I would have given a better rating if all the spots were like the ones toward the front with concrete patios and luscious grass. We had dirt and sand, but we figured the closer to the beach the grass wouldn't really grow. They don't have ANY public restrooms or showers except the outdoor ones coming off the beach. I really hate showering in our 5th wheel. But hey were were there for the beach right? Since there isn't anyone on site enforcing the rules, many people had their dogs off leashes, which is fine by us. We have a VERY well behaved dog that I like to let run around free early in the mornings. He also will lay at our feet and not move for hours. It was nice to have him around our site freely without a nosy Nancy coming over to complain. Several other sites had their dogs free that came over for a quick hello. We didn't have any issues hooking up or checking out since no one is on site. The family replacing us showed up right as we were leaving. We had a nice little chat and I did a final check for dog poop before she pulled in and told her we left a stack of firewood. I'm not sure how the trip would have been if there was any issues since I never saw anyone the entire week we were there. Tons of kids and tons of friendly dogs running around freely so if you are not a fan of either, this isn't the place for you. If you like lots of rules and someone on site at all times, also not the place for you. I took a star away because they don't offer any refunds of any kind regardless of the notice. You also pay in full at the reservation time so you better be sure you will be there those exact dates.

I never received my deposit back from the park after moving out. There is no receipt given for electricity usage just word of mouth. Overall I will not be back to stay. More problems than it was worth.

DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE MAILED TO YOU. Park poorly maintained, water unusable and damaging to your RV, electricity service faulty and patched together. We were fortunate that the outage at our meter causing total power failure did not damage the RV. The evening before the 4th of July they tried to charge us an additional $50 per day from the first to the 4th as well as doubling the charges for electricity. They knew full well that we would be unable to find another park during the holiday and they had us over a barrel. $500 later, in addition to the rent we had already paid, they backed off their threats to remove our RVs in the middle of the night. Traveler beware!

Oyster creek lies on the other side of the levee. Where it is well maintained and perfect for fishing or just relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature. I was delighted to find out about the covered spots. What a relief from the Texas heat, and to be able to comfortably sit outside during a nice rain storm. I'm lucky enough to work at the beach, which is a very short yet beautiful drive down levee rd. The owner Rodney can be seen riding through the park checking on various things and visiting with the guests. You can tell he really cares about the park and I'm so thankful that he shares his small slice of heaven with myself and others. Green acres is the place to be, trailer living is the life for me. What I mean is that the the important things work…read more A nice concrete pad for your travel trailer, great drainage, fairly clean bathrooms, recurring online billing, and no power issues (unless a major storm knocks it out).It's has the nicest facilities in this area, and will be my top pic any time I'm here. Notes based within the context of most RV parks. Pros: Amenities - Nice weight room, a game room with a air hockey, pool table, tv's, and vending machines. Bathrooms - Fairly large and mostly clean bathrooms with showers. They try and keep up with the cleaning, but there's always going to be someone using it that apparently can't keep it clean. Mgt tries it's best to keep up with the cleaning. Kids Playground - Wife really likes having a place to take the kiddo to play that is on site. Washers/Dryers - Both onsite, and accept card, apple pay, and quarters. Finally, we don't have to make trips to the bank to get quarters. Police - Visible police presence on this short stretch of road. While, not a fan of living in a speed trap area, I do like the added security. Cons: Distance from Food/Grocery - It's a 10-15 minute drive to most restaurants and grocery stores. Luckily a Dollar General and a nice gast station just opened at walking distance from here. Pricing - It is a little pricey, but I do feel I am getting what I pay for here. Dumpsters - (minor complaint) If you're towards the main road, the dumpsters are all on the back side, so it's chore to haul them across the park. Additional Notes: Animals - someone mentioned rodents. I haven't seen any, but I don't doubt they are out there. The park is right next to a water way with tall grasses, etc. No pest control company will be able control that in this area. All mgt can do is keep the area clean to keep it from appealing to the wildlife (and they do). Internet - Haven't used it, because it usually sucks at any RV park. I always recommend to get your own hot spot. Cable TV - Seems to work for some and not for others. We're in the others category. I consider it a bonus, so haven't pushed to have it addressed. Prior management said something about a switch in the RV can fix this issue, but I haven't been able to find one in my camper. ----------------------------------------- EDITED 6/3/2019 - Mgt helped me find the switch the other day to get the cable to work, so I can attest that it works. Most channels work, and it includes HBO. Nice selection for being included in the price. Mgt says they will be upgrading the cable company, so potential for having an even better reception/selection.

It was nice and quiet so made for a lovely vacation. The management were friendly and helpful. The park has a doggie park, with a bench to sit and enjoy. We used their sheltered tables, to sit out and enjoy our surroundings. It is close to eating establishments, shops, and entertainment. The beaches were only a short drive away. Highly recommend using this RV park, and the price was very reasonable, with full hook-ups. We will certainly be using this park on our future visits to Freeport.

The lady who showed us the cabin and runs things is very punctual about setting up a nice cabin and knowing her stuff. What I really love about the cabin is not only is it in a good location, but it's also fully furnished. Beds, recliners, pots, pans and everything you need. They even give you a bottle of dish soap and toilet paper to start off with! My only advice is you should get a 2 bedroom cabin and have a roommate to save money. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

We were sent home last Thursday due to the hurricane approaching... thankfully; as we all know what a disaster it has been. We all stay at Kountry Ranch RV Park in Oyster Creek where we usually pay rent on the 1st of each month. The plant we work at has informed us not to come back to work until Sept. 5 due to so many roads being inaccessible and the job site being under water. So the RV park calls us and tells us if we don't have our rent paid by Sunday they will have all our campers towed. Keep in mind there is a 3 day grace period on rent. We would be back on the fourth to pay... one more day than they allow... in the wake of a disaster and the Rv park wants to tow our campers. Apparently the owner isn't from Texas and doesn't realize that in times like these we try to help one another; not hinder and burden loyal customers.
