy person, I've never been comfortable being the center of attention. I was looking for a photographer because, for the first time ever, I needed a headshot for work. Claudia was one of many photographers recommended, but man did I luck up by choosing her! She was the first, and only photographer I contacted. The photos on her site had the aesthetic for which I was looking, and the fact that she is a female business owner sealed the deal! I took my mom and Chief of Staff to my session, because I'm generally nervous and hate taking pictures, so I knew they would help me to relax. Had I known how amazing Claudia was, I wouldn't have bothered my mom or CoS AT ALL, though I'm glad we were all present because we had an amazing time!! Claudia prepped me for the shoot by suggesting what would look best (and being honest and open about what wouldn't), so I was mostly ready when we arrived. Her studio is cute and fit us all - she played music to help me relax too, and allowed my family/framily to speak with me and her during the shoot. She was SO patient with me (I was MARBLE stiff!!) and really helped me to actually smile!! I can't believe it's really me in the proofs!!! If you're looking for a photographer with a great eye for what will look amazing, and will make THE MOST nervous person comfortable, look no further!! Claudia Hoag is your lady!!!

She didn't want to help me over the phone, and that was fine because her attitude was so crap, I didnt even wanna go there. I told her I had the confirmation email even from THEIR site. So instead of providing me customer service she told me forward that to them and they'll respond. First off, I'm not in lighting. So as a person who was in need of renting lights for a teenagers birthday party, to get an email talking about 2500 deposit or 10000 in insurance policy, etc. for a light kit I found at several other places for $80 a day and not all this drama and tension. Glad she turned me off with her rude ass. Now.. the way life works.. I do work in the entertainment business for one of the largest networks. Without the camera, I would have been in bad shape. I called Billy at Stray Angel, and when we couldn't troubleshoot the problem, he couriered another camera body to me asap. The shoot went off without a hitch, the client went home happy. Stray Angel Rocks!

I've taken a lot of different acting classes around LA (even Zoom ones based out in NY) and this…read moreone taught by Eric Kline is unique. I started here in summer 2023 and went here consistently for about a year. I'm not sure if it's still the same format but when I was there you would pay for class per 2 weeks session -- so one week you and your scene partner would do a zoom cold read with each other and Eric. You should have worked up the scene prior to the cold read as well and discuss it with Eric at the cold read. Then the following week you would meet up (I was in the Tuesday evening class) at the studio to perform the scene. Depending on who your scene partner is, you could schedule to meet to practice your scene more if you wanted. But most people I believe just chose to meet up half-hour to hour prior to in-person class to practice. What I really liked about this class is that you get experience being filmed at every in-person class. He has two 4K cameras, a green screen where he can project a background, and a boom mic. So you're not just performing your scene on a stage while your peers watch. You will get to perform while also learning the technical aspects of how to perform on camera. THIS is why I went to Eric's class! I got an experience that is close to being on a set. Also you can get experience working the camera or holding the boom mic while your peers do their scene. At the end of class, you will watch everyone's scene and Eric will give his critiques. You can also request to get a copy of your scene, which was $10 when I was there. Since I started acting in 2023, this really helped me to build a reel so I had something to self-submit for auditions and later on when I submitted to agents. Eric teaches Tony Barr's technique (hence the name of the studio -- Eric and Tony were good friends). I don't know how to describe Tony Barr's teachings but it just made sense to me -- it's practical and realistic. I felt I could organically just let go and be present in the scene. I believe I did 1 or 2 private sessions with Eric before I felt comfortable to come to the in-person classes. But you don't have to do that, that's just what I did as I was new to acting and had to get over the nerves of being on camera. Every actor I met in class was nice and very supportive. Eric created a safe space for everyone to learn and can make bold choices. I highly recommend this place!

He knows more about film acting than anyone I've ever met, and I have met many actors, directors, teachers. This is without a doubt the best acting class in Los Angeles. He's the most brilliant acting teacher in the state, but doesn't spend much of his energy advertising. Works for me because there's always a spot for me, and there's no other class I want to be in. Also, this is one of the only classes that shoots the scenes we work. Being in this class not only sharpens talent but it also gives students new footage every two weeks.
