As a bald man, you may be saying, "huh? Why?" Well, let me tell you, my two sons and I love this barber shop! Gabriel, Henry, and I go to this retro barber shop at least monthly for their hair cuts and my beard trims. Eric is our barber and he does a wonderful job from top to bottom on my kid's differing hair. The shop is sensitive to the needs of all hair types and is the best in the area for trimming and cutting my beard for me. I cannot emphasize just how awesome this place is. If there was one downfall, they are quite literally busy all the time. You need to get there during down hours like 1-3 pm or right as they open on a weekend, otherwise you'll be waiting for at least 45 minutes. Recently, they have attempted to rectify their weekend issues with scheduling on an app interface. I will update once I've experienced the new app. Keep up the awesome work guys! read more

Demetri makes this much more than a haircut, but rather an experience. The dude is affable, professional and can flat out hook up hair. I am a fade guy and if you think a fade is a fade, go to sport clips. However, if you have any desire to make the best first impression possible, look the best you can possibly look, and have pride in the way you present yourself, than Demetri is your man. Appointment after appointment, I walk out looking better than what I pictured in my head prior to. That's called... exceeding expectations! So on Feb. 24 2021, I had came in as a walk in at their Algonquin location around 4:25 the owner told me it would be a little while and asked if I wanted to save a spot for 5:15. I agreed and came back at 5:10. They were still somewhat full. The same guy was finishing up with someone. It seemed he went to take a break which is fine but then someone else finished up as well. Then I kept waiting and waiting until I finally was fed up and left at 5:37! Terrible service. Oh and they left me with cuts in the back of my neck a year back at their Huntley location. read more

By far the worst haircut experience of my life. The barber "accidentally" cut a hole about the size of a quarter in the exact middle of my head that went nearly to the scalp. As a result they had to cut my hair off almost entirely. I am now virtually bald, and will have to walk around getting looks and questions for weeks. The barber wasn't particularly apologetic, he really didn't seem to care. He gleefully told me this one was on the house, as if that was ever in question... Look at the age of the people cutting your hair at this establishment, and remember that they really haven't been doing this very long, and may not entirely know what they're doing. I'm not sure that all of the supposed barbers are even of drinking age, but we're trusting them to make us look good. Are they deserving of that trust? read more

I called earlier in the afternoon to schedule an appointment for later on, early-evening, and was informed that Beardsley's only takes appointments on Fridays and Saturdays. Interesting I thought and told the gentleman who answered I'd be there later. After work, I drove about 15 minutes to give this place a try, as other places near home (65 miles away) just weren't cutting it. I walk in and put my name on the sign-in sheet with about 8 people ahead of me. *The only negative I have for this place is the wait, but I now see why. I waited for about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half. I'm still not sure why they don't take appointments during the week, but I can live with it. Jeremy cut my hair after I showed him a picture of what I wanted. He took his time, made great conversation, and even made suggestions on areas he thought I may wanted addressed based on his experience. The haircut turned out phenomenal and he cleaned up my beard for a small upcharge. Jeremy is the reason this place received 5 stars instead of 4. The wait was dreadful, but worth it in the end because of Jeremy's work. Overall, I enjoyed the services Jeremy provided and will be coming back in the future. read more

Ok so I went to this barber shop to get a hot shave. Wow it was awesome talked with the owner to find out his family has been in the business for year and they have other shops . This place is great highly recommend the hot shave. I stopped in around lunch time and there was no hint of bad breath like the last reviewer reported went on to read his other reviews to find out he was upset because a waitress had on to much perfume must have a sensitive nose . read more

I came here for my first non-chain business haircut. I usually got to somewhere like Supercuts (which my barber never heard of). At places like that you get the luck of the draw and hope your cut comes out OK. My haircut is pretty simple, have had it cut the same way for 15-20 years. Short buzz on the sides blended up with some length left on the top for a little gel. I was looking for a place to get my first straight razor shave. Figured this would be a decent place to try. I told him I never had one, not sure how it goes or what to ask for. We had a back and fourth about it, so I figured it wouldn't be an issue. He said they were out of hot towels, but wasn't an issue. Made no difference to me bc I had no frame of reference. My biggest grip was that they cut your hair with your back to the mirror the entire time so you can't tell them if they are messing up how you want it. Aside from the fact that this was the first haircut I have ever had where they CUT IT DRY. Why? As soon as I could see through the hair stuck in my eyes and mouth he turned me around so I could see a $17 buzz cut. He ask if it looked ok, I said yes. What was I going to do? Tell him to make my hair grow back because it's too short? He gave me a neck shave and whipped the cover off asking me if i needed anything else. Thinking to myself about the straight razor shave conversion we had that he must have forgotten about, I said no. If it was anything like the haircut And fact that I remembered the shave costing $21! I just wanted to get out. I don't walk out of a haircut mad that much but oh well, it grows back. Gave 2 stars and a $4 tip because the kid looked like he was trying? If your looking for the standard bro haircut with the fade and the part, this is your place though, I think that's all everyone was there for. read more

I had been growing my hair out for 2 years deciding what I wanted to do with it. When I finally decided I knew an old fashioned barber wouldnt be able to do what I wanted so I decided to go to a modern barber. I had been to Beardsley for straight razor shaves before. So I went in told the barber what I wanted and we discussed it at length. My hair at this point was very long so I was understanding when it took awhile but the finished product was not what I asked for. I wanted to keep the left side long, he kept the top left length long but he buzzed the side to a 2 guard. The back and right sides were not faded as I requested. Instead he used a 1 guard on the back and right side from my ears to the top. Its not like the guy didnt understand what I was looking for; we spoke at length, I had a picture reference, and he spoke several times with the barber next to him about the cut. So now I need to go to a chain haircut place to fix it. Would not recommend. read more
