    Bedroom view, absolute perfection.

This spot is absolute perfection and if I could stay here 365 days a year I absolutely would. If you have an opportunity to stay here do yourself a favor and you will have no regrets. The view from the room makes you question if it's real or a simulation. Staff & cleaning crew are all so nice and accommodating, I can't wait for my next stay.

Id give them 10 stars if I could. Phenomenal customer service and the view is just breathtaking regardless of what time of day. All rooms have their own porch and kitchen. Cleanliness is good and you do feel and smell like it's clean. Beds are firm and comfortable. They have a fire pit and ample amount of seating. We definitely found our forever vacation spot!

Love this place, it's so quaint, has the BEST views, the rooms have been "revitalized", and are really nice, love that they have old charm and have a little kitchen, the beds are comfortable and the new pillows are awesome! I was even given the name of the company they purchased them from so I can purchase my own... the staff is SUPER helpful and very friendly.... And it's a short walk to the restaurants in town! It's reasonable, We'll ALWAYS come back here!

Location Location Location! I can't even begin to say how much I loved my short stay at the beachcomber; the views were stunning and as much as that's a big deal it's not just the views that make this place 100%. It's the fact that you feel like you are transformed back to a slower pace, simpler times. You can sit back, enjoy life and everything around you. As I sat down, watched the waves roll in and people enjoy the beach I was taken back to a place that I longed to be, somewhere I hadn't been in quite some time; I was at rest. The atmosphere, environment and exclusivity make this place special. I will go back and I pray it never changes. I hope you get an opportunity to stay, it's very popular and you'll need to make your reservations in advance but it's well worth it. I could go on forever but will stop here.

So we just got back from our trip to the Beachcomber. Two glorious nights in a great place. Again the place is very clean and well kept. The rooms all have fully equipped kitchens - so we go and bring all of our food to prepare and stay "Quarantined" here. We never got within 10 feet of anyone and had a great time. The rooms are very nice. The view is incredible. This is actually the first time that I rated it less than a five. Everything was really good - but two things tipped the scale this time: 1) POOR COVID PROCEDURES - When we got there and I walked up to the window, the man at the desk was not wearing a mask. My wife said that he needed to have a mass on and he replied that he got vaccinated and he didn't need to wear one. She disagreed and he put one on. Then one of the room cleaners was standing next to the walk-way talking to guests and her mask was under her nose. Then her partner who was cleaning our room had her mask under her chin. So the two people cleaning our room were nothing safe. We felt the need to wipe down the essential items with our sanitizing wipes. 2) We were delayed getting in to our room by at least 20 minutes. Which is really not such a big deal (first time in like 15 years). So while we were waiting to get in our room, I unloaded the car and brought the stuff out to the grass in front of the room. As I walked back and forth retrieving stuff I passed the woman (above = next to the walk way). She stood there for at least 15 minutes talking - with her mask under her chin, while her partner was in the room working with her mask off. The place is still great.

This was my favorite vacation to date. Not a top 3. Not a "nearly best." My favorite vacation in life. Of course it had every single thing to do with the company, but the motel and the surrounding area was certainly a boon. We planned a get away, and opted to go late in the season hoping that the trip would mean there would be fewer people around. Nope -- Beachcomber is pretty much busy year round. We even saw the "no vacancy" sign up during the days of our stay. But the price was perfect -- something like more than 50 percent off when compared to times during the peak season. What made it perfect? So many things. Beachcomber is located on a bluff just above the beach. We saw the many photos online but this place looks far more superior in person. And all night, you can hear the waves crashing down. Amazing! You can also hear the train, but neither of us are too sensitive to noise, so it didn't prove to be problematic. It was actually quiet relaxing to hear the train speed past. We were in Room 2, which came with a full kitchen, a king sized bed, a ceiling fan and a comfy sofa. The space is small. Like, you-have-to-turn-sideways-to-get-into-the-shower small. I couldn't imagine having a third adult in that room! Even with the sofa, or a pull out bed. We loved this: The room is stocked with a full kitchen -- plates, glasses (even red wine glasses). There is also a full sized fridge and also a microwave. You can make a full breakfast, lunch or dinner with absolutely no problem. And the beach is located within driving distance of major grocery stories, although there is a pretty sweet neighborhood market just across the way. Anyway, yes, the beach is right there! While you cannot walk straight out of your room and onto the beach, as it appears in some photos, the beach is less than a 10 minute walk away -- a tad bit longer if you are using a wheelchair or walker. But know that the motel is set in the middle of a hill, and it's an sturdy incline coming back. Also of note: Every single room faces the ocean. How sweet is that?! There are areas to sit in the grass all over the place. So plan to have a picnic or dinner while watching the sunset from the patio at your bungalow. Beachcomber provides gas grills on site for sharing, so bring your steaks and shrimp kabobs. Check out the community fire pit, or walk down to the beach after hours and set a fire in one of the pits located there. Gorg!

There are three different buildings. The one where we stayed was Villa Del Mar--ocean front, one bedroom, King suite. It was a very spacious room with a kitchenette, large shower, and a huge patio overlooking Avenida Victoria and across the street from the pier. On the ground floor of the Villa building is Frenchie's cafe to grab your morning coffee and breakfast, if you like. Each room gets one free parking space, a nice amenity considering limited parking in the area. We parked our car and took the trolley to get around. The free trolley stops across the street from the hotel. So convenient! In the morning we walked to The Fisherman for breakfast and then took a walk on the pier. The room was clean and well maintained. End tables in the bedroom had lamps with plug ins and magnetic charging. No TV in the bedroom area. And no phones either, which is fine. The room was much nicer than what the pictures look like on the hotels website, in my opinion. I was pleasantly pleased with everything. A couple things to know: 1. The Amtrak train starts passing through around 5:00-5:30am time frame. It stops in front of the pier for passenger loading/unloading. I didn't think it was noisy at all. 2. Also, there are a few steep steps to get to hotel lobby check in and to the rooms. No elevators. I would definitely stay here again. And I would choose the Villa building again over the other rooms. You can't beat the view and the size of that patio!

