There's absolutely nothing in the area as far as convenience stores or shops. The Lodge 'convenience store sold some small, very expensive package goods and T-shirts but it smelt like Grandma's armpits. Bring cases of water and your favorite beverages and a cooler!!! Maybe you could bring your own little small barbecue for outside your car if you wanted ! We also brought a coffee maker of our own, which was recommended to us. Best thing we did. Don't forget to bring your favorite treats and snacks up and instant soups and oatmeal. We decided to have wine last night by the fire pit, and it was gas lit very loud and no warmth We went to the grizzly lounge. We had a few cocktails and appetizers that were Mid. You come here to ski, but when you rest your head, you want some convenience and comfort Have a great season ! Pray for snow!

The overall lodge and the rooms are dated and could definitely use a refresh. They have janky & clunky keys to open doors, old heaters to heat rooms & the world's oldest elevator. Not only that they don't provide coffee machines or an iron in the rooms, forget a microwave or a fridge. For the hefty price they charge, they don't even refresh your rooms or offer turndown service if you stay more than a night. I saw several active leaks in the common areas on the 4th floor and at the check-in desk. The staff literally had a paper cup to catch the leaking water. Plus the restaurant options they have are terrible. If I had another option in BV, I'd definitely avoid this place. But they will continue to have customers as there isn't too many other options for people.

We were assigned to the yurt which was totally off-the-grid. The yurt has no power, no toilet, even no water you could access. The yurt was located at the top of the rock mountain, where it could only be reached through a unpaved narrow path (unless you have a off-road vehicle) otherwise it would be impossible to drive your own car parked next to the yurt. Although it was a full furnished yurt, none of the LED light setup inside worked. Since there were no water access inside the yurt or nearby, either you need to prepare enough water for your "glamping" experience , or you need to spent 15-20mins walking thru the dirty unpaved road to the nearest toilet to get the water. Yes, you need to walk 15 to 20mins to the "nearest' toilet , and the toilet was definitely horrible, it only had two toilets and one shower place, and the shower place was totally NOT in "glamping" quality, I would say it looked like a dirty public toilet where I did not even want to spend 1 minute in there. The camping area did not have any EV charging station, where you need to walk 10 mins on "HIGHWAY" back to the hotel reception/restaurant area. Although the map that the hotel provided shown there was a hiking trail access from camping/glamping area back to restaurant, that was NOT true. The staff told us the trail was not walkable and without any clear direction. In summary, if you are looking for comfort yurt glamping , wylder hotel yurt is not your choice. I would like to give credit to Cari, who is the staff working in camping area. She had gave us a great help to move all of our items from the yurt back to our car because she did notice my car would definitely could not reach to the yurt area. Thanks Cari.

I've stayed at the lodge 3 times so far and look forward to the tranquility everytime. It's a hidden gem in Grass Valley right off Highway 49 (2-3 hours drive from the bay area). It's very close to several great spots on the Yuba river where you can spend the day swimming and bathing in the sun. The lodge is great for large groups, has three very nice bedrooms in the main building, another one attached to the yoga studio (which is just steps away), and a HUGE attic area upstairs that spans the whole length of the house and has something like eight beds up there. There's a great big commercial size kitchen so prep, cooking, and cleaning is quite easy. The main room is open concept with an expansive dining table, a large living room area, and an old fashion salon style bar. Relaxation is the key to this place! There is no TV; only the sounds of joyous laughter when you sit around the living room sharing stories or out in the back patio area surrounded by nature and a small babbling brook. Beyond the herb/vegetable garden is a chicken coup and a fun kick it spot where we usually roast marshmallows at night. Just past that is a large pavillion to make the occasion a little more formal. We met sweet neighbors along the way and saw mama deer and her fawns. It surely felt like a home away from home. You can even do laundry while you stay here.
