While I was there a local Mother and her 2 daughters came in and the owner straight away greeted them, remembered their names and bend over backwards to help the Mum encourage the younger daughter to try and yummy healthy lettuce and promised to makesure sure to not let any tomato go near her wrap. It was the sweetest thing and I could see how greatful the mother was and how the kids really did look forward to their special dinner at Shredded. The owner even gave the girls a little chocolate for dessert (after asking the Mum permission). There was smiles all round!! Love this little area of Aldinga Beach, Mclaren vale and Willunga, the locals really make me want to travel down to visit more often!

Dad had a coffee and a slice of carrot cake, while mum and I chose to have something more substantial. (Dessert is substantial right?) Mum ordered the three cheese souffle which was served with what I can only describe as a beetroot terrine. The souffle was yum and now I'm tempted to try and make it at home, as well as the beetroot terrine. Layers of beetroot and beetroot jelly. I ordered the shiraz poached pear served with vanilla ice cream. This dish was also yum but seeing as the menu seemed to be favouring local produce I was expecting more. I felt that the dish was served with too much of the poaching liquid I would have liked it to be strained as biting into a bay leaf wasn't all the appetising. That said the pear was yummy and a I enjoyed the meal. I just would have liked the pear to have been cored so I didn't have to eat around the pips and I would have prefered home made ice cream. Some of the best milk in the area could really be utilised here. Would I come back? Absolutely! Would I expect less than the menu seems to promote? Yes, and it will be enjoyable.
