I have been taking Beach Buggy as a local living at the beach since college (5+ years not to age myself) and have always had the most amazing experiences until this past weekend after my engagement party. Our driver, Taylor, was incredibly rude and had 16+ people in the large van and continued picking people up and asked us to "lap up" on the way to Atlantic Beach. Once there, we were all collectively going to the same location and she dropped us off multiple streets away. She said if we have a problem with it then "figure it out and call an uber next time", then banned me when I told her I felt lapping up was unsafe! I understand it's a "free ride" and they work off of tips and I am usually EXTREMELY generous and remind my entire party to tip usually $5-10 per person which is exponentially more than an uber makes. Unfortunately for this local, I won't be using beach buggy anymore or recommending it to anyone. Only takes 1 bad apple to ruin an experience I guess :( read more

I can't recommend Beach Buggy enough!! If you live in San Marco, did you know you can have a FREE ride pick you up (via the app - just like uber) and drop you off at dinner, the museum, the riverwalk, etc?! I feel like people do not know about this service. I moved to Jacksonville a few months ago and have used beach buggy 10+ times. Kristen (with pink hair) drives the San Marco buggy. It charges at the Doubletree, so depending how far you are from the hotel depends how long it will take to get picked up. It has never taken more than 10 minutes for a ride. You type in how many guests you have on the app and then it heads your way. Please make sure to tip your driver! Cash or their venmo is clearly marked on the back seat. Kristen was so nice when picking up my family and I, and she always plays Fall Out Boy music. One time I couldn't find her, so she texted me to notify me that she was behind a big truck. These rides are safe and free. I take it often to happy hour or dinner when I have heels on and don't want to walk a short distance. Such a great asset to our community! read more

It would be great service if they didn't pass you by to get other riders. We got a text saying "I'll be there in few minutes". A "few minutes" passed and we saw him pass us heading to Atlantic beach. We followed his GPS and we saw the multiple pick ups and stops on the app he made while we waited for him to come back. He only made a few (more than 3) circles around the Neptune beach town center. We decided it would be smarter to spend $30 on any competition to get us home. Trust me money WELL SPENT!!!!!! read more

As a local, we LOVE Beachside Buggies. What's not to love? You download their app and they'll pick you up in Jax Beach, Neptune Beach or Altlantic in an oversized golf cart and take you to bars and restaurants in Jax Beach, Neptune Beach or Atlantic Beach. (They were having problems with the golf carts today so for some reason, they were in a van.)There is no fee for the ride but if you're a decent human being you will tip the driver. read more

Don't really know how you can give anything but a perfect 5/5 to a FREE and very quick taxi service. The carts and van are not only nicer and more fun than a normal taxi, I would say it normally beats the comfort level of a private Uber car as well. The drivers are always very nice and fun to talk to. Since they don't have the infrastructure level of something like Uber, you are at the mercy of them texting you pickup updates. However, every time I've used them (10+) they arrived within 10 minutes. The few times I texted when they were busy, they were very up front and honest about the fact that it would be awhile (looking at you, Coastal) so it was easy for us to make arrangements with Uber instead. As others have said, I can't believe it's really free and will be using it as much as possible while it is still a hidden gem. read more

This was a convenient and cheap (I mean come on Tip Only) way to get from Neptune Beach to Jax Beach and back without having the hassle of moving my car. We requested a ride via the beachside buggy app. The driver was outside our building moments later. The driver was nice, polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. No charge. Fun, quick, easy transportation in the beaches area with one of their "buggies" or vans with street glow lights and a bumping sound system. Drivers are always courteous and offer great local advice for a place to eat good food, drink good drinks, and/or find the hopping place where everyone is goin wild! Using Beachside Buggies always beats using a traditional taxi service. read more