Room has a sofa bed. Staff is very nice. We had the pleasure of meeting Ricky. He is amazing. Very nice, helpful and informative. NIGHT ONE: First night was a drag for sleep. We asked for the top floor upon arrival but were told they were all full at the top floor. I don't know why any hotel would put kids on a top floor. We had littles running at 11pm-12am and then from 4-6:30am running again and an adult stomping back and forth. After 2 hours I couldn't handle it anymore and called downstairs to have them call the room to have them stop. We were in room 236. They stopped for a bit and started back up at 6:45am. That was unfortunate. NIGHT TWO... used earplugs so I didn't have to hear the upstairs people stomping and kids running at 5am this time. The walls and floor are very thin. You can hear talking upstairs and next door. The hallways have a cold draft when it's cold. Our room started to smell like a wet damp towel on day two after we came back from being out all day. I assume it was due to the non stop rain and possibly leaks within the walls. The Dove soap does make a difference and makes all of the rooms smell good. We had to open the balcony door to air out the room. It makes sense why we see all of the rooms open when they are being cleaned out. They are being aired out before being occupied. NIGHT THREE: used earplugs so we didn't hear the new occupiers upstairs. But they were pretty quiet from 11pm to 7am. NIGHT FOUR: Ear plugs for the win lol. Still, overall, a great place to stay. I know renovations are expensive so fixing these thin walls most likely won't happen anytime soon. I would def stay here again but will remember to wear my earplugs every night Lots of parking. Feels super safe. The place is otherwise quiet. Sad part is that I looked forward to a heated pool and the pool was not heated. It looked nice though. I'm still made about the pool.... Couldn't even use it once. The water was freezing. Hotel itself is extremely clean. Our sheets were so clean. They smelled sooooo good. Staff was very presentable. Breakfast was good. Free breakfast every morning. 6:20-9:30 Mon through Friday and 7-10am on weekends. Cereals, bagels, toast, jelly's, jams. Peanut butter, yogurt, butter, omelets with cheese or ham, Boiled eggs, turnkey sausage, pork sausage, orange juice, coffee, milk, tea, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, apples, oatmeal, bacon on some days, oranges, bananas and pancakes. They supply Dove soap (Dove hand soap, shampoo and conditioner) which is amazing. We brought our own Dove soap just in case because most hotels use smelly soap lol. Inside the room is a microwave, fridge, ironing board, tv, clean remote in plastic, hair blow dryer and a coffee maker. TIPs: -Bring ear plugs -Air out your room daily (open that patio) -Turning the heater higher than 81 makes the room smell burnt -keep the room temp at 75 as the cold comes in from outside or keep your neck warm -if you're here for the pool, call before making reservations to see if it's heated

I wanted to check in early and I first called and spoke to an Aaron who said that he could help me leave a note for early check in, and then when I got there I was checked in by Estrella who was also great and she let me check in early. I came here for a wedding block and did not check the reviews until after my stay and was shocked at all the negative reviews. A lot of the prior reviews all mention outdated rooms, but now in 2026 the rooms have been redone and they're great. The hallways/exterior/common areas are still quite dated, but the rooms themselves have been redone well. They're spacious and large and well apportioned. With that said, there are some negatives. First of all, they're still working on renovations in the common areas. A large portion of the lobby is petitioned off, and the pool and spa are both closed. Secondly, the room we were in the beds seemed on the small side, so if you were trying to put two larger people on one of the beds it may feel a little cramped. Lastly, there still seems to be some issues with management. I was lucky and all the staff I dealt with were great, but one of my friends had her room canceled last minute. Otherwise, the location is great, there's plenty of parking, and you're either facing the ocean or golf course.

I have stayed several times in the past year at a Fairfield Inn (Marriott) under construction but they did a much better job at setting expectations. What I didn't expect upon arrival was a good amount of parking taken up by construction materials and possibly construction vehicles. Additionally, when I checked in and inquired about breakfast I was informed that it would be available in the lobby as their dining area was under construction. My room was on the second floor, so I get in the elevator and press 2. Imagine my confusion when the second floor of the elevator is actually now the third floor. I wish the gentleman at the front desk would have mentioned that to me, but he did not. I figured it out but it was late (9:30pm) and I just wanted to get to my room, sit down and relax after a long day. My room was recently renovated but clearly not completed and I do not believe the city would have signed off on a unit that had tape on the sprinkler head in the bathroom, outlet covers missing (with exposed wires that one could accidentally touch at night in a pitch dark room) and quality control that anyone paying for a renovation would be unhappy with. I was also not informed that my patio door would not open as it was covered in plastic from the outside - so there was no way to access the balcony which was a nice perk to the room that I had reserved. Breakfast in the morning was not "a hot breakfast" as advertised on their website. Instead they offered a "grab-and-go" bag with a bagel, apple, orange, and yogurt. Coffee was also available but there was nowhere to sit. While I appreciate the disclaimer about renovations, they should have mentioned that the pool, fitness center, hot breakfast, and balconies were unavailable. The disclaimer was misleading and definitely not worth the points I redeemed for my stay. I did tell the front desk about the issues with the room and he said he would pass that along to the construction team. I hope management was also informed but I assume unlikely since I did not hear from them and it's been 3 days since my stay.
