It pains me to write this review, because I've had 90% great experiences here, but the most recent…read morewas truly horrific! Some background- I do A LOT of antiquing, some for resale, but primarily for personal collection. When I come across jewelry, I usually come here and sell it or just verify and decide depending on its value whether to sell. For the last almost year, I usually dealt with Johnny or another gentleman. They were both very nice and always tested my jewelry without ruining it (inconspicuous places like the bottom of the ring bank etc). Yesterday, a girl I had seen once before took my jewelry and tested it. One item tested gold but low karat and another as bronze. That was all fine except when I looked at the rings she had rubbed and tested the front of the ring. Both rings now have dents/scratches and the designs are ruined (one is a signet, so the shape isn't rounded anymore since she rubbed a corner of the front). The second ring was tested in multiple areas along the band and on the front of the ring, it just looks terrible. Resale value and personal value is affected and I am devastated. I didn't say anything on the spot because I honestly have never encountered this issue. I'm really happy I didn't bring a bag of rings I was unsure about. Who knows if she would've used the prongs or some other part of the ring for testing. Whoever is training the newer employees really needs to teach her to test expensive items with more care. If you care about your items or are on the fence about selling, please for the love of god go to a jeweler. I didn't think I had to ask for them not to ruin my jewelry, but here we are.

Came in to buy some gold as a last-minute gift. The store was clean, and the staff was friendly and…read morehelpful. I ended up paying about $30 over the average retail price, but considering the convenience, the sealed packaging, and the fact that I didn't have time to wait for online shipping, I think it was fair. I also checked a few other shops beforehand, and this was the best deal I found that day. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

I am very disappointed. I went in this evening to inquire about a new movement for my watch. The…read morelady behind the counter ignored the doorbell at first, and when I finally knocked on the window she buzzed me in. When I told her that I had a battery done recently and that my watch was still losing time, she said that my watch was not worth a new movement, which costs about $125 to $150. I explained that the watch was worth more than that, and had sentimental value and that I had no problem spending the money. She then proceeded to tell me that the watch was running on time and wasn't broken. I explained that I had just reset it in the car before walking in, and she then said that the watch person was not going to get to me for at least 10 days because "there are other people in front of you". I felt like she didn't want my money or business. I purposefully went into a small, privately-owned establishment rather than a chain store, but I feel that I would have had better service and better luck somewhere else. She then walked away while I was in mid-sentence to answer the phone and proceeded to ignore me. If the owner reads these, I would hope he would take away the following three points: 1. As the customer, it is up to me to establish what I am willing to invest in my pieces. It is not up to the clerk to establish what it is "worth". "Worth" is a subjective term. 2. Ignoring a customer and then reluctantly admitting them into the store 3 hours before closing does not leave a good impression. 3. Jewelry is an emotional, relational industry. There was no attempt to establish rapport, welcome me into the store, or in any way make me feel that my business was valued. In fact, my presence was treated as an annoyance and inconvenience. From the 2 locked doors, and the "Rob someone else" sign and the "if we are busy you'll have to make an appointment or wait sign", to the lack of welcome or even a simple hello, it seems like clients are an unwelcome presence. However, based on the giant "We buy Gold" signs, their money certainly is welcome. Perhaps you could just put out a collection plate or hire a robot since personal interactions are not something you are willing to invest in order to gain business.

Update on review, I am now being threatened with legal action because I voiced my dissatisfaction…read morewith my treatment here, instead of apologizing for the ugliness I experienced by the man (who as stated before I overheard speaking and being crass). How very professional. (original review: Wow! I came here with some random coins that I found in a move, not expecting to make a mint, just more cash than I had with them just collecting dust and this place had a good review on yelp. I have NEVER heard someone SO RUDE as the man who works here (owner?). The lady in the front tried to relay what he'd ranted at her about for 5 minutes with various slams to me, but I wasn't having any of it. Walked out with my coins. I'll let them continue to gather dust then take even a dollar from that crook.)
