It is a very peaceful and calming environment compared to the hospital. My dad was cared for and so was my family. We were only there for about 5-6 hours or so but we are so grateful that my dad's passing was peaceful. I'm so glad it was at Hospice House and not at the hospital. They have a wonderful kitchen with drinks and snacks with a microwave. Our private suite had its own refrigerator. The sitting room was so comfortable compared to the hospital. After 4 days of sitting on uncomfortable furniture at the hospital, it was so relaxing to finally let go. There were a couple of rooms at hospice house that were especially lovely. They have a chapel and a big room with a fireplace and a library. We had a lot of people visiting my dad so it was nice to have a place to step out and talk to others in a quiet space. Everyone who worked with us was outstanding. So warm and welcoming. I hope you never need a place like this, but if you do, Hospice House offers top notch care.

A newer thrift store to the Augusta area on Capital street. It's a hit or miss like any thrift…read morestore. The items are displayed well with groupings and table set ups. They feature items for sale clothing has a goodwill there set up where some are a % off. They also have shoes, Glassware, Home goods jewelry and I have found vintage items for resale. Very Clean and reasonably priced. Volunteers help run this. They are on social media and there is also a store in Auburn. If you like a bargain stop in, it's always fun to look as the merchandise is always changing.

The quality of was poor. I went there after my kidney was removed because I am physically disabled…read moreas well and they did not even know why I was I mean. I asked for help after peeing myself and they just threw some clothes at me and said do it myself. I've only been there one day. The food was . I was there over Thanksgiving and it was awful. They used very salty lunch meat type turkey, everything was cold, it was hard there on a holiday, but when I started throwing up, no one was around to help me. The rooms are Small for two people. They'd be small for even one person. The doctor that was assigned to me or other PA, refused to give me the psychiatric meds. I've been taking for a while that my psychiatrist outside the rehab center has finally gotten right. I tried to explain. But this doctor listen to. I ended up mental breakdown and horrible nightmares. I left early because without those I was suffering even worse than if I had only had the kidney removed. It was a cancer and there were only a few people who were kind. Terrible place. I hope I never have to go there again.

This place discharged my mother after 2 weeks she was speaking incoherently she was delusional…read morewithin 2 hrs was rushed back to the hospital with a possibly life threatening infection. The staff is incompetant. They call saying shes being discharged and when you show up 7hrs later they have no idea what your talking about. The place is a toilet stay away far away.

Visiting Angels has been absolutely wonderful to work with since I moved my parents to Maine six…read moremonths ago. My dad is 96 and my mom is 91. She is suffering from dementia. The Caretaker team they have put together for us have been just tremendous. They are knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, patient, and make every effort to keep my parents safe, engaged, well-fed, healthy, and happy. The management of Visiting Angels has listened to me as to my needs and the type of person we wanted with my parents. They have listened and responded. I am so appreciative of that. I highly recommend Visiting Angels to anyone who finds themselves in need of a caring angel for your loved ones. They have been a huge support to me in so many ways. I am so very grateful. We had our 16 year old girl who could not walk anymore. She progressed to the stage of starting to…read morehave a hard time walking, to not walking at all within weeks. I always said she would go quick. I made the hard call and within a few days they were out in our yard. They made the experience as peaceful as possible, and when I am losing my mind I just lost my girl, they had the greatest compassion and were there for the whole process. Having never had met or even used their services, they acted as if we had been with them for years. I cant thank them enough.
