It's a great way to bump into everyone you know. Snow City is usually the main entity running the show, but other organizations often chip in. There are often lots of kid-friendly activities. There's stalls with fine flowers, healthful honey, a parade of pickled items like garlic & other pickled delicacies, marvelous mushrooms, various vegetables & flavorful fruits. Most take credit card. I learned about pink as wells as lion's mane mushrooms. And I know that $2 for a bunch of orange beets with vitamin filled beet greens to boot is a showstopper. Don't even get me started on $3 giant leeks. I could eat just those with toast points. While it may not be for you, nobody gets more excited or fanatical about a festive farmer's market.

This is a random windmill placed in an urban area. There is free parking available nearby and the…read morewindmill is fenced off to keep inebriated patrons of the Chilkoot Charlie's from climbing it. The windmill is in pretty good shape considering its age and the fact that the owner, Mike Gordon, is tired of maintaining it. Gordon owns and operates Chilkoot Charlie's where the windmill is now located. The windmill is made of wood and has colorful lights running up and down its support structures, which vandals love throwing rocks at. the blades are also colorfully lit up at night, almost looking like a pinwheel. All the lights rarely if ever work and if they do, it is a shear miracle. The windmill dates back to the early 1960s and is an iconic city attraction. It was moved to its current location in Spenard in1985 and has a 55 gallon time capsule buried beneath it that will be opened around 2050. The windmill serves as the background to some of the city's special events like the Spenard Food Truck Carnival, Vaccination Pop-ups and This is not a stop that will take up too much of your time. With that being said, I recommend making it part of a larger itinerary or visiting it on your way to somewhere else

I don't normally write reviews, but this experience truly deserves one…read more This was only my second time at Regal Tikahtnu (I usually go to Regal Dimond), and I came because of the better movie selection. From the start, everything felt welcoming. A staff member politely asked the proper questions regarding my service dog, and I immediately felt respected and comfortable. During the movie, my dog became uncomfortable due to the noise, so I stepped out to take her to my car. That's when something stressful happened, my car would not unlock, the keypad was flashing, and nothing worked. I was honestly scared and didn't know what to do. I went back inside, and despite how busy it was, Juan stepped in to help. He went above and beyond, offering solutions, coming outside with me, and staying patient and kind through the entire situation. He even managed to help me get my car open safely without any damage. This was more than customer service, this was genuine kindness. I made sure to tell a manager because people like Juan deserve recognition. Experiences like this remind you how important it is to be kind and help others. Because of this experience, I'm even happier with my Regal subscription and will definitely keep coming back. The celebration started of as early as November when the Christmas Arts & Crafts emporium was held. There were local bazaars featuring awesome goods from Alaskan artisit and crafters. There's also a festival Christmas train aboard the Alaska railroad. All sorts of Festivals like the North Pole Christmas in Ice, Candle Lighting Festival, Festival of Lights,Winter Arts Faire and many more are here for everyone to enjoy,whether it's the kids or the kids at heart.
