Beach City smoothies is one of the longest standing establishments in the village! A hot spot for locals, teenagers, and fruit lovers, this place has something for everyone. The smoothies here are so delish! They used to have these iconic styrofoam cups (i think they're gone now). I recently stopped by on my lunch break craving a pretzel. The pretzels here are a hidden gem, the spinach feta being my favorite. It is stuffed with this delicious filling and it is such a nice pairing with a smoothie. An establishment can oftentimes be measured by its employees. Especially here, where it's small and if you have questions you're at the mercy of the employee on deck to give you the right answers. First of all, the employee I interacted with today was very rude. She was short, she didn't want to answer any questions. When she did, she gave wrong answers (based on things I've ordered when here in the past) and again - rudely. It was a very unpleasant experience that made my smoothie taste that much worse. read more

This place has my favorite smoothie, Pismo Pineapple!!! Great, fast and friendly service. My kids and I have been coming here since we moved to Carlsbad in 2010! It's a beachy themed place with tables, a sit down bar on the wall and board games people can play while enjoying smoothies, juices or bowls! I've tried other places around, but none matches this one! Parking is off street or a lot directly across the street. It's also across from Carlsbad landmark Pizza Port! My daughter lives in the village now, so it's a great excuse to pick up a smoothie on the way! I also love that I can order online and my smoothie is ready for me to pick up when I get there. The kids and I love hitting up the goodies here at Beach City! This spot is located in the "downtown" region of Carlsbad. And we hit this spot up fairly regularly...especially if it's the morning/mid-morning hour! . Everyone gets some version of an açaí bowl and honestly we haven't tasted a "bad" one yet! It's conveniently located along the main road stretching west to east in Cbad (Carlsbad Village Drive - locals still call it Elm), and is also situated on a corner where just across the street is a parking lot -no fee. Cute little smoothie spot in the village. I got the strawberry peach mango tango smoothie with the frozen yogurt which made it creamy. Very yummy and not super sweet. The pitaya bowls with the extra fruit are decent sized and really yummy with the blackberries and mango in it. The customer service was good the staff was very friendly. It's also dog friendly. It already comes with fruit and granola and the açaí is great quality. I also got a pretzel and the total price was $14. It's not the cheapest, but I have gotten açaí bowls from other places that don't come with good toppings so you have to pay to add them and it'll end up coming to around $20 which is a rip off. There was 3 females working and each of them did not smile, not friendly and acted like they did not want to be there. We came early in around 845am and there was no one there. We ordered the beach city acai bowl which came with an acai blend topped with some granola, banana, strawberry, mangos and blueberries. It originally came with blackberries but we were able to switch it out for blueberries instead. The blend was alright, it has a very subtle tart taste to it which I would prefer for a more tart taste. Overall, the acai bowl was good but wished they would have more toppings to go with it. The portion sizes are SAD. They gave us a tiny little plastic container with maybe less than 3oz of açaí in it, granola, and a little fruit. You can quite literally see how small the cup is and how little acai is actually in the cup. It didn't even reach the top of the container WITH toppings and had the balls to charge $8 for it.
