What can I say other than I absolutely love the Beach Cities Training facility and even more so my personal trainer, Merrit!
The facility:
1. It's always kept fresh. Maybe it's the good air circulation, since it's located close to the beach, but I always feel refreshed when working out there. Never does it ever feel suffocated. Even in this scorching summer weather, I'm able to stay physically and mentally cool here! :D
2. It's always clean. For my fellow OCD/antibacterial fetish people.. Everything is kept clean! Even in between clients, I would see Merrit wipe a chair or weight down with the sanitizing wipes. Even better is that the wipes are out in the open for anyone to use if they wanted. Props. Since some facilities don't have that.
3. Aesthetic setting. Probably because I'm a girl and I observe these things.. but it wouldn't hurt to know that the place looks good! When I first walked in, for a second I thought I walked into IKEA. (Okay that might be a little overboard... but for a training facility, not bad!). Their bathroom there looks 10 times better than my own at home. Plus, they have comfortable seats for you to sit and rest on. The color scheme and interior design for the entrance is nice and welcoming...it'll make you feel nice. But once you look past that and see their equipment.. it'll make you feel like a badass! (Well, it does for me! ^^)
4. Other nice things. They have a TV in the facility! Although I don't really pay attention to it while I'm doing my badass workouts, it's nice to have the ESPN highlight clips to glance at here and there on my quick breaks. Just having the option there is nice! Their treadmill inclines up to 30%- which most facilities don't have that. They provide fruit, water, and small towels. Cool beans.
The personal trainer: Merrit
She's AWESOME. AWESOME. AWESOME. I absolutely love Merrit!! Why??
Even though she looks like a badass (which she is), she's sooo nice! Just by looking at Merrit, you can tell she know what she's doing. Although she respects my "limitations" (being out of shape and needing a break like every other second), she really pushes me to achieve my goal. I always wake up sore but feeling accomplished. I'm definitely seeing results with her and I feel so great!! (Merrit, if you're reading this, I can't thank you enough!). Going into personal training, I would expect to see results.. but to have someone so supportive and nice to help me through the process, is even better!
(Sorry, I know my review is long.. so if you need a water break right now, please take one! :) *trying to be nice like Merrit*)
Lastly, I have a very, VERY busy schedule. And I am so appreciative of Merrit's flexibility. I usually end up last minute canceling my session due to school or work. Merrit is always so understanding of it and open to work something out with me! That makes a whole world difference when you've got 99 problems and rescheduling ain't one!
Lastly, is Wendy. She's the other personal trainer. Although I don't work with Wendy as much (probably just briefly once or twice), Wendy is very nice! She works with you and is patient! Either trainer, you can't go wrong!
Hope this helps! read more
