Building where you pay for golf, food and ice cream.

Over the years Bear Rock Junction has slowly added on to their offerings trying to become a real one stop shop. They started with their two mini-golf courses and their miniature train ride but that expanded to offering ice cream and food. Over the years they expanded the length of the train ride along with adding go karts and a seasonal corn maze with hayride. I have never driven the go karts (nor will I ever) so I can't comment on that nor can I comment on their corn maze as I've only seen it from driving by on 309 nor can I comment on their hayrides or pumpkin picking as we have several options for each much closer to home. No, when we come it's for old school outdoor seasonal mini-golf. A huge shout-out needs to go to ownership who clearly spend some dough to keep everything looking in good shape. The outdoor mini-golf carpets are overall in good shape and the grounds are always well landscaped and manicured. The course while not as crushingly difficult as courses like Putt-U or The Caddy Shack in Manheim, is solid with some water in play especially on the track #2 course but for the most part it's the need to be able to bank or angle things (having some grasp of geometry wouldn't be a bad thing) is what's going to save you from a bunch of 5's or 6's. In case you were wondering if the courses have putt-putt street cred, no dice here as they do not offer a free game hole which is really the only let down about playing here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ytCEuuW2_A Afterwards they offer the usual Italian Ice and ice cream offerings that you would expect along with burgers, dogs, chicken fingers, fries and pizza on weekends only Overall Bear Rock is not the best course in the area as that still goes to Putt-U nor is it personally the best course I've ever played in terms of fun (Tee-Time in OCNJ) or in terms of getting my balls broken with difficulty (The Caddy Shack in Manheim) but what it is would be a solid and well maintained mini-golf course that is fun and slightly challenging at the same time. If you go: Check their website or the FB page for current hours as they do change. Golf: Adults: $7.50 Children (4-12): $5.50 Seniors: $6.50 Train Rides: Saturdays & Sundays 2pm-8pm $2.50/per person Go Karts: Driver: $11.75 (must be a minimum of 56″) Rider: $4.40 (must be a minimum of 36″) Corn Maze/Hay Ride: Admission: $6.50 per person Hayride: $2.50 per rider Friday 5-9pm; Saturday & Sunday 12-9pm Credit is accepted!

My wife wanted to take the kids to go miniature golfing and I found Bear Rock Junction. The reviews here were good so I thought this would be a great place to try out this past Saturday. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. We all played miniature golf and had a great time. The course was very clean and well maintained and was not too easy. I was able to get two hole in ones and my 7 year old son did as well and boy was he so happy. As for the go carts, it is so much fun. The track is good and challenging. The speed is satisfying. People are nice. Wait is acceptable. It is not cheap, but for it is worth it. The ice cream was cold and good, but nothing amazing. It lacked a wow factor, but was smooth, creamy enough and hard. Overall, we had a great time here. The prices seem competitive with what is nearby and all the staff here was great, which goes a long way. I would definitely recommend coming here for miniature golf.

I have been coming to Knoebel's almost every summer since 1979. I have watched it change and grow,…read morebut what's remarkable is how much it has stayed true to itself. It is still family owned. It still feels personal. It still feels like the kind of place built for joy rather than spreadsheets. Knoebel's has one of the most unique setups of any amusement park in the country. There is no admission fee. None. You pay only for what you want to ride, or you can get an all-day wristband on weekdays. Parking is free too. You can bring in your own food and non-alcoholic drinks without any hassle. The food they sell is good and affordable, and the variety is incredible. This is not frozen burger-and-fries territory. Knoebel's regularly wins the Golden Ticket Award for Best Food, beating out giant, big-budget parks from across the nation. And it is not just the food that gets recognition. The Phoenix, a masterpiece of a wooden roller coaster rebuilt from the bones of a coaster in Texas, has been named the Best Wooden Coaster in the world more than once. The Haunted Mansion is consistently ranked among the best dark rides anywhere. These rides are not nostalgia pieces coasting on reputation. They are legitimately great. Add in the one-of-a-kind Flying Turns, the steel thrill of Impulse, the twisting chaos of Twister, and the wonderfully unpredictable Flyer, and you have a lineup that would stand out even in parks five times the size. The park's setting is part of its magic. It is nestled in the mountains, shaded by towering trees. On hot days, the shade makes all the difference. The paths wind like a midway at a state fair, and in fact, that is what Knoebel's most closely resembles: a permanent state fair where you are not constantly being wrung for every dollar. It is relaxed, welcoming, and wonderfully unpolished in the right ways. It is dog friendly, which means you can bring the whole family, four-legged members included. For those who want to stay overnight, there is an on-site campground with everything from tent sites to cabins, as well as the Crystal Pool for swimming on hot summer afternoons. Knoebel's has been part of my life for over four decades, and it remains my favorite amusement park in the world. I love being able to watch my sons create memories on some of the same rides I loved at their age while exploring new additions together. It is proof that you can grow and improve without losing your heart. Every year I leave with the same thought: I cannot wait to come back.

