I was introduced to this husband-and-wife-run show at a Yelp event showcasing locally run businesses around central Ohio. They know where to look, who to know, and how to make wonderful furniture. Picture frames, tables, basically, you name it and, if it's feasible, they'll make it! We were able to make a simple, but classy wood plant vase out of their reclaimed barn wood. "Reduce, reuse, recycle" at its finest! I'm excited that they're working on expanding there work space. Having the front-space addition, they're planning to make a "show room"/ come and try/experience their offerings before you chat and decide on a design. Nice!

We had a scheduled appointment that I arranged specifically around my work schedule. I made it clear that I would be working during that time, but the appointment still worked because my girlfriend would be home. Despite that, Ava texted me only about an hour and a half before the appointment--not the day before or even the night prior--and then canceled when she didn't receive confirmation. When I called to address it, I was told she had another appointment across town and had already canceled ours. Even more concerning was being told to "go with another company," which is extremely unprofessional and not how you speak to someone who is trying to do business with you. The bigger issue here is that we were on a tight timeline and needed to move forward quickly. Because this appointment was canceled without proper notice or consideration for what was already communicated, we're now at risk of not getting this handled in time. I don't understand why appointments are being scheduled if they are going to be dropped so easily, especially when the expectations were already clearly set. This experience reflects very poorly, both in terms of communication and professionalism. I'd appreciate someone looking into this and addressing how this was handled. Thanks, Trey

We've even referred friends + relatives to them (high praise). Our salesman Chad Schirtzinger, his sales manager Chrissy Boasetti, and their fabrication + installation manager Toney Curry were all wonderful to work with - knowledgeable, professional, fair, reasonable, and genuinely nice. They have a big selection of slabs, and a huge room of remnants they can fabricate for smaller jobs, too. We weren't planning to, but found a rem to upgrade the countertop in a half-bath, too. This install was big and challenging - it took 3 huge slabs of matching Quartzite for a giant island and a full-height wall backsplash behind the stove. It took 8 strong men to carry and set the big island slab - I promise we were holding our breath the whole time they were carrying it in. There were a few small hiccups - that's going to happen with a big and complicated job like this. They fixed everything to our satisfaction - no hesitation, no complaints, no problem - they consistently "did the right thing" (which is refreshing and somewhat unusual these days). We kept changing our minds in the design process, and they handled our ideas and frequent changes with expert guidance, kindness and grace. AND... because hard surfaces aren't cheap, and Quartzite is quite expensive (2.5x-3x the cost of granite) - their prices were fair, fair, fair. They were fully 1/3 cheaper than another well-known granite fabricator I've spent a LOT of money with in the past (and never will again). The Granite Guy's prices were fair and reasonable for what we got. I cannot say this strongly enough - we recommend The Granite Guy 100%. 1,000%. 10,000%. Our customer experience with them was awesome and what you'd hope for, their prices were fair, the people are awesome, and we got exactly what we wanted at a price that didn't feel like we were being ripped off (if I show you the quote we got from "those other guys", you'll understand what I mean). This project transformed our kitchen, and our entire home. I've attached pix - check them out. Everyone loves our kitchen now. The owner came out, measured, and gave me a sq. ft. installed price that was competitive with some…read moreof the other fabricators that I had talked to, not the lowest price by the way but within my modest budget. They were able to get a particular stone that I wanted so that clinched the deal. He was, throughout this purchase and installation, always pleasant and polite. I wanted a honed finish on the stone: he first quoted me double what anyone else had for honing, but then he did agree to match the pricing from other stone yards for that finish. I had to wait many weeks for him to template and be ready to install. Whoops, he suddenly discovered that my walls were not straight! In a 75 year old house that he had already seen and taken measurements before quoting -- Well, that would be an extra $200 to scribe the stone to the wall (I do not understand why every fabricator makes a template if they expect the walls to be straight and not have to cut the stone to fit...). He then asked if I wanted an "enhancing" sealer on the stone -- explaining that the stone would be darkened by it. I told him "NO" because the color of the stone, as it was, was just what I was after. Installation day: he had applied the enhancer to the stone anyway. It changed the color of the stone from grey-green to gray-black. The seam was not well color matched to the stone, much lighter, unexpectedly wide and very visible. I would guess that he had mixed it to match the original color of the stone. When I asked him if it could be improved, he said "NO". He told me that it would darken as it cured. The edge along the wall, that I had paid extra to have the stone fit, varies from 1/16" to nearly 3/8" gaps (I have seen example of other installer's work that is closer, including much narrower seams, so, I don't understand just what I paid the extra $200 for), filled with BRIGHT WHITE caulk. The stone is dark and the walls were not going to be white. He told me that I would need to paint the caulk to blend it in. Colored caulk is readily available, by the way. UPDATE AT JUST ABOUT 2 YEARS LATER: the caulk is starting to fail (gap and crack) at points. Shouldn't it last longer? Also, he attached the undermount sink to the counter with caulk only. My cabinet guys told me that they have to redo that sort of installation often because they fail. Clips or a harness should be used. I am purchasing a harness device to secure the sink myself. After some time when it became obvious that the seam material was NOT going to darken, I asked him to come back and make it better, and to try to remove the enhancing sealer. To his credit, he did come back: the seam is much less visible now, which is why I originally gave an A-OK rating, but his effort to remove the enhancer only produced a subtle restoration toward the original color. Plus he skipped one section of counter entirely so it is visibly darker than the rest (although as it is subtle, most wouldn't notice). So, I would say that his work is just barely okay, definitely not top quality, and left me somewhat disappointed with my countertop. Apparently the honing and edge scribing was done by the yard where he got the stone, Mees Distributors. So I can't be sure if the uneven scribe is their error (careless work) or his (bad template)..

I ordered 14 yards of pulverized topsoil. All I got was 14 yards of large clumps and a clay pot in…read morepieces along with branches of sorts. This project was supposed to take me a week at max, but has now gone on for more than two weeks. Every wheel barrel full of soil needs to be sifted. I had to devise my own way of sifting and instead of being able to just spread the soil in the yard, I must take at least 10 minutes to 15 minutes to fill a wheelbarrow and then I'm able to spread it. After the sifting, it is still not what I would consider pulverized. If I'm going to use all this soil the way I need to, I'm going to need to find a way to crush all the leftover clumps. The only reason I'm giving 2 instead of 1 star is because delivery was on time and fast. Also, I want to add that I did call customer service, and they did give me back half my money when I complained. Though, the more I work on this, the more I wish I had gone with someone else or bought it by the bag at Home Depot.

No buying wood and hoping it's seasoned. We wanted a specific design similar to our current fireplace doors, and the salesperson helped us find a special order in a catalog. The fellow that did the site assessment was excellent, took meticulous notes and paved the way for an easy installation. The installers were relentless and there's quite a bit to the install - not a task I would attempt myself! A couple months in, really happy with the look and performance and happy with the investment.
