To this day I don't understand why people spell doughnut, donut?!?!? My mom would always correct…read moremy spelling so I always thought you spell it doughnut and not donut. I guess this will be another one of those great debates like why did the chicken cross the road kind of thing. If you never heard of Daniel's Donuts then you better ask someone as they have been known to sell thousands upon thousands of just the Nutella one alone daily. I believe one of there stores has around 30 different donuts to choose from. Yes that's right 30 different ones. How can you choose just one? Yes you print can't. They sell each doughnut for $3.50 but you can get 6 for $15. What's cool is that they are not only IG worthy but they taste good too. My better half isn't a dessert person as she doesn't care for sweets too much and she said it had the right combination of not being too sweet and the right amount of softness to the doughnut itself. For me I love sweet and I thought it could of been a little sweeter. I wished it had a little more Nutella inside but the caramel on top was delicious. So maybe I will have to take back my words on saying it could of been sweeter. Guess the only way for me to see if it needs to be is to get six different ones. BTW I got the Nutella and the better half got the lemon filled one which she says taste better than mine. Hmph! I believe you can even order online and even have them delivered to you. Just go check out their website.

This is a 24-hour doughnut shop in Springvale with lots of NZ-style pies and baked goods. I'd heard…read morethat they had a pretty good range of vegan doughnuts, and we were in the area anyway, so we went down to check it out. I was pretty shocked to find a massive queue when we got there (on a Saturday around 3pm). Who ever expected to find such a long queue at a 24-hour doughnut shop way down in Springvale?! Luckily, the line moved fast and soon we got our orders in less than fifteen minutes. We opted for the $15 box of 6 doughnuts, trying each of their five vegan options. This included original glazed, cinnamon, Oreo, hot jam, and peanut butter and jelly (my favorite). My boyfriend also got a non-vegan Nutella doughnut. The vegan doughnuts tasted exactly like non-vegan doughnuts -- it was impossible to tell they didn't have dairy or egg in them. They also do coffee and savoury pies. Of the savoury pies, they have one vegan option -- a pumpkin and curry. I didn't try it but it looked nice. Everything was very tasty and enjoyable. It's not as good as, say, Doughnut Time, but then again you're also getting 6 doughnuts for the price of 2.5 Doughnut Time doughnuts! Basically, I wouldn't say rush all the way down here if you live in the northern suburbs or something -- these doughnuts are not THAT amazing -- but for their wide range of vegan options, they certainly get my vote (and my money!) And any south-side vegans or people with dairy/egg allergies should definitely check this place out!

There New Zealand style donuts have Melbourne hooked I picked my fresh lot up at around 3.30am on a cold rainy Saturday morning & it was packed still, My favourite is there original cream & jam it's so fresh

This place is in the top 3 of donut deliciousness that Melbourne is currently embracing in all it's glazed goodness. The donuts here are surprisingly light and fluffy. We ended up with a creme brulee and a jaffa. I'm still drooling at the thought of how good these were. The Jaffa truly captured the choc-orange flavouring without having either flavour dominate. The creme brûlée was a little on the ugly side to look at. A bit new born squished face. But all was forgiven after the first chomp into the doughy goodness. The cafe space here is within a warehouse zone. There's some great retro styling going on here. Beverage wise you can get brewed coffee, some cold drinks and some alcoholic drinks.

They are only open Fri and Sat 8am - 3pm (with Sunday being introduced soon) because they spend all week baking the ingredients - even the rubble and freckles are hand made. It's too die for. Five flavours alternating each week. Soft, Fluffy, Sweet and seriously yummy!! The donuts are made on site and you can see the bakers working their magic and smell the sweet aromas drifting from the kitchen. There is coffee available but you'll have to excuse my ignorance for not knowing exactly what brand. I made the wise choice to quit caffeine drinks some years back. I think it could be an Ethiopian brand. Nothing else for sale yet though just donuts and coffee. Whatever you do make sure you roll heads to get the coffee glaze with passionfruit curd and chocolate rubble because it will change your life, it appeared popular and was running out quickly. My advice is to be at the door by 8am. All flavours will be available and you'll be able to buy a stash. By the time we got there it was mid arvo and max purchase of two each. A big bunch of poor buggers behind us missed out. If you want to take a little rest and watch the rows of people pass in and out then just take a seat indoors at the many available tables. Keep kicking goals Brunswick and welcome to the hood All Day Donuts!!

There was really just one note, just sweet. It's creme in a donut style bun and on a plate of bananas, figs, honey comb, caramel, honey, pistachio, edible flowers. But there was no balance just sweet on sweet on sweet. Fearing this I ordered smoked salmon just to have a bit of salt. The dish was visually amazing but it was hard to eat and I couldn't finish it. I love the idea but just needed something. Even if the pistachios were salted that would have helped. I get what these guys are trying to do but it just want for me.

The newest opening comes from the team behind powerhouse cafes Short Straw, Touchwood and Tall Timber and resides in dreamy Carnegie. Located on an street corner in a mostly residential area, Left Field brings it to life with good quality food and coffee and accompanying crowds. It actually took two attempts in the weekend after opening to get a table. Left Field takes on one of the signature design trends of white walls, light timber and exposed light bulbs which offers a clean, open and modern atmosphere. A dark-toned tile mosaic behind the counter area and a scattering of potted plants throughout the cafe add a touch of colour. Seating is a mixture of small tables and booths inside and the same outside along the length of the white painted brick exterior. The food menu, as the name might suggest, is a little left field with Middle Eastern influences. Highlights include the Smashed peas bruschetta, Beetroot cured ocean trout and the Supergreen tacos. The braised Moroccan lamb shoulder with pistachio, cranberry and quinoa tabouleh, feta, green chermoulah dressing and garlic yoghurt. Presentation was a little surprisingly with fine dining-like styling. The lamb shoulder was tender and juicy with an exciting flavour combination provided by the rubbed spices and the fruity tabouleh. Gluten free, dairy free and nut-containing dishes are highlighted for those with dietary requirements. Coffee is from Niccolo with a blend and single origin espresso and filter options. Soy and almond milk is available. There is also a range of teas, soft drinks and cold pressed juices. Service is like clockwork, especially during the busy opening period. Left Field brings a touch of the city cafe culture to the outer south eastern suburbs and is sure to be a local favourite.