We went there for the first of their Halloween nights and it was decorated really nice. I was impressed and we had our granddaughter with us so we spent a lot of time in the children's area for the rides and we were able to get her in on a few big people rides, which was very nice. We did want to go on the haunted train, but it was closed, which was kind of strange They do have plenty of food selections and it seems their prices are just a little bit on high side for what they offer and what portion you get so I would walk around and take a look and see what you really really want and the pricing but the food that we had was freshly prepared. It was good worth the money no The lines were not that long at times we were able to go on the rides pretty much when we walked up to them until it started to get more in the evening and the rides got a little bit longer lines, but it move very fast. The rides are in great shape. They're very well lit very very nice looking Parking on the other hand, we forgot where we parked and it took us a lot to find our vehicle so make sure when you park you look at the road number for which we failed to do It's a really nice ride at this time of year out of Harrisburg to go up there. Plenty of open highway traffic moved well getting off the highway and going down the back roads to the park. We had no problems whatsoever. Note there is a Starbucks there that it's not an actual true Starbucks you need to put your own cream and sugar and other items in your drink so just be aware of that We highly recommend us amusement park and we look forward to many more visits over the next coming years

Dorney is gorgeous in many areas and has kept much of its charm as a trolley park of 100 years ago. I've been going here for decades but also hadn't been back for a long long time. I remember Hercules in the 90's so that's my frame of reference. The staff was friendly and helpful, the park was super clean the two times we visited and all rides were working except maybe one. We got one meal pass for the day and everything we got with that was excellent besides the undercooked Chickie's & Pete's crab fries. The chicken tenders here are some of the best I've ever had inside an amusement park, absolutely gigantic and golden perfection. The mac n cheese was a hit with the littles crowd. My kids absolutely loved everything about the Snoopy area, this is probably one of the best kiddie area's I've ever seen at least on the east coast amusement park scene. Our favorite rides were Iron Menance, the old school whip and the Thunder Creek Mountain. But really, even the coasters approaching or already 20+ years old were as smooth as could be and didn't cause any headaches due to the smashing against the headrests. The deal on a gold pass good through 2026 was just too good to pass up so we even went back a second day! They have already paid for themselves after getting two free days of parking and two days of admission. We are so excited about the merger of SF & CF because of the amount of parks they now allow you access to. Six Flags New England is our home park and will be going several times to end 2025 and are already making plans to return to Dorney at some point in 2026. I hope they never get away from their Cedar Fair roots and join the darkside of what can be experienced at the lower level Six Flags parks. This is still a gem of the area when compared to its peers like Six Flags Great Adventure and Great Escape that are within driving distance. Good on you Dorney, for keeping this place exactly as it should be all of these years. Just the right size for the area and even on some hot days, never felt TOO crowded.

In case you're wondering, no, it's not the fastest in the state.......that claim is held by the incredible Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood. For years, Steel Force was the biggest and baddest coaster on the eastern seaboard, but the recent additions of Nitro @ SFGAd in New Jersey and Fury 325 @ Carowinds have usurped the title once held by this Steve Okamoto-designed monstrosity. Situated at the back of the part, this hypercoaster relies purely on speed + height as its defining attributes, with some always appreciated camelback hills coming on the return trip. There's a tunnel at the base of the 205ft drop, and another tunnel at the bottom of one of the hills towards the end of the run. The turnaround gives some nice positive G's throughout the 540° helix without being overly jarring. There was some VERY unnerving side-to-side rocking on the 200ft lift hill, which made a normally calm and collected Eric S extremely anxious. I suppose that just heightened the thrill factor, but when there's absolutely nothing to your left except a hundred foot dropoff, that gets one's heart racing a bit. Great pockets of airtime on the 'bunny hops' headed back to the station platform. Steel Force has several "sibling" coasters at sister Cedar Fair parks: Mamba @ Worlds of Fun, Wild Thing @ ValleyFair!, and of course Magnum XL-200 @ Cedar Point. Not to take anything away from this awesome coaster, but I will say that Magnum delivers a crazier ride than SF in my opinion (cannot comment on the first two....although I will be visiting Minnesota later this summer.....) I will say that Steel Force is the only truly 'extreme' coaster at the normally reserved Dorney Park. Lines can get long, but during summer months a 3-train operation cranks through guests no problem, so waits shouldn't be a major issue most of the time. With regard to the font row vs back row debate, it's a straight wash in my opinion. Between the rather lengthy ride time of 3 minutes and a peak velocity of 75mph, it is without question Dorney's best coaster. The Force is indeed strong with this one.......

We went straight to the water park, and there was nobody around as it was a little cold. We did the lazy river, which was a lot of fun. There are lots of spray areas where you can get wet as you travel along the river. Pirates cove is really cute with the pirate ship and all the smaller slides for the smaller kiddos that go into the shallow water. I took my kids on the bigger water slides and we had a blast. All the slides were thrilling and we went on them multiple times. The staff at the water slides were so nice, very helpful, and patient as we learned how to sit in the tubes. It was a great way to start off LOMB. After we got our waterpark fix, we changed and went on all the rides. They are small amusement park rides, but both of my kids enjoyed them. They went on every ride (many of them twice). After awhile, my daughter was starting to feel a bit nauseous as they have a lot of spinning rides so she had to tap out. We rode the train around the park and the conductor gave us a little tour of the area. We also visited the Halloween house and Santa's barn. Let me tell you - the Santa barn surprised me as I didn't expect a real Santa to be inside. My kids loved visiting him multiple times. He gave them cookie cutters and he was very kind. (At first I thought he was an animatronic, haha). As stated by many previous posts, it is nice that you can bring your own food. We purchased food from one of the stands, and it actually wasn't that bad at all. And the price is right! We ended the day with some ice cream of course. We spent most of the day there. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back next summer.
