One of our friend's visiting from the US is named Alexander, so it was even more awesome. After a long day at the Keukenhof gardens, we decided to drive to the beach to show them what a Dutch beach looks like, so this was totally spontaneous. They sat us immediately, moved the big umbrella so we weren't baking in the sun (even though most Dutch love that). This is a beautiful beach club. The inside is wonderful and the bathroom, although small, is very modern and clean. We only had a few borrel items. It's not your typical bar food though. The bitterballen was only 2 per order, so not cheap. They were good though. You will need to reach out to get them to your table, don't be shy, give them a little wave or quiet "pardon" when they walk by. They forgot to bring me a glass of wine I ordered, but I didn't really need it anyway, so when we noticed they billed it for us after we paid by card, they immediately went inside and returned with cash to refund us. Such good friendly service. Noordwijk is beautiful and classy, so this beachclub didn't disappoint. It was a great first impression to my friends.

The furniture and overall decor give it the feeling of a beach bar in Thailand. They have a lot of beach furniture facing the sea and it's really nice to relax there after a long walk on the beach. The food and drinks are fine, nothing super special. My only gripe would be the speed of the wait staff. Instead, our experience was unforgettable! Let's start with the ambiance - low lighting, friendly din, and an implacable wood fragrance almost like incense. The staff were quick, accurate, and good-humoured. THE FOOD - He defaulted to his usual rib-eye steak, and says it's the best he's had in a while. I had the hot ribs, which feature an almost carribean-jerk style rub topped with julienne leeks and red peppercorn, accompanied by a white garlic sauce of some kind (perhaps yogurt). I cannot rave enough about these ribs. They were perfectly meaty, moist, and beautifully flavored! They've even converted my fiance, who insists that next time I'll have the rib-eye so he can have the hot ribs. ;)

They also serve the Brouwerij 't IJ IPA beer which I became a fan of. Service was very friendly, and reasonably fast (I was not in a hurry). So the prices are on the high side (we spend about 40 € per person for food and a couple of drinks) which puts me off a little, but if your in town and look for a good meal then by all means: go here.
