I didn't even think my hair was going to be fixable, but Linda explained to me very honestly what could and couldn't be done, told me what she recommended we do to improve it, and then proceeded to completely save my hair. I genuinely thought I was going to have to just cut a whole bunch of my hair off, but Linda successfully took control of my bad hair situation and totally turned it around for me! Aka I can't go full gray with out destroying my hair. I also got a cut about a week ago and she didn't take off too much length. The inside is nicely decorated and modern with lots of chairs to heat your hair. Great location in the middle of Minden, right off 395, by the court house and the new casino. Debbie, is also great for nails, but watch out no peanuts!!! She is allergic. But she does great manicures and pedis. I was a first timer and didn't have any preference and my cut was quite bad. I asked for a straight cut with some pieces to frame my face.. I didn't get styled so i didn't know until I got home, but one side on my hair is considerably shorter than the other side. And the framing also was only done to one side of my face. Super bizarre almost like a homemade hair cut. I won't share the name of the stylist/hair cut woman but proceed with caution or go off recommendations if you know people who get their haircut from here! I won't be back.. and I feel bad leaving this kind of review. But it is a pain bc the cut was $30+ tip and now I have to find a salon again to cut my hair and fix this..

To my surprise ,this very busy shop fit me in for a much needed haircut from a Master Stylist- 23 years in the business. Misty is beyond belief. She gives you a complete consultation,she explains everything about your hair; texture, condition, color etc. She discussed her cutting tools; razor vs. shears . You can ask as many questions as you want. Misty is very patient and has compassion for her nervous clients. The shampoo she used on my hair was perfect and the scalp massage outstanding. My hair was exactly what I wanted. Layers, length, bangs perfect The salon has a fun, yet professional vibe. The ladies who work there love hair and people. I've had gray hair for years, which could be described as thin on top and a little wild on the side over time. Gayle has her hair done on a regular basis, while she looks at mine after 3-4 months and tells me that "it's time". My last hair cut before the Genoa Salon was in Cape Town South Africa, a few blocks down from our Air BnB. For 250 Rand (~$15 including tip), I received a nice cut, neck and arm massage, and my ear hair removed (via wax!). I'd never felt so relaxed after that experience! This time around (and ~3 months later), Shelly did a fine job getting my hair back in order. And upon inspection at home, Gayle thought it was one of the best haircuts I had ever received!
