This rating is only for the our sandwich experience…read more On our way to Eureka, we made a stop in Ferndale so I could see the Victorian buildings. My two older kids were starving and while we walked through town, we found Ferndale Meat Co . and saw that they sold sandwiches. Prices were great - $9 for a whole, $6 for half sandwich. There is also a dining area adjacent to the area where you order, and it has a ton of pictures of award winning livestock, and it's where the restroom is located. In addition to sandwiches, they also sell sausages and butchered meat by the pound. They also have a basket with little bags of Ferndale sand for sale. Hahaha We picked up 2 order forms, filled them out and gave it to the employee. Not sure how they run their business, but it wasn't very busy, and it didn't seem like anyone was really working. OMG, it took about 45 min to get the sandwiches. Once we got them and the boys sat down to eat them, we realized that the sandwiches were made wrong. They were both supposed to be hot sandwiches and they both were cold. My oldest son's sandwich was missing the pickles. But he was so hungry he didn't send it back to get fixed. My middle son's sandwich was supposed to have mustard, and no mayo, but he got mayo no mustard. I had to go back a couple times with the order ticket to show the lady what we actually ordered and for her to warm the sandwich. She apologized and offered to make a brand new one, but at this point we had already waited so long we said it was fine and just asked for a side of mustard so that he could put it in the sandwich. I am really disappointed with this experience at Ferndale Meat Co., I can't believe it took so long to get our entire order made wrong. It's a freaking sandwich, how hard could it be? Fun fact, Guy Fieri used to live in Ferndale and currently owns the Ferndale Meat building.

We wanted some tri tip for a last minute bbq so we came here. Asked what the grade of meat was and…read morewas told choice. We asked if they could trim them. Guy went to the back came back less than 5 mins and tossed a bag on the scale tied it up and charged us. We get home they were absolutely not trimmed and covered in silver skin, and globs of fat. If you're a butcher you don't leave silver skin on meat like that. We trimmed the meat and as it was a full pound lighter we decided to season and cook it. We cooked it like we always cook our tri tips (usually from Costco) and this meat was so chewy it was absolutely not choice grade meat. Never again will we go to springville meat co.
