We visited for the first time on Small Business Saturday and were greeted upon entering. The store was busy and there is soooo much to look at and I'm not just talking about the items for sale. The decor is beautiful and feels extremely welcoming. There is a Santa in his sleigh with reindeer hanging from the ceiling, a collection of vintage ornaments behind the register area, and an altar where you can leave a prayer request or pick one to take and pray for that person. They carry apparel, home decor, devotionals, jewelry, and much more. This will be one of my new go to stores for gift giving ideas. We walked around for awhile and found some clothes to try on. Both my daughters and I found tops that were flattering and modest. The staff was friendly and checkout was efficient. We even shared an amusing moment during the checkout process in regards to one of the items I purchased. Also, I'm not sure if it was a promotion for Small Business Saturday but when we arrived home and put our items away, we noticed a surprise; they had placed a scarf inside the bag. Thank you all, we'll be back!

Recycling The Magic - Very vintage Disney collectibles

Recycling the Magic MAGNIFIES the Magic!…read more Looking for that Dumbo souvenir from when you were a kid? That exact figurine, postcard, lithograph, plush? How about the actual Dumbo ride vehicle you sat in and went up and down and all around in? Or an original animation cel from the 1941 Walt Disney Animated Classic feature film? This is where you'll find it! I've been collecting Disneyana since I was a kid: banks, watches, park and attraction tickets, and for over 25 years now, I've been collecting Disney Pins. Today at Recycling the Magic, I found the SuperStar of my Disney Pin collection. If you're into the elevated elements of Disney Pin collecting, you know a pin art piece like this is called a Progression. It shows the progress of a pin's production through the steps of its manufacture. Until this year's 25th Anniversary Pin Celebration, the Walt Disney Imagineering cast member company store Mickey's of Glendale was the primary source for pin progressions with a few exceptions from the Disney Gallery Stores and Park Pin Event exclusives. This extraordinary example is from Disney Auctions, the online source for many of the finest, rarest, and priciest pins ever made, and was an exceptional value, especially since it's priceless to me. Disney Fine Art pieces command thousands of dollars, and this was no exception. One thing I love about Recycling the Magic is you'll find something for every taste and budget. The thing I love the most is if your Disney vacation has emptied your wallet, you'll love the combination of museum and thrift store vibe that makes every visit, no matter how often you visit, a nostalgic and surprising treasure hunt. Low on Disney dollars? Bring your pre-loved Disneyana of any kind and the lovely and classy store proprietor Becky will offer you a fair price to re-home your stuff no matter how common. The warm and funny love of her life Jerry reigns over the cash register, and is the animation, watch, and jewelry expert. My personal favorite Pat is the pin expert, and my new best pin friend! Like the store itself, the staff is friendly yet sophisticated, helpful, and knowledgeable. The hard-working Ashton, Steven, and the rest will help you schlep stuff in and out cheerfully and effortlessly. The Disney Parks and movies background music enhances the experience, and before you know it, you're wandering through a Disney fantasyland as magical as the Magic Kingdom itself. I recommend a visit to every Disney fan and Cast Member I encounter, and even though current Cast Members should know that they avoid buying from anyone currently working for the company, your friends and family are welcome to sell. Everyone I know who loves Disney loves Recycling the Magic, and today I'm head-over-heels in love with my fabulous find! Thanks a million friends!

Review of a new transplant Disney adult but the kind that doesn't need every aspect of my life…read moretouched by the mouse (if that gives any context): It's a really interesting spot. Lots of one of a kind artifacts and pieces which are really cool to look at. Pricing is quite steep. If you are going in for some fun vi take or one offs you will pay for it-this is not the place to find a bargain. I went in hoping to find some cool art that has a flavor of Disney without being in your face about it and really liked the chest of blueprints (in the back left corner of the shop) but they were all $60+ for some that were nondescript. Anything that had a real whiff of anything Disney were far more expensive. I also hoped to find a cast member badge with my name on it as I was not allowed to keep mine. No luck (they are $25 each) not I'll go back to try to keep searching for that. Lots of cool stuff just be prepared to pay estate sale prices. I almost bought a vintage embroidered MGM denim jacket ($250) not the size was way too big to justify. Most of the jackets were men's and quite large in size (most large-xxl). The women's options were largely newer and smaller sizes. I also want to note that as I was combing through the various wracks of clothing there was often a strong oder. Be it BO or mildew, it seems they do not wash the garments before putting them on the floor (which makes sense-can't blame them for that) but that also means that people are donated soiled garments. So PSA: if you donate clothing (anywhere not just here) please wash those garments first. This is just common sense and basic decency. At the end I I planned to buy two pairs of ears ($14.99 each) and a popcorn bucket ($39) bit had to take a work call before I could purchase. I left my items at the till and took my call in the car. I went back in and they were swamped-like I couldn't see the till over the people in the space so I felt a little over stimulated and left empty handed. Stopped in on a Wednesday morning thinking it wouldn't be busy on a week day in the am. I was wrong lol. It was quite congested which made it kind of difficult to browse because I feeling as though I was in someone way or pathway. A staff member was speaking with someone and I could overhear her saying it was a "slow morning" so I can't imagine what a weekend or a high traffic time is like in here. All in all it is kind of a gem even if you're just there to sip on a coffee and browse. You need time and patience to comb through e surging and you'll probably find some gems but be ready to pay for said gems. This is not a Bergen thrift store.

The Mall of Millenia falls comfortably in that category. While it is a mall that offers more higher-end shopping experiences, it still has a handful of affordable fashion retailers as well as numerous restaurants and eateries that can cater to just about anyone. Parking is ample - even on BUSY, sale days or holidays. They are home to local favorites like the Apple Store - which is always BUSY no matter the day or time. They are home to the Cheesecake Factory, The Capitol Grille, Earl's Kitchen, P.F. Changs, among other restaurants and eateries. They have, at a minimum, three Starbucks for the Starbucks fanatics. They have numerous notable department stores like Macy's and Bloomingdale's (both at opposing ends). And of course, they house Gucci, Marc Jacobs, YSL, just to name a few of the many luxury brands they have to offer. They have H&M, Urban Outfitters, Aldo, Warby Parker, and just SO MANY places to name. They will also be home to one of my favorite stores, Zara, soon enough - which I cannot wait for. I tend to frequent this mall in the evening to avoid some of the daytime crowds. Staff, from store to store, varies, but for the MOST part, they have been helpful and kind. Some of the higher-end stores do not give you weird vibes when you walk in to just look around - which is always a good thing. There's nothing worse than feeling like you are unwanted in a store. On busy days, the check-out lines can get long depending on the store you are in. However, most of the time, they are staffed well, and you are in and out. All in all, this is a pretty good mall. Did I mention, they have a small postal service area on the ground floor if you need to mail/ship out anything. I really do not have any negative experiences that turned me away from this mall as a whole. Now I've had some negative experiences with staff in certain stores, but again, those moments have been so few and far between. I will continue to patronize this mall. Also, it's pretty close to home - so it is convenient. P.S. I do miss when they were home to Crate & Barrel - it was one of my favorite stores for home décor. However, they left many, many moons ago.
