What I'm upset about is that the Groupon is advertised as being regularly 495$, yet when I called to make an appointment, they told me their regular fee was 99$ for a checkup and cleaning with X-ray, and 89$ without an X-ray. The groupon is for 79$ without an X ray. I believe it was 50$ for the X-ray when I went in the first time. You do the math. Don't buy the Groupon.

This place is just as effective as the transit system with dentists and hygienists shuffling back and forth between operatories. Dr. Khanna is wonderfully competent, friendly and talkative. Her first name is Mita and she told me how she was raised in Burlington and completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at McMaster and we cross-referenced people we know until we hit on some mutual acquaintances - small world. There was some dental work that happened too, but it's not a big part of my memory and so overall the whole affair was a good experience.

Our stretch of Danforth is really well-served by dentists, but we were very interested in this new, well-appointed "Dental Hygiene Spa" kitty-corner to our local park. We'd heard good things, but only went ourselves very recently. First, and this is important: Impressions isn't a dentist's ofice - it's run by dental hygienists. (The Ontario government made it possible for dental hygienists to operate without a dentist's supervision with the Health System Improvements Act of 2007.) While they can refer you to a dentist, all they can do in-house is cleaning (scaling), polishing, sealing and fluoride treatments. That's enough for me, and I trust that someone who sees teeth all day can recognize a cavity, but they don't have an X-Ray machine, so they can't see between teeth; if that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere. I was really impressed with Impressions. Georgia, the hygienist who worked on my teeth (potentially their only hygienist?), was gentle but very thorough. I had a full examination beforehand, then a full scaling & polish. Before she starts the examination, though, she dips your hand in a bath of (hot, but not boiling) paraffin wax, then puts your hands in plastic bags and then (and I found this part cute!) oven mitts to keep the wax warm longer. I'd never had a paraffin wax treatment, and I really found it made my hands lovely & soft. And to have it at the dentist? unthinkable! My wife generally has trouble with her teeth and needs a lot of thorough cleaning, but she said Georgia was gentle and didn't hurt her gums much, a huge plus for her. Natalie, the receptionist/administrator, was really organized, and she contacted my insurance provider to find out exactly what was covered under my plan, then laid it out for me in a document she prepared. My only gripe is that we had to pay, then wait for the insurance company to reimburse us, rather than the thing I've seen a lot of other dentists do, send the form in to the insurance company and get them to send a cheque directly. She did send the form in for us, though, so it's not all bad news. All-in-all, we were really impressed, and we'll definitely be back. Impressions is a really great addition to the neighbourhood!

The hygienists at Impressions were super thorough and explained everything. They do an initial checkup, charting your teeth and gums. My teeth were heavily stained and they were able to clean them up perfectly. Not only that but they discovered the issue. I was using bad mouthwash! Above and beyond that, they give you a paraffin wax hand treatment to help relax you before they do the cleaning. I'll definitely be coming back!

I have been to some places were they really hurt you while doing cleaning and after that my mouth was full of blood - not here. The dental hygienist Rachel is really gentle and good. Definitely a good place to come for your dental check-ups and cleaning. Only recently I had couple of problems when scheduling appointments - one time there was no confirmation e-mail sent and I mixed up the times because I expected and e-mail with date and time (as usually) and then another time I scheduled an appointment for my husband, he took his day off to go for an appointment, but when he got there, he found out that the receptionist forgot to schedule his appointment in the system. When I called for explanation, I was told that they are unable to check what happened. Can we come back another time? Like it's so easy to take time off once again. If I would miss my appointment, I would be charged a fee for dental hygienists time; however, if they "miss" my appointment, "It's okay, can you can tomorrow again?" It disappointing but I still recommend this place for dental cleaning, etc.

As soon as we go in they made sure we got taken care of right away and you can see that this place is for kids cause the feeling of the area and set up make any kid feel welcomed.. I'm so happy that they were accepting new patients and since someone canceled they were able to schedule my son to be seen by the dentist today. One of the plus I must say about this place is that they do direct billing.. I had to deal with the second dentist we tried we had to pay up front and send in the papers ourself and wait for the reimbursement and we all know going to the dentist is like giving them your whole house it cost so much so not having to pay first and just let them do the direct billing was such a happy thing to hear cause it gives and ease of mind.. Second the staff are very patient I have seen dentist where they force the child to sit of get the parents to hold the child down instead of getting to know the child and building the trust as the dentist we saw today said so that was something I was happy to hear cause my son he is 5 and he went through enough trauma that he is afraid and he cried before they could do anything to him and to hear they want to take it slow build the trust with him made us feel comfortable. If you have 5 to zero patience with kids don't be a dentist for kids cause they tend to get scared or nervous.
