I've seen a few of the hygienists, but normally I schedule with Brittany. She is so sweet, and we have a great time every appointment. We just laugh about everything, and it makes it so enjoyable. Plus, she's not too rough with the scrapers or floss, which definitely helps. And if I have any dental concerns or questions she is really knowledgeable and gives great recommendations. The office is nice, clean, and comfortable. They have a good sized waiting area. All the employees are really friendly. Dr. Heather is really nice as well, and I feel like she actually remembers me when I come in, which is nice. They offer a lot of cosmetic dentistry as well, which I haven't done yet, but hope to try the whitening trays this year. Bonus: the lip balms in the post-cleaning goody bags are so good!!!

That'll be a bonus one day. But for the big news - I HATE having fillings done. This week I needed to have old fillings drilled out and new ones put in. Didn't matter. I wasn't looking forward to it because I never get numb enough and the shots always hurt for days after. Not this time! They used numbing gel before the shot. So I felt nothing but pressure. Then when the drilling started they were done with 2 of the 4 teeth before I even thought they'd done much of anything. I literally felt nothing and that's never happened - ever. So I get through the drilling and filling without a worry and am 100% positive that once the novacain wears off there will be days of deep pain where the injections happened. NOPE! Next day and still no pain. Nothing. I cannot believe it and am no longer anxious about having the other 3 done. They're also brilliant at doing the teeth and gum checks. I've had horribly painful checks in the past and when it's done here - so easy and pain free. Love this place and love all the staff - just wonderful all the way around.

He convinced me I needed a crown, quoted me a price and said insurance would not cover it. I paid, but subsequently got a substantial refund from his office. When I called to inquire why the refund, I was told insurance was BILLED BY MISTAKE and he was forced to take a write off. So Dr. Dater would have never told me I was entitled to a discount except someone in his office messed up. I had another appointment for check up and cleaning 6 months later, and at the last minute his office called to say they no longer take Healthy Michigan insurance. Money hungry and greedy... and I see he and staff took cruise to Bahamas. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE.

After trying three dentists in the area and feeling unsatisfied, I decided to finally try one more time and wow am I so glad I did. Not only was the staff so considerate and welcoming, but I actually felt like I wasn't crazy for my concerns or worries. I felt like the things I was asking for to make the experience more manageable wasn't hard but several other dentists treated me like I just needed to get over my fear rather than helping me overcome it. This is the first time I left a dental office feeling confident and comfortable about scheduling my follow up appointment. My filling was also so well done and super smooth, not gritty like I've had in the past! If you want to have a better experience at the dentist, be sure to give this place a try. This team really is like no other and I am so thankful to have found them!

I had an appointment, and with all this Covid stuff I know some appointments have been cancelled…read more However, Dentists have been given the green light to begin working again and I received an email confirming my appointment. So I took time off work, drove into town, and sat outside for 35 min. I called the "please call this number on your arrival" number several times. I texted that number several times. I went up and knocked on the door. The voicemail said they were open but busy assisting someone else. I was the only car in the lot. No one ever answered. After 35 minutes, I guess the dentists were leaving for the day and on their way out they stopped to ask what I was doing out there. They insisted they are not doing hygiene appointments and that all of them were cancelled. Except mine wasn't cancelled. I had no missed calls from the office. I have no voicemails from the office. And I have an email that confirmed my appointment. And if they were supposedly open, someone could have answered the phone or my text at some point over the 35 minutes to tell me they were not open. But they didn't. All of this, paired with me always making the first appointment of the day at 7am so I can make it to work on time, only to not be taken back until 7:30am while I can hear the hygienists chatting behind the doors, and being late for work every time, and then the good doctor that they had absolving their partnership is reason enough to find a new dentist. They have made it very clear that your time and money is not valuable to them, except the part where you pay them for their services. Update: I reached out to them via email and said I think they should pay me for lost wages plus gas if they're going to cancel. After all, most doctors/dentists will charge you if you cancel without notice. They told me I was being reported to the police for being angry and threatening. Was I angry? Yes, I still am. Did I threaten anyone? Only if repeatedly asking why no one called to cancel is threatening. Only if asking why I received a confirmation email for my appointment within the last 2 weeks is threatening. Only if telling them I lost 1.5 hours worth of wages and drove almost 50 miles round trip was threatening. I was also asked never to step foot in their office again. That won't be a problem 2nd update: I just confirmed with another patient that she did actually get her teeth cleaned the very same day I was told they cancelled all cleanings and were not currently doing them. So this entire thing could have been avoided two ways - they could have called and cancelled my appointment, or they could have kept my appointment since they were doing cleanings. Instead they did neither and lied to me

I was told by the receptionist that North Pointe's insurance program changed and therefore, I owed money. I stated that I was never made aware of this and there are laws protecting consumers. They stated they would look into it. I was told that the bill was reduced, but they expected me to pay half. Again, I told them that I did not think this was appropriate due to the fact of never being told that I would need to pay anything due to their policy change which I should have been informed about. I pay for dental insurance to avoid having to pay for routine cleanings. Plus my husband is ill and not working so if I knew I would have to pay extra, I wouldn't have booked the cleaning here. They said that they look into it and if I didn't hear from them that I could count on the bill being forgiven. I didn't hear from them, but I did get a bill from collections. I'm livid. I thought we were working on handling this together and I thought it was handled, yet they sent it to collections. They lack accountability and compassion.

Maybe they are paying yelp of something I dunno but its confusing and hard to trust any Yelp reviews when I know they are allowing this company to wrongfully flag reviews and have them removed for no reason other than the owner of the company simply doesn't like it, that shouldn't be justification to have a review removed.
