We arrived the night before to set up a few little things of our own: photos, picture book, arch where the bride and groom stand. But other than that, they had EVERYTHING decorated and ready to go. And boy oh boy was it BEAUTIFUL! Great lighting, stunning furniture, beautiful brick walls, clean bathrooms and bride-room. It was amazing. The best part was they really did everything in that department, all we had to do was show up and try to look as good as the venue itself! Mitzi & Scott are the owners and they are some of the nicest and easiest people to work with. Scott was the music magician all night and announced the program throughout. He did a fabulous job! And Mitzi was behind the scenes making sure everything ran perfect and smooth. They catered a waffle bar during the reception (again, deliciously perfect and my mouth is salivating while writing this) and even boxed up some for my cute mom to take home at the end of the night since she didn't get a chance to taste it. If you need a place to host anything, this is the one! TIPS & TRICKS: * It's in a great location! As a result, I has the most beautiful wedding and reception. He did such a great job interpreting my view into a breathtaking wedding. He was so fun to work with. He has a hilarious sense of humor and was so great at making sure this bride had zero stress when it came the decor. My bouquet was insanely beautiful and he even inputted the single carnation i requested for my now husbands late mom. He also set up a memorial table for my late brother and my hubands mother. It brought comfort and tears to many eyes. The flower girl halos were whimsical and so gorgeous. Our little girls were so excited to look like princesses. David was professional and so was his staff. Our photographer was extremely late at no fault to David but he kept us all calm and even stepped up to make phone calls to them and started taking pictures of us getting ready and before the ceremony with his own cell phone and ours. He reassured us that no wedding goes off without a hitch and helped us make light of the situation. He did whatever it took to accomplish my vision and it was more beautiful than I could ever have dreamed. It literally took our breath away!! We found David at the D.I.Y. bridal expo and the lady representing his company talked so very…read morehighly of David, she was even using him for her upcoming wedding, so we scheduled to sit down with him. At this first meeting, we discussed all of what we wanted, one of the big needs was an outdoor white tent. We received a quote of about $3,000. We mentioned that we may go to a different vendor for florals, and he was very put off by this. We were very pleased at this number, surprised at all that we could receive at that price, and decided to schedule a second meeting where we could view a line item and finalize paperwork. When we arrived, David was walking around the shops nearby and as we walked in, he gasped as is surprised to see us. He explained that we were not on his assistants books, but he could have sworn that we had an appointment that afternoon. This was our first red flag. He was extremely unorganized, and throughout the appointment, he would have to get up and leave the store to figure out something on the side. Prior to walking in to the meeting, we read his google reviews. Many were fans of David, but two in particular took their time to write a detailed review about their awful experiences with David. Between the two, it was mentioned that the staff was late to the ceremony and reception, the bouquet showing up minutes before walking down the aisle, wrong table cloth colors, wrong floral colors, ect. As a bride and her family, this was extremely concerning and needed to be brought up. When a member of our group began to ask David about the reviews, he cut them off and began a rant about the previous customers, made a very racist remark toward them, bashed on their wedding party, and cussed multiple times. During his rant, he also mentioned multiple times that he "does not need our business". He explained that there are two sides to every story, and we did not deny that, but the way the conducted himself, yelling and cursing, was not professional in the least. Once he was done talking, it was mentioned that we should move on from that topic, and he looked at the person who brought up the reviews and said, "Well this one still has a craw up her butt", his words exactly. Never mind the way he conducted himself, but when we received our line item, the total was $9,716.06!! This is more than 3X what we were quoted, and this did not even include the tent! He blamed that large number on us because of our floral requests, but in the first meeting, he was pleased by our floral request because there is only one bridesmaid and one groomsman. Once we said that that was not what was discussed, he said that he would go to the computer to see what he could do. After cutting down on decorations, lights, linen quality, the final price was $5,904.04, nearly double our original quote.

My daughter wanted to have a real-live pony @ her birthday party…read more I did some research & found that renting a pony can be pricey! In my search I located several companies that fit the bill, for my need... The online information for Pony Haven stated a lot about the company history, & had several testimonials about the services rendered, but there was no pricing listed. I called and spoke to the proprietor, Diane. She quoted me a VERY reasonable price for the pony rental ($135 for 3 hours + a tip for the driver). And I decided that Pony Haven would be my best option. The basic details are: that they ONLY accept cash (@ the time of delivery) as payment. They drop the pony off at the location where you are having your event. Nobody from Pony Haven stays with the pony. You get the pony for 3 hours, and at the end of that time a Pony Haven employee retrieves the pony. For the most part, my experience was good. Andy the pony was dropped off at our house at 10AM. We were told that he had just been watered, & that we wouldn't need anything to drink while he was with us. But we were welcome to give him apples & carrots as snacks. Our backyard is about 1/3 of an acre, and I felt like that provided plenty of room for Andy to walk around. However, right from the start, Andy didn't want to venture outside any area that wasn't shaded by my aspen, or lilac trees. He was one stubborn pony! The Pony Haven employees gave us some pointers on how to get Andy to walk, but as time went on; he responded less, & less to our gentle nudges. Eventually, we called it good, & let Andy have his way. Meandering in the shade. All of the 5 little girls that we invited to the party got a pony ride. So that's really what matters. The only reason I didn't give Pony Haven 5 stars is because they were 40 minutes late picking up Andy the pony. When 30 minutes passed from the time they were supposed to pick him up, I called to inquire about an ETA, but no one answered the phone. Of course, my kids weren't unhappy about having a pony in their backyard for an extra 40 minutes, but I had other things on my agenda, that needed to be done that day, and would have appreciated (at the very least) a courtesy-call; saying they were running behind. That hiccup aside, I'd do business with them again.
