Warm ambiance and great seating
Donna J.

Formerly the Stone Street Cafe this new cafe is a lovely addition to the Sidney cafe scene. With its warm ambiance and addition of cozy chairs (lots of wingback chairs) and open floor plan it is a great stop for brekkie, lunch or coffee and dessert. Great selection of treats and food options you won't want to miss this. Had the lemon bar (lots of lemon tartness) and a large chocolate cookie (deliciously chocolate) and regular roast coffee was flavourful. Will be a go to place for us in Sidney now.

$4 for kraft dinner eh?

Found a human hair strand in my tuna fish sandwich. I would never return here again because of that. Beware!

Soups & coffees good. Single washroom needs a good clean. It's been awhile. Not pleasant.

Our group had a little bit of everything and all was good. I definitely recommend here for breakfast! It is a small place but they are very efficient. Probably the best thing I had were the potatoes. I do love how they smash and fry them so there are crispy bits. The bacon was really good too! The only real negative is everything needed salt and I am not usually a salt person but dang! Try it if you are in the area and able to wait.

We ordered Deluxe Beef Burger ($18.50), Clubhouse Sandwich ($16), Chicken Strips ($15.50) and a can of Coke ($3). All the food had a heart portion. They were freshly made and fries were perfectly done. We had our food with fries which also can be substituted for salad or soup. Everything was delicious. Portion was bigger than I thought it would be. Chicken strips were crispy and tender. Deluxe Burger was amazing it was loaded with different toppings including mushrooms. Clubhouse was pretty good as well. There were so much fries. We could eat fries endlessly while tummies feeling full. This restaurant really IS a hidden gem in Sidney. I'll remember to stop by again on my future visits to Victoria.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fox & Monocle in the North Saanich/Sidney area, and the…read moreexperience was truly memorable. From start to finish, everything was beautifully prepared and wonderfully served. We began with the truffle gougere -essentially delightful little cream puffs filled with melted parmesan that were absolutely to die for. Each bite was rich and delicious. Next up was the bread served with onion butter, which had a fantastic flavor profile. My only tiny wish was that the bread had been toasted just a bit to help that lovely butter melt right in. For the main course, we shared a mushroom pie that was beautifully presented and had that comforting, home-cooked feel. The standout dish of the night, though, was the rock fish. The fish was tender, flaky, and paired with pillowy soft gnocchi that was just perfect in texture. We ended the meal with a dark chocolate namelaka (a type of soft biscuit) and a sticky toffee pudding, both beautifully presented. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious, though I personally would have loved just a bit more of that rich sauce to soak up the entire cake, Overall, the service was wonderful, and the meal was impeccable. The area is truly lucky to have such a fine dining gem, and I can't wait to go back again!

Every baked good was perfectly semetrical and there were regulars, bicyclists, and families. The only thing missing was the cool color tones of a Wes Anderson movie to capture mood and dialogue. I tried two of the breakfast sandwiches: beef and an egg and sausage. Both were delicious. I also tried their galette with mushroom and cheddar. It was a nice savory bite of crunch from the pastry dough , and texture of the mushrooms and spices. My belly was full for the direction of my 3 hours on the island. Service was very good also.
