Let me start by saying it has been many years since I've last had Beach Hut Deli. Their sandwiches are very well made with quality ingredients. They are located in the Loehman's Plaza. There is plenty of parking available. I ordered the 6" Santa Cruz on a French Roll. The sandwich includes Hot Pastrami, bacon, cream cheese and fresh avocado. The sammy is very filling. Absolute terrible experience here today. Called at 10:15 and placed a pick-up order with them for 11:00. The gentleman who took my order indicated no problem having it ready. Timing was important to me as grab lunch each Wednesday and go out to the school she teaches at in Elk Grove and we have lunch together in the parking lot. And she has only 25 minutes for this. So want to pickup and pay as quickly as I can. Show up timely and the two ladies working the counter are making sandwiches. One blonde and one dark haired. The dark haired one acknowledges a minute maybe later, and asks if I am picking up an order and tell her I am. She says I will be right there and continues to make a sandwich. (Don't have any sort of problem with this.) When she finally does come down, told her my name. She tells me the order is 'almost done'. I tell her that I put the order in 45 minutes ago. She responds the they have been "slammed" this morning. (I see four customers in line down by the registers and they seem to be working on sandwiches for them). So am figuring they are working on my order now also, or maybe someone in the back is preparing. No happy, but seems I should be able to walk out of there soon. She goes back to her station at the front and pulls out bread and starts making my order. Was flabbergasted. She out and out lied to me as they had not even started them. What good does placing a pre-order if everyone who comes in afterwards is given "up-sees" in line. Absolutely ridiculous. Eventually prepares the sandwiches and are paid for. Surprise, no apologies or anything like that. Guess this is their business model. The service level they provided today was flat-out poor. There certainly are out choices for sandwiches besides these guys. Heck, just up the street is Jersey Mikes. Sandwiches just as good and certainly more economically priced (and won't be as soggy as mine was today). Note-if you are the owner or manager of this store, you likely have cameras. Great location! Lots of space inside and outside. Their sandwiches are always so fresh and extremely overpacked with meat (haha). They have a great variety of beers on tap and a couple of tvs up, so makes for a good spot to watch sports while enjoying a cold beer and hefty sandwich with fresh ingredients. The only downside is that they tend to be a little slow (employees..) and I notice that this is more of the case when there's not many customers there.. almost like they know it's slow, so they move slow. This is a nice Beach Hut Deli. I enjoyed the great service, clean restaurant, perfect volume music (Granite Bay on a busy weekend has far too loud music), and great options for patio seating. Bring your mutt on a leash for the patio - there's sun and shade. There's also a dog/cat supply pet shop next door. Play corn hole if you like. One drawback Monday at lunch was the stinky feet smell upon walking in. Maybe it was cheese? I dunno but I can overlook it, the place was clean. I did let them know. Haven't been to a Beach Hut in years. A sudden craving came over me and luckily I live not too far away from one. Walked in around 5:30 or so and there was no one there. I placed an order for their Phantom Bride beer and the Righteous Reuben. My husband was having a hard time creating his sandwich and the woman taking our order was really helpful. Once we finished our order we took our seats. Another woman called out our name and indicated that they were out of the bread for my husbands sandwich and they had to use something else. After we took our seats the sandwiches did take a while to come out and there was someone else who got theirs first, but it was no big deal, we weren't in any hurry. The sandwiches are served on Frisbees which is pretty cool, adds a unique touch. The sandwiches were made perfectly and my craving was satisfied. I can't believe I stopped going. I go to this location 1 a week now and have been happy with my service. However, today was different. My order was the same. A Hot Santa cruz lettuce wrapped. This time who ever made my sandwich was not the brightest bulb. They wrapped the sandwich paper with the lettuce wrap and i almost chocked on the paper. I called the store to talk to a manager. This location has slowly been eroding away. We would come here pretty regularly, a couple times a month at least and use to be okay. Now it is probably the worse place I've been in a long time. Came in over the weekend ordered $60 worth of food and drink and probably will be our last time. The service is consistently slow. Employees are not friendly. Food is so so. Orders are wrong more often than not. Taps are dirty with as you can see floaters in the beer and they do not taste the best. This place is supposedly under new management...well that's what the weathered sign out front says I think after a year of a sign being up it's no longer new management and no hope for any improvement. We ordered nachos and asked for no sour cream. The order came out noticed sour cream, politely asked to remake since we asked for no sour cream. Employee was not friendly and said okay. Come back with The rest of the order comes out along with the new nachos. After eating a few nachos it was apparent the sour cream was removed (poorly by the way) instead of being remade. I went in to ask for a refund, nachos in hand, the employee that made them probably knew it was coming did not make eye contact I asked if I can get a refund and she said hold on and walked to the back. Came back without saying a work and then said "sorry about that" and gave me the cash. All in all all this place has going for it is the outdoor seating (which now come to think of it a lot of those chairs are literally on their last leg and breaking), they used to have a decent beer selection and the location. read more

I ordered a Turkey & Cheese on sliced wheat from this location via DoorDash. One of the slices of bread was the end piece from the loaf. Who does that?! Yes, sliced wheat might not be a popular option but come on! Everyone knows you don't make a sandwich of the end piece... especially a sandwich I'm paying almost $20 for! There's a long list of hot and cold gourmet/signature/classic sandwiches. They even have Beach Hut Deli-style hot dogs, nachos, and a burger. I ordered a regular (6-inch) "surfin' bird," a cold turkey, avocado, bacon, and cream cheese with everything (mayo/mustard/shredded lettuce/tomato/red onion/and Greek peppers), served on a soft, white roll. You can also request Italian dressing and alfalfa sprouts, which I didn't realize til later. I'll know to add those next time! The regular (or their "small") is a pretty hefty sandwich! Even though it's $8, it's worth every penny for all the fresh produce, the cheese, and the portion of deli meat you get (like 3x more than Subway!). The young staff were all very polite and friendly, but minus 1 star because it seemed like an eternity to make 2 sandwiches! There was no one else ordering in front of me, but there were about 3-4 other customers at tables waiting on their food. Today is the last time I'm coming here. Over the last few months, it has gone downhill. Every single time I've ordered something, an ingredient has been missing from my meal. Today it was my salad dressing for my salad and of course I find out after I've already come home after running multiple errands and I'm ready to eat.
